1973 Porsche 911t Targa Cis! on 2040-cars
Miami, Florida, United States
|
What makes this car special is that it's a 1973.5 911T Targa with the CIS 2.4 engine. What makes it really special, is the fact that it's a FACTORY TANGERINE car with FACTORY SPORTS SEAT (THESE ALONE ARE WORTH OVER $5K!), and A/C. The engine, with the exception of the starter, is all there as far as I can tell. One of the cylinders has a bad crack in it. The case doesn't seem to have been cracked open. The tranny is there as well. The pics show the engine out of the car and in pieces, but I have since put the heads, cylinders, and intake on it, and installed the engine and tranny on the car to make it easier to transport. Targa top is in bad shape, but is complete. Engine does not turn.
It's in need of complete restoration. It has a little rust, but just around the rear window, lower rear section of the quarter panels, under the headlights, the bottom of the driver side door, on the top of the front fenders, and some on the outside part of the batter boxes, which by the way look remarkably good as does the suspension pan. I found no rust on or around the rear parcel shelf. I have made every attempt to describe the car in detail, and may have made it sound a lot worse than it really is, but the truth of the matter is that there is minimal rust on it for a car that's been sitting for 12 years. Item is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early if sold locally. Bid to buy. Vehicle is located in Miami, FL and you can come see it in person if you like. Please contact me via Ebay message to coordinate a showing. This is a 3 day auction, so make your bid fast, and make it count!
It rolls perfectly, and it's truly a beautiful example of an early, desirable Porsche.
This will make someone a great and valuable early Porsche that will continue to go up in value.

Some kind of Porsche 911 spied in Germany
Wed, May 20 2015Seeing a Porsche undergoing testing in Germany – even at the Nurburgring – is hardly a rare sight. But this one has us scratching our heads. Though almost entirely devoid of any sort of camouflage, this particular 911 clearly has something going on. It's got LED daytime running lights (similar in appearance to those on the Cayman GT4) integrated into the front end, extra air vents around back, and a pair of exhaust tips poking out the middle of the rear bumper. In the end, we could be looking at the upcoming facelift scheduled for the 911 that will see it shift to forced induction across the entire range (save for the GT3 and GT3 RS) – or this could be another version of the existing model. Porsche has been known to churn out a steady stream of those, after all. One way or another, though, it looks like we'll be finding out sooner than later – judging from how ready this particular Elfen looks to hit the show stand and showroom. Porsche recalls new 911 models over exhaust pipe issues
Thu, 28 Feb 2013Porsche, though the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, announced a voluntary recall on about 2,200 911 Carrera and Carrera 4 models built during the 2012 and 2013 model years. On cars equipped with the standard exhaust system it was found that the tailpipes could separate from the mufflers and become dangerous road debris; models that added the optional sport exhaust system are not included in this recall.
Affected vehicles were built between March and November of last year, but there have been no reports of the problem on any customer-owned vehicles. Porsche first noticed a cracked tailpipe weld on a test vehicle back in May, and since then has found similar problems on other internally owned vehicles, all with more than 25,000 miles on the clock. To fix the problem, dealers will be replacing the mufflers. Scroll down to read the official notice.
Next-gen Porsche Panamera loses its buttons
Tue, Jan 26 2016We have our first interior images of the next-generation Porsche Panamera. Caught undergoing testing in what looks like the area around Ann Arbor, MI, Porsche's second-gen sedan ditches the multitude of buttons found on the center stack of today's cars in favor of touch-capacitive controls. The new look works on the interior. It's clean and stylish, and the overall layout is clearly inspired by the Panamera Sport Turismo concept. We're particularly fond of of one of the features absent on the concept car – the wide, high-resolution infotainment screen. Judging by the lack of a dedicated controller on the center stack and the screen's proximity to where the driver's right hand would be, this is almost certainly a touchscreen. According to our spies, the software on that screen will be shared with Bentley, as will the Panamera's underlying platform. The new steering wheel, meanwhile, looks like it's been plucked straight from the 918 Spyder. There's a very visible protrusion at the four-spoke wheel's four o'clock position, and the button layout on the spokes looks identical to the hybrid hypercar. On the 918, this controller manages the hybrid systems, but as our spies claim this is the gas-powered Turbo S model, we aren't really sure what role it will play as we can clearly see drive mode controls on the center console. Speaking of the Sport Turismo, this prototype backs up the argument that the next Panamera will adopt the cleaner look of the 2012 Paris Motor Show concept. Even with the camouflage, the C-pillar and rear quarter window, squared-off trunk aperture, and the four LED accents in the headlights are clearly inspired by the Sport Turismo. However, the concept's most dramatic feature – its strong hatchback profile – doesn't seem to have made the transition into this prototype. We'd expect to see the new Panamera in either Geneva or Paris. The Swiss show is the unlikely choice, though, considering it's just over a month away and Porsche already has another big debut planned. So expect the new Panamera in the City of Light. Sales should begin some time in 2017.
