1994 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP

Hello,

You are bidding on beautiful example of a 1994 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP with 39000 original miles that comes to roughly 1950 miles a year! This car is absolutely gorgeous and has been cared for by an elderly couple before I purchased it for my collection, it is a true cream puff. This car has been in our collection for a few years now and we have enjoyed every moment of it. It shows great at our local car shows. I have decided to sell a few vehicles from my collection and this is one of them. There have been absolutely no modifications done to this car, it is completely stock.

Body:

The body on this car is extremely clean, absolutely no rust. The car is extremely straight down both sides with absolutely no waves. All of the body lines line up nice and even. The low mileage absolutely shows in the external condition of this car. It has always been store indoors and has never seen snow or rain.

Interior:

The interior in this car is in great shape. It is a great factory two town black and grey interior. The carpet has no rips or tears and still has great color. The seats have no tears or major wear and still look great. The headliner is not sagging down and is completely intact. The dash pad is not cracked. All of the lights, switches and other accessories inside of the car work well. Two sets of keys will be included and the original owners manual.

Mechanical:

The engine and transmission both run very smoothly. The engine is still extremely strong and has no hesitations at all, it starts up every time you turn the key with no problems. The transmission shifts very strong and has no hesitation or slippage at all. The tires are in great shape and are currently nitrogen filled.

You will absolutely not be disappointed with this GTP at all and it will make a great cruiser for anyone. I wish I didn't have to let it go but Im running out of space and want to move onto other projects.

If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to either message or call me at 734-604-6826. A knowledgeable and informed buyer makes for an extremely easy transaction for both of us.

GM knew about fatal Chevy ignition problem decade before recall

Fri, 21 Feb 2014

Well, this is not good for General Motors. Following a report last week that GM was recalling 778,000 Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 compacts over concerns that the ignition could switch out of the "run" position without warning, USA Today reports that the Detroit-based behemoth knew about the issue, which affected 2005 to 2007 Cobalts (the Cobalt shown above and in the gallery is from 2010) and 2007 Pontiac G5s, all the way back in 2004.
The information comes from a deposition in a civil lawsuit against GM, obtained by USA Today, which claims that a GM engineer experienced the issue while the then-new model was undergoing testing. The issue was "solved" when a technical service bulletin was issued in 2005, informing dealers to install a snap-on key cover on the cars of customers who complained about the issue. According to the Cobalt's program engineering manager, Gary Altman, the cover was an "improvement, it was not a fix to the issue."
The case where the depositions were made was from 2010, and involved Brooke Melton, a 29-year-old pediatric nurse in Georgia who was killed on her birthday. At the time, police claimed she was going too fast on a wet, rural road, although it later came out through the black box that her car's ignition had come out of the "run" position at least three seconds before the accident (the max amount of time a black box records before a wreck), disabling her airbags, power steering and anti-lock brakes. According to USA Today, police said Melton was "traveling too fast for the roadway conditions," although it's impossible to know if she'd have been in the wreck, which injured the occupants of another vehicle, had her 2005 Chevy not shut off. GM settled the Melton family's case, although the details remain confidential.

2008-2009 Pontiac G8 recalled over airbag concern

Mon, 07 Nov 2011

General Motors is recalling around 38,000 Pontiac G8 sedans from its 2008 and 2009 model years. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that the cars may have a passenger-side airbag flaw that might prevent proper deployment in certain scenarios.
According to NHTSA, the airbag might not adequately protect a fifth percentile woman - that is, a woman around four-foot, 11-inches weighing 108 pounds. The New York Times indicates that the anomaly was found during a crash test conducted by GM's Australian branch, Holden, which was testing the G8's twin (read: Commodore) for head injuries. According to that report, the test in question is specifically tailored to simulate injuries to females, so the results do not apply to men or children.
The issue has been blamed on a seat position sensor that governs airbag deployment rates. NHTSA indicates that when the front passenger seat is moved all the way forward, the faulty sensor may inappropriately trigger a 30-millisecond delay between airbag stages, potentially leading to greater injuries.

Rent the 1967 Pontiac GTO from the XxX films now on Turo

Tue, Jan 10 2017

The process of renting a car usually ranges from mildly annoying to "I'm calling corporate to get you fired." Plainly, it sucks, but sometimes you're left with no alternative. Turo, a peer-to-peer carsharing network, has created what's essentially the AirBnB for cars. Like AirBnB, the quality and variety of the rides varies based on location. If you're in Tucson, Ariz., in the next week, go check out this 1967 Pontiac GTO convertible before the release of XxX: The Return of Xander Cage. Promotions and marketing aside, this is still the opportunity to drive one of the original muscle cars. It's not clear if this is an original GTO or a Pontiac Tempest that was converted, but does it really matter? Old cars never drive as well as you hope, so, as long as it looks and sounds awesome, who cares? The owner listed on Turo is Xander C., Vin Diesel's character from the XxX franchise. This is the car that was used in the original 2002 film, and from the photos it appears to be in better shape than many other movie cars. The exterior is mostly stock, with some slight modifications to the lighting, wheels, exhaust, and trim, with the addition of a funky looking hood scoop that the listing claims shoots flames. It's not clear if it functions as an actual intake because there aren't any notes about what rests under the hood. The listing does ask for premium fuel, so more than likely it's some variation of a high-compression V8. Inside, the dashboard looks like someone raided the AutoZone accessory aisle. There are gauges, dials, toggle switches, and readouts galore. The listing also claims the Goat is packing a rocket launcher and a weapons stash under the seat. $999 per day isn't cheap, but it's less than you'd pay for a day with one of the rent-an-exotic shops you see in Los Angeles or New York. If you're not in Tucson or the price is a little too steep, Turo has what it's dubbed the Adrenaline Collection. The name may be hyperbole, but the lineup of cars is actually really solid. A quick glance reveals a 2015 Lamborghini Huracan, 2001 Ferrari 360 Spider, and a 1969 Jaguar E-Type. The car list keeps expanding, so if this proves popular, look for more cool stuff in the future.
