Two Owner Porsche 911 SC Targa

Auctioned with out engine.

Second Owner purchased in 1982

Cashmere with tan leather interior

Near Perfect Interior - Dash is perfect, Door Panels just gorgeous, Rear seats beautiful, Front seats have been redone in fine leather with little use and no visible wear, Leather smells and looks amazing, Freshly wrapped leather wheel. Carpets show use but no rip, tears or funky smells.

Fuchs wheels

Toyo Tires with plenty of tread.

Glass and seals are good.

Targa top has recently been restored.

Clean body - The left rear quarter shows sign of repair. The second owner noted that it had been hit prior to his purchase in '82 Also note that there is a small ding on the left front quarter - see photos and video

Paint - Depending on use it could use a repaint. If you are looking for a fun car to drive that might include sloppy or dusty roads, I would leave it and have fun. Let the outside get dirty and enjoy the amazing drive and superb interior. Otherwise yes it could use paint. Some egg shelling is apparent and the front cowl has rock chips but hood is clean. Not a stretch to say it needs paint but certainly doesn't require it.

Why it doesn't have a engine. This Targa was our clients pride and joy and a car he loved for over thirty years. Last fall the engine suffered catastrophic failure. The #5 valve was sucked clean through the piston causing a massive amount of damage. We sent the engine off to a specialist and our client lost interest in the car due to cost and his age. Hopefully you have a engine or perhaps wrecked your Targa and you have the engine and are looking for a new body to get back on the road.

Jack Olsen built one Porsche to do it all

Wed, 23 Jan 2013

Jack Olsen has built himself a lair called the 12-Gauge Garage, and inside that garage he built a lairy Porsche 911 nicknamed Black Beauty II. Although it looks like one of Stuttgart's models from the sixties or seventies, it is actually four decades of 911 gubbins from 1965 to 2000 thrown under one shell: the lightweight body is from 1972, the transaxle from 1977, the brakes from a 1986 Turbo, the engine from 1995, for example. It weighs 2,400 pounds and it's got 272 horsepower to get it going, but it's still a pure Porsche, Olsen saying, "If you stop thinking about what you're doing, it will remind you in very abrupt ways."
Olsen said the real point has been to have one car that does it all, so he does everything in his 911 from neighborhood runs to 7-11 to track racing - he loads the aero bits in the car and bolts them on trackside. And he says he'll never stop tweaking the suspension.
You can watch and hear the rest in Olsen's words in the video below.

Ward's Automotive Ten Best Engines of 2014 dominated by diesels, turbos

Thu, 12 Dec 2013

With the Car and Driver Ten Best decided, the North American Car and Truck of the Year finalists announced and Cadillac, Ram and Subaru chalking up wins with Motor Trend, it's fair to say that the automotive awards season is in full swing. The next set of trophies to be handed out will be from Ward's Automotive, which has announced the winners of its 2014 10 Best Engines.
The latest contest was marked by the widespread emergence of diesel power and the continued success of turbocharged engines. There was even an electric motor on this year's list. In fact, only three of the ten winners were naturally aspirated and only two winners returned from last year.
"We weren't looking to throw the bums out, as they might say about an election. We were just really impressed with the flood of new powertrains," said Ward's Automotive Editor-in-Chief Drew Winter. Those new powertrains include the 83-kilowatt electric motor from the Fiat 500e, the 1.0-liter, EcoBoost three-cylinder from the Ford Fiesta and the 2.0-liter turbodiesel from the Chevrolet Cruze.

2014 Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid is one mean green machine

Sat, 20 Apr 2013

The entire Porsche Panamera lineup gets a refresh for the 2014 model year, and new additions to the range include two long-wheelbase models and this E-Hybrid fuel-sipper that makes its debut here at the Shanghai Motor Show. And, well, we say "fuel-sipper lightly."
Porsche has packed its hybrid Panamera with 416 horsepower and 435 pound-feet of torque, and that certainly makes for one quick sedan-hatchback-thing. Hitting 60 miles per hour will reportedly take just 5.2 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 167 mph. And while Porsche hasn't revealed specific powertrain details, the company says that the S E-Hybrid "improves upon the concept offered by the previous Panamera S Hybrid with a more powerful electric motor," which leads us to believe that the supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engine at the heart of it all still remains intact.
Fuel economy numbers (or estimates) have not been released as of this writing, but we expect to have that information closer to the car's on-sale date later this year. As for the new battery system, Porsche says that when plugged into a 240-volt charging station, it can be fully charged in just two and a half hours. When topped off, the Panamera S E-Hybrid should have an electric driving range of around 20 miles at speeds up to 84 mph, though, obviously, not at the same time.
