 1971 Pontiac Firebird Formula 350

-Real Formula 350 car
-Very strong running original engine, rebuilt several years ago with high quality internal parts (TRW pistons etc.) topped with Edelbrock intake and Holly Carb
-Automatic transmission with Hurst "His and Hers" Dual Gate Shifter (Original Equipment)  shifts firm, no sloppyness
-Weld Wheels
-Brakes work as they should
-Car drives straight
-Very solid body with super minimal rust (the tiny spot in front of the passenger wheel is the worst), solid floor pans, see the pictures, I took pics of the all the bad spots on the car so there will be no surprises when you come to pick it up
-needs paint
-interior very dirty and worn, will need to be gone through, some of the interior metal pieces have surface rust on them from condensation inside the car while it was sitting, nothing is rotten, it will just need to be removed, scuffed up and repainted
-car was sitting for a number of years but was brought out of storage, brought back to running condition, necessary parts were replaced and new mufflers were installed.  This car hasn't been on the road in Virginia since 2000 if the plates are correct, I have personally driven it about 10 miles on back roads.  It pulls hard, steers straight, stops well.  Overall, this car is a very solid start to an easy restoration and something you can have fun with and drive while you're doing the work.

Clean and clear title
Car must be picked up and paid in full within 7 days of auction end.  No warranty, no refunds, if you have questions please ask BEFORE bidding.
Reserve the right to end the auction early as car is for sale locally.

I will not ship, so local pickup only, cash in hand at pickup.
If you have any questions just ask, thanks for looking!

Rumormill: DeLorean Motor Company considering rescuing Pontiac Solstice?

DeLorean Motor Company Pontiac Solstice renderings - Click above for high-res image gallery
General Motors has made a science out of sharing platforms. So when the company's Kappa platform was introduced for a new rear-drive roadster to be distributed across three different motor divisions, you'd have figured the program was pretty safe, right? Unfortunately for the workers at the Wilmington Assembly Plant which manufactured the Kappa roadsters, those three divisions were Pontiac, Saturn and Opel - three units which the General has either sold or shut down. Which is a shame, because a perfectly good rear-drive roadster platform is a heck of a thing to waste.
In one of the strangest rumors we've heard recently, however, our compatriots over at Jalopnik report that the DeLorean Motor Company (yes, that DeLorean Motor Company) is considering buying the plant and the platform from GM and putting it back into production as a new DMC.

Howard Stern latest in Seinfeld's passenger seat for CiCGC

Thu, 06 Feb 2014

We'll be honest: the actual cars in Jerry Seinfeld's hit internet series, Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, typically take a back seat to the celebrities in the front row. Seinfeld usually throws in a few lines about his classic wheels in the first minute or so, and then moves on to the important business of sprightly conversation and pithy one-liners. It's great.
This time around, with legendary motormouth Howard Stern riding shotgun, the 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge that might have been a co-star, gets forgotten about almost completely. Instead, Stern spends a tremendous amount of screen time extolling the virtues of his therapy sessions, attempts to dive into Seinfeld's prowess as a lover and generally makes a nuisance of himself. Pretty much to plan, then.
Scroll below to hear Howard accuse Jerry of acting like Jesus, just before declaring himself the greatest radio personality in the history of the business.

This Hoonigan mechanic's twin-turbo Trans Am is wonderful

Thu, Mar 24 2016

What do you drive when you work on rally machines for a living? Probably a Subaru WRX, and that's what Gregg Hamilton had for a while until working on his car felt too much like his day job. So when he moved from New Zealand to the US to work for Ken Block (with a few stops along the way) he bought something entirely different. This is Gregg's 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. It's a throwback to another time, but it's anything but stock. It has that magic combination of a big V8 with a manual transmission and rear drive, just like the tin-top racers Gregg watched in his Kiwi youth. He bought it sight unseen from its previous owner in Alabama, and has been tinkering with it ever since. There's something about the flared wheel arches and the classic Firebird gold-striped black livery that has us smitten. Scope out the six-minute clip above from Petrolicious and see if you don't fall for Gregg's Pontiac as well.
