Don't get me wrong I love this car. Wife just wants a restauraunt. So here I am putting up for sale my 1968 Pontiac Lemans. Hardly ever drive it anyway. Car is stored out of the rain in a garage. New headliner installed and looks good. Dash is cracked up and driver seat upholstery need attention. Brand new tiger paw tires all the way around less than 100 miles on them. Car is tagged, insured, runs, and drives at about 170k on the odo. Flowmasters dump out at the muffler = very loud car. Was originally alpine blue with a white canvas top. Needs quarters, fender bottoms, and trunk pan work. Rockers and floorpans are in good shape with no visible rust through anywhere. Car comes with original rebuilt motor and what is believed to be the rebuilt original automatic trans with some racing upgrades like stall converter etc.. Haven't pulled it to be sure though. Recently got the reverse lights working again due to bad nuetral safety switch. All lights and turn signals work but the column could use a new signal switch. Car is currently missing dome light and useless spot in sintrument cluster. There is a slight kink in the hood also, could still be saved? Car has been lowered at least a couple inches in the front to give it the big block look. Bought it that way, sorry. Previous owner was running a large rear tire. Car still has adjustable rear air shocks for them though. Car still retains its original interior have original 68 AM radio for it too plus the ashtray, neither is installed however. Missing glovebox liner and factory seabelts. Will come with aftermarket seatbelts. Car is missing stock intake and carb running edelbrock 750 with an aftermarket intake. Mickey Thompson valve covers also. Heads are regular 6x head but have been ported and polished I believe. Motor was rebuilt sometime within the last 10 years and runs well suspect it's had an overbore maybe decked. Motor also has a mild cam installed, not sure on brand. Leaks a small amount of coolant from the water pump seal I believe. Nothing big just slow leak. Engine bay area actually looks pretty clean and decent despite the unfinished appeareance of the body. Car comes with complete extra set of front and rear seats from another 68 Lemans. A complete extra set of 14" rally wheels plus American Racing Aluminium Wheels (large rear tire) that fit along with the other set of Rally Wheels already on the car. Also comes with a few extra parts including the original ac compressor. Car needs wheel bearing front drivers side from the 'lowered' job done on it and one of the lug nuts stripped I haven't gotten around to replacing it yet but the stud is fine. One last thing when I got the title back from the state in my name they put a typo on the VIN so it's missing a number, but title for the Lemans is in my name. Should not be a problem had the same issue with my c-10 had to clear it up with the state, and I did. Just haven't gotten around to clearing up the typo with the state yet on the Lemans. I can fix it, just need to goto the courthouse and send off for another one with no typo. Car worth between 15 and 20k in a good market once restored well. Buyer responsible for pick up and transport of vehicle upon payment clearing. $500 non-refundable deposit due within 48 hours of auction closing. Title and vehicle transfer upon payment clearing. Car is located in Salina, KS.

Looking back at Oprah's free-car giveaway 10 years later
Fri, 12 Sep 2014
Oprah kicked off her 19th season in dramatic fashion by giving all 276 members of the studio audience a free car.
Molly Vielweber's Pontiac G6 appears unremarkable at first glance. It wears forest green paint, rolls on five-spoke aluminum wheels, and it has a sizeable scrape in the driver's side door, the scar of a decade's worth of hard use. You wouldn't notice it parked at a big box store or cruising on the highway. Pontiac made hundreds of thousands of G6s in the 2000s, and a lot are still on the road. It's unremarkable in every way except for the front license plate, which reads, "Oprah 6."
NHTSA could add 1M cars to GM recall
Wed, 13 Mar 2013
The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may expand a recall campaign for faulty brake lamps. The agency is currently looking into complaints that certain 2004-2011 Chevrolet Malibu models as well as some 2007-2009 Saturn Aura sedans may have brake lights that do not illuminate when the driver presses the pedal. Alternatively, the lamps may also illuminate without input from the driver. General Motors recalled 8,000 Pontiac G6 models from the 2005 model year for the same problem, and NHTSA is currently investigating whether to add 550,000 more G6 models built between 2005 and 2009 to the list for the same issue.
In addition, investigators are currently examining 97 complaints from Malibu and Aura owners with the same trouble. If NHTSA adds those models to the recall campaign, more than one million units could be covered. GM, meanwhile, says there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.
Watch as Hot Rod goes from El Paso to LA the hard way
Tue, 21 Feb 2012There are few things simultaneously more romantic and idiotic than taking a road trip in a beaten-down heap of a car. Trust us. We know. David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan of Hot Rod Magazine fame recently undertook an epic trip from El Paso, Texas to Los Angeles with the express goal of doing so for under $1,500, including the purchase price of a vehicle, food, lodging, repairs and, most importantly, fuel. With this in mind, the duo settled on a 1972 Pontiac Catalina for a lofty $650. Hilarity ensues.
Realizing that no one actually wants a Catalina sulking around the shop, Freiburger and Finnegan put the car up for auction on eBay Motors the instant they had the title in hand. By the time they rolled into Hot Rod HQ, the vehicle sold for a little over $500.
The video is part of a new series called Roadkill that should document similar adventures. Keep your eyes peeled for more calamity-soaked clips in the near future. In the meantime, hit the jump to check it out yourself.
