This 1986 Firebird is very clean and mechanically sound. I bought this car for my daughter to use while she went to SAIT for 2yrs. I rebuilt both the engine and transmission which have only 40,000km, replaced the front struts and brakes, and hood and hatchback struts. No leaks runs great and sounds awesome with the dual exhaust. The remote start works great she would start the car from inside the ctrain and by the time she got off and walked to her car it was warm and ready to go. I have 2 sets of tires for it, 4 Nokian winter tires and in the summer I would put the 235 50r 15's on tri spoke 10in rims on the back that I bought new when she started driving the car, approx 80% tread left on them. The Interior Is grey with bucket seats has an overhead and center console It has a Sony deck with CD player and aux jack for ipods, 4 Alpine speakers, 10 inch MTX sub with box and 200 watt MTX RoadThunder amp.The rear window has been tinted so you can't see the sub from outside and has a rear spoiler. There's a small ding on the drivers side front fender. Other than that the car is in great shape. I am asking $1999 obo. I can be reached at 403 362 2529 or my cell 403 501 0612. Thanks For Looking!

2008-2009 Pontiac G8 recalled over airbag concern
Mon, 07 Nov 2011General Motors is recalling around 38,000 Pontiac G8 sedans from its 2008 and 2009 model years. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that the cars may have a passenger-side airbag flaw that might prevent proper deployment in certain scenarios.
According to NHTSA, the airbag might not adequately protect a fifth percentile woman - that is, a woman around four-foot, 11-inches weighing 108 pounds. The New York Times indicates that the anomaly was found during a crash test conducted by GM's Australian branch, Holden, which was testing the G8's twin (read: Commodore) for head injuries. According to that report, the test in question is specifically tailored to simulate injuries to females, so the results do not apply to men or children.
The issue has been blamed on a seat position sensor that governs airbag deployment rates. NHTSA indicates that when the front passenger seat is moved all the way forward, the faulty sensor may inappropriately trigger a 30-millisecond delay between airbag stages, potentially leading to greater injuries.
GM recalls 61k more vehicles in three campaigns
Sun, 05 Oct 2014Following a stop-delivery order for its new midsize trucks and a rash of recent recalls, General Motors is issuing three more campaigns covering 60,575 vehicles in North America with 57,182 of them in the US. As of October 1, the automaker has issued a total of 74 recalls (see the ridiculously long chart to the right) this year covering 26,495,070 units in the US.
The largest campaign covers 46,873 examples in the US of the 2008-2009 Pontiac G8 and 2011-2013 Chevrolet Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle imported from Australia. It's possible for the driver's knee to hit the key and make it move from the "Run" to "ACC" position while driving. GM says its Holden division is developing a fixed-blade key that's supposed to fix the problem by only allowing it to rotate toward the "On" position. There has been one crash caused by this fault but no injuries or fatalities.
The second recall is for 10,005 units of the 2004-2007 Cadillac CTS-V and 2006-2007 Cadillac STS-V because "the fuel pump module electrical terminal may overheat." This can cause a flange to melt and allow the pump to leak fuel. GM specifies that the remedy for the CTS-V is replacing the fuel module and fuel tank jumper harness, but it doesn't specify how the STS-V is being repaired.
