Here is a wonderful opportunity to acquire a simply spectacular Porsche Speedster manufactured by Automobili Intermeccanica.  One of 608 Series Two cars built by the factory between 1976 and 1980, fully restored and updated in 2006.  Automobili Intermecannica was and is the premier manufacturer of  near exact examples of Porsche's famous Speedster series. Originally manufactured in Italy and now in North America their exclusive line of quality built tribute vehicles are unsurpassed in originality and performance. Everywhere you look you will see their attention to detail so exact  that only the most knowledgeable of enthusiasts will realize it is not an original example. The addition of classic 1950's and 60's California rally and race plaques along with Lime Rock and Watkins Glen drivers discs only reinforce the authenticity of this Speedster.

Always a California car until last July, never abused, attended to by one owner for 26 years. Recent updates include rebuilt 1776 cc high performance flat four, dual Weber carbs, performance exhaust, new clutch, Bilstein shocks, disc brakes, Show quality paint, premium leather and vinyl tan interior. Ventilated seats, German square weave carpet, original tan canvas top, top boot, tonneau cover and side curtain bag.

Runs extremely strong, handles and performs better than an original. Needs nothing and ready to be enjoyed. There are other Speedster's on the market but none except an original can offer a driver the experience this one can. If you are looking for an automobile which affords the upmost in drivers satisfaction, was manufactured in an era when classics were born, exudes prestige when driven and shown, all at an affordable price, please consider this car.

I am not a dealer, just an individual who collects exceptional and interesting motorcars. Bid with confidence, you will not be disappointed. Please review my feedback, I am extremely proud to have offered enthusiasts like myself the opportunity to acquire vehicles I have searched for and enjoyed. Road & Track names its 2013 Performance Car of the Year

Thu, 14 Nov 2013

Road & Track recently staged its first annual Performance Car of the Year test, pitting 13 new and updated performance cars against each other on track, then graduating the top six to a road test before picking a winner. Additionally, the magazine staff picked the best automobiles of the year in eight categories.
But first, let's cover the PCotY segment. Here's the list of cars brought to the comparison test: Audi R8 V10 Plus; BMW 435i; BMW M6 Competition Package; Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z51; Ferrari F12 Berlinetta; Ford Fiesta ST; Jaguar F-Type V8 S; Jaguar XFR-S; Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S-Model Wagon; Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series; Mini John Cooper Works GP; Nissan GT-R Track Edition; and Porsche Cayman S.
To find out the results of the comparison, head over to Road & Track's website or check the press release below, where you'll also find the magazine's top-rated vehicles in eight categories. Want more? Head over to the 2013 PCotY hub. But before you do that, take a stab at guessing the winner of PCotY (we'll give you one hint: it isn't a Porsche).

Porsche Cayman S and Caterham 7 go head to head on the drag strip

Fri, 27 Jun 2014

We recently saw the standard Porsche Cayman go up against a Subaru WRX STI in a one-mile drag race with surprising results. Apparently, Evo had a similar idea of evaluating the Cayman's quickness. However, it opted for the more powerful S model and chose a flyweight Caterham Roadsport 140 as the challenger. Will the results of this battle be as close at the end of the kilometer-long (0.62-mile) drag?
Neither of these are cars you'd usually associate with drag racing, but they are nearly evenly matched. Evo selected them based on power-to-weight ratio, with the Caterham offering a scant 140 horsepower in a lithe 1,213-pound package. The Porsche is a quite svelte 2,910 pounds but has 325 hp to haul it around.
Of course, power-to-weight ratio isn't everything. There are a ton of other variables like aerodynamics and gearing that play a huge role, as well. Can the little Caterham's weight advantage overcome the better aero and additional power of the Porsche? Scroll down watch the video and find out.

Petrolicious explores long-term living with Porsche's 914/6

Thu, 15 May 2014

After its last video starred none other than the spectacular Ferrari 250 GTO, where was there for the video team at Petrolicious to go? Certainly, in the realm of classics, there are only a few other vehicles that can match the badge and pedigree of the ultra-rare Ferrari. Maybe a Jaguar D-Type or an Aston Martin DBR1? No, this latest video doesn't star either of those British icons. It stars an oft-misunderstood, occasionally derided entry from Germany's most sporting manufacturer - Porsche.
Yes, we've gone from a Ferrari 250 GTO to a Porsche 914/6. As is often the case with Petrolicious, though, the story told about the car by its owner are often more important than the make or model of car being highlighted. That's exactly the case here, as Jack Griffin talks about the 38 years he's spent with this particular Porsche.
Having been born into the Volkswagen fold and introduced to Porsche in the best way possible - behind the wheel of a 356 - Griffin has some interesting stories (including his attempt at running the 12 Hours of Sebring), and he knows a fair bit about some of the 914's attributes.
