1991 Pontiac Firebird Base Coupe 2-door 3.1l on 2040-cars
Waterloo, Iowa, United States
This car spent about 9 of it's years in Arizona. The previous owner
before me had it for about 12 years and did not drive it in the winter.
He gave me 12 years of receipts for the maintenance he did on the car.
The cars body is in good shape. It has the 3.1L 6 cylinder motor with 189xxx miles. One of the
headlights sometimes need help raising up. The car recently has had: new rear
shoes, drums, and wheel cylinders, serpentine belt, exhaust, oil and
transmission fluid changed, ignition lock tumbler changed, headlight switch changed. The driver door shuts fine but is about 1/4 inch off square. I changed the pins and bushings but it still is a little off. The hatch back door is also misaligned and makes it hard to shut...so I never open it. The gas cap leaks it you fill it up to the top. I have tried three different gap caps but it still leaks. The tires are in good shape. It has an after
market Pioneer deck. The air conditioning does work, but it will not hold a charge (o-rings
may need to be replaced). The interior is acceptable for being 22 years
old. Even though it has some superficial issues that I have identified, it still runs and drives good.
The NADA average retail is $4600.

GM expands headlight recall to 180k Buicks and Pontiacs
Thu, Aug 20 2015General Motors is issuing an expanded headlight module recall to include 180,504 examples in North America of the 2005 Buick LaCrosse (2008 model year pictured above) and 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix. Specifically, the campaign affects 159,584 of them in the US and 20,920 in Canada. When the part fails, the vehicles' low beams can stop working either intermittently or permanently. "GM is unable to confirm any crashes, injuries or fatalities related to this condition," the company said in a statement, and there's currently no permanent repair for the problem. For now, dealers will replace the headlamp module with a new example of the same part. The automaker first announced this campaign in November 2014 when it affected 316,357 examples globally of the 2006-09 Buick LaCrosse; 2006-2007 Chevy TrailBlazer and TrailBlazer EXT; 2006-2007 GMC Envoy and 2006 GMC Envoy XL; 2006-2007 Buick Rainier; 2006-2008 Saab 9-7X; and 2006-08 Isuzu Ascender. Looking back at Oprah's free-car giveaway 10 years later

Oprah kicked off her 19th season in dramatic fashion by giving all 276 members of the studio audience a free car.
Molly Vielweber's Pontiac G6 appears unremarkable at first glance. It wears forest green paint, rolls on five-spoke aluminum wheels, and it has a sizeable scrape in the driver's side door, the scar of a decade's worth of hard use. You wouldn't notice it parked at a big box store or cruising on the highway. Pontiac made hundreds of thousands of G6s in the 2000s, and a lot are still on the road. It's unremarkable in every way except for the front license plate, which reads, "Oprah 6."
Pontiac Firebird in latest Generation Gap scrap
Tue, 30 Sep 2014Generation Gap is mining the Lingenfelter collection again this week to compare two very different interpretations of the Pontiac Firebird. An original 1968 example goes toe-to-toe with a 2010 Lingenfelter Trans Am to see whether the old man or the modern re-imagining takes the crown.
Being from the Lingenfelter collection, both cars are absolutely immaculate. The '68 packs a Pontiac 350-cubic-inch (5.7-liter) V8 with a claimed 320 horsepower and some classic, muscular style with a hood-mounted tach. Plus, it's painted in an understated shade of green that you don't usually see.
In the other corner is Lingenfelter's pumped-up take on the classic shape based on the modern Camaro, and this is just one of six concept versions ever made. It wears an eye-catching, vintage-inspired livery of blue with a white stripe package. Under its shaker hood is a 455-cubic-inch (7.5-liter) V8 with a reported 655 hp and 610 pound-feet of torque.
