Description: Up for auction is a fully restored 1967 Firebird 326 with a rebuilt TH350 automatic transmission with a 3:42 rear. All new trunk, floor, quarter panels, fenders when restoration was done. Featured in Pontiac Enthusiast's Sept/Oct 2002 issue and a tribute to the end of the production of the Firebird (See pictures of the end of the picture gallery). Engine: Less than 3000 miles on a fully rebuilt 326 engine (original block and heads) bored .30 over with all new pistons, rings, bearings, cam and lifters. Heads were also rebuilt and the time of the engine. Engine runs flawlessly... Does not burn one drop of oil! This is a very quick 326 Firebird and you will be please with the power! Engine is modified but detailed very tastefully. I tried to keep it stock looking as much as possible. You can judge yourself from the pictures. Exhaust: New ceramic coated Headman Headers with Flowmaster mufflers and new exhaust pipes. Pictures show exhaust manifolds but headers are installed. Car sounds great with that distinct Pontiac sound. Body and Paint: At the time of the restoration, all new metal was replaced from the quarter panels to the floors. Fenders are GM fenders and quarter panels are full factory quarters... not patch panels! Inside of doors and door jams have no rust and are very clean and smooth. This commonly ignored when a restoration is done. Paint is great with a beautiful shine with no chips or scratches. I am careful when I drive the car... No rock chips from the pavement. Interior: All new front and rear seat covers, carpet, door panels, headliner, dash pad and sun visors. Pretty much everything inside the car has been redone and looks great. Additional Information: Firebird is a solid running car. No squeaks or rattles that will give years of enjoyment to the winning bidder. Firebird was purchased from the original owner back in 1978 and has been in the family since then. I still have the ProtectO plate and owners manual! This is your chance to own a great Pontiac muscle car without paying the price of a GTO. I will consider a trade for a 1978 or 1979 Trans Am of equal value. Immediate deposit of $500 is required at the end of auction. Please email me any questions or feel free to call me 201-951-5317. Winning bidder is responsible for shipping. Good luck!
On Nov-07-13 at 09:47:37 PST, seller added the following information: Terms: Car is accpeted is as is condition. There is no warranty. Junkyard Gem: 1991 Pontiac 6000 LE
Sat, Dec 2 2017Sibling to the Chevrolet Celebrity and Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera, the Pontiac 6000 sold pretty well during the early-to-middle 1980s, but had been relegated to the dealership bargain bin and fleet-car cul-de-sac by the time of Operation Desert Shield. Here's a final-year-of-manufacture 6000 LE that I photographed in an Arizona self-service wrecking yard. This car was sold new in Arizona, and it will be crushed in the same state, 26 years later. The LE was the cheapest trim level for the 6000 in 1991, but the original purchaser of this car sprang for a few options. For example, instead of the utterly miserable 2.5-liter Iron Duke four-cylinder, this car packs the 3.1-liter V6. That meant 140 horsepower instead of 110, plus an engine note more like a vacuum cleaner sucking up a spaghetti spill than an ailing blender chewing on walnuts. AM, FM, and cassette. Not only that, but the auto-reverse feature meant that your mixtape cassette wouldn't stop right in the middle of your favorite Roxette tune. This content is hosted by a third party. Even the wretched Daewoo-built Pontiac LeMans gets more screen time than the forgotten 6000 in this 1991 TV ad featuring the voice of Captain Picard. GM recalling another 1.3-million cars over power steering woes
Mon, 31 Mar 2014When it rains, it pours. General Motors has announced yet another major recall, covering 1.3 million units in the American market over concerns that the power steering could suddenly fail. As reported by The Detroit News' David Shepardson, GM has now recalled nearly ten times as many cars as it did all of last year.
It's important to note that should this problem arise in these cars, the steering won't fail completely, however, power steering could suddenly stop functioning. Manual steering would still be possible, but as GM says, there's an increased risk of accidents, particularly at lower speeds.
Like the ignition switch recall, this latest problem covers a wide range of vehicles from Chevrolet, Saturn and Pontiac. Normally, we'd give you the full rundown in paragraph form, but the variety of models and model years means a list is just easier. So, have a look, directly from GM's press release:
Automakers tussle over owners of 'orphan' makes
Thu, 10 May 2012When General Motors put down several of its brands in recent years, it also let loose thousands of brand-loyal customers who will eventually need another car.
R.L. Polk Associates estimates there are more than 18 million cars from 16 discontinued makes on the road today. Those "orphan owners" have sales-hungry competitors seeing dollar signs. GM is offering Saturn owners $1,000 cash toward a Chevy Cruze, Cadillac CTS or a GMC Acadia. Ford is giving its Mercury lease customers a chance to get out of their contracts with no early-termination penalty and offering to waive six remaining payments if they drive off in a Ford or Lincoln.
Edmunds.com research shows the efforts are paying off somewhat for GM, with 39 percent of Pontiac owners, 37 percent of Hummer owners and 31 percent of Saturn owners taking delivery of another GM-branded vehicle. But that leaves as much as 69 percent of owners going elsewhere. Ford, Honda and Toyota seem to be attracting many former GM owners.
