1999 Pontiac Grand Am Se Sedan 4-door 3.4l Pick-up Only on 2040-cars
Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States
1999 Pontiac Grand Am V6 4-door SE sedan. Excellent WINTER Car. Always starts easy in any subzero temp. Newer International Biggest best Cold Cranking Amp battery. Handles well in the snow, and has newer front strut assemblies and tires. Just a little body damage on the exterior and the usual rusty spots of this era model make it bargain priced. Regular maintenance done and oil changes done with full synthetic. Heater, AC and blower fan all work good. All electric window and door locks, power seat, mirrors, cruise control, gas gauge are all in perfect working order. Only aggravation for me is the light on the clock radio tape deck has recently burnt out. Coolant has been changed back to Prestone (the secret to avoiding the head-gasket leaks do to incompatibility with the corrosive Dexcool...thanks GM). AND it runs cooler than it did with Dex. Transmission is in better shape than most because it has had a tranny cooler since 2000. Never used for much of any towing. The hitch was utilized more for a bike rack a half dozen times. Was a low mileage program car I bought from the dealership in ND in 1999. Mileage is subject to change, as I still like driving it occasionally, still has lots of power and drives tight. As far as oil consumption, the car does not burn or leak oil. Gas mileage is as good as when I bought it, around 28 mpg on regular unleaded 87octane. Vehicle now has 173,350 miles on it. I have a new replacement headlight to throw in. Haven't installed it because it needs a front header assembly and a bumper cover. Hood is functioning and the creased corner is bent back up into shape to accept the new parts installation. Not a big project. Ironically, after this long winded ramble, I don't have the resource of time to do it myself, but I would put a new aftermarket black primed bumper cover on and just put a 2 piece Bra on it, would cover all the damaged hood front. DIY fix. Good Luck

Even Ferrari swept up in latest Takata recall expansion
Fri, May 27 2016The scope of Takata's deadly airbag problems continues to widen. Eight manufacturers announced recalls Friday that affect more than 12 million vehicles, according to documents filed with federal regulators. The automakers include Honda, which is recalling 4.5 million units, Fiat Chrysler with 4.3 million, Toyota with 1.65 million, and Subaru, which is recalling almost 400,000. Some of these cars include the Saab 9-2x and Pontiac Vibe that Toyota and Subaru made for General Motors. Mazda will recall 730,000 vehicles and Nissan has 400,000 affected units. The smallest numbers were posted by Mitsubishi, with 38,000 Lancers manufactured from 2006 to 2007, and as a noteworthy high-end manufacturer, Ferrari is calling back 2,800 vehicles. These are all US-market cars. Beyond America, the Japanese Transport Ministry has announced seven million additional vehicles will be recalled, which means 19.6 million vehicles across the globe are affected by recalls announced. The defects have been traced to an insufficiently manufactured airbag inflator, which lacks a drying agent that would prevent the inflators from deteriorating over time. Thirteen deaths have been linked to the faulty airbags, which have become unstable and are prone to exploding and showering vehicle occupants with lethal amounts of metal shrapnel. A private equity firm, KKR & Co., has been named in a possible buyout of the struggling Takata. Want to buy a worst-in-show-winning Faux Ferrari Fiero?
Mon, Aug 31 2020UPDATE: This heap sold for $5,001. But don't fret, there are more terrible cars out there for the taking if that's your thing. Today we bring you something truly terrible. It's not just a fake Ferrari built on the guts of an old Pontiac Fiero, it's actually the world's worst fake Ferrari built on the guts of an old Pontiac Fiero. And it's got the award from the Concours d'Lemons to prove it. It's so heinous, in fact, that it has somehow managed to become desirable, at least judging by the bidding history of this bright red affront to Maranello. Powered by a 140-horsepower 2.8-liter V6 engine (covered by an unconvincing and broken fake V12 cover) hooked to an automatic gearbox, this gloriously poor Prancing Horse won't be winning many stoplight drag races. There are bundles of stray wires hanging down from the dashboard, it has high mileage, most of its lights don't work, and it's ugly. Like, really ugly. And to top it off, this Fauxrarri can't currently be registered in its home state of California because it has failed its most recent smog test. Put simply, you're looking at a total piece of junk. But a piece of junk with internet notoriety, having been featured on an episode of Jay Leno's Garage after attending the 2019 Quail Motorsports Gathering — by mistake at first, and then earning a special place next to the porta potties — being the focus of a video series on YouTube and winning the aforementioned ribbon for Worst in Show at Lemons. Somehow, bidding has topped $4,000 at the time of this writing. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. STUDY: Ford owns brand loyalty in 2009; Scorned Saturn, Pontiac buyers will look outside of GM
Fri, 16 Oct 2009Ford buyers appear to love their cars more than customers of any other automotive brand, returning back to the American automaker when it comes time to purchase their next vehicle. According to a study by Experian Automotive, six of the top 10 vehicles for customer brand loyalty wear badges from the Blue Oval. That includes the Ford Fusion (62.4 percent), Ford Edge (57.9 percent), Ford Five Hundred/Taurus (56 percent), Ford Freestyle (51.9 percent), Ford Escape (49.4 percent) and the Ford Focus (47.57 percent).
Other vehicles making up the top 10 include the Toyota Prius (52 percent), Chevy Impala (51.7 percent), Toyota Camry (47.8 percent) and Toyota Corolla (47.56 percent). This brings up an interesting question: With the closing of automotive brands like Saturn and Pontiac, where are those buyers to turn for their next automotive purchase?
Apparently, not back to General Motors. According to Experian, Pontiac owners are most likely to look to the Ford lineup for their next car or truck and Saturn shoppers will switch to Toyota or Honda - not particularly surprising given that Saturn was meant to compete with import brands. Experian predicts that GM's overall market share will fall from 20 percent to about 17.5 percent, with most of the slack being picked up by Ford, Honda and Toyota.
