Description:  This 1964 Pontiac Catalina is solid in and out.  Runs and drives as if it just came off the assembly line and starts right up without any hesitation.  This car makes for an excellent weekend cruiser and is so reliable it could also serve as a daily driver. No leaks, smoke, or stutters this car is good to go.

Motor and Trans:  The motor is a 389 cubic inch V8 with a 2 barrel carburetor and a 3 speed automatic transmission.  The motor and trans were taken out of the car and everything was gone through, all the seals and gaskets were replaced and everything is running perfectly.  The motor does not smoke or leak at all and the trans shifts fluidly through every gear.

Exterior
:  The body on this car is as straight as an arrow.  Bumpers and trim are in good condition.  The car has a fresh coat of paint too, it's a beautiful light metallic aqua blue that really pops in the sun and will be sure to get the attention of people while out cruising or at a car show.  It's just an all around nice car to look at.

Interior:  The interior is very clean, the carpet, seat upholstery, dashboard, and headliner is all there and looks great.  All of the gauges, switches, and buttons work properly and the car has a fully functional Sears air conditioning system as well that will keep you cool on those hot summer days or warm during cold winter nights.

Key Issues:
-On the left rear quarter panel there is a paint imperfection approximately 1" in size
-The bumpers have some chrome pitting but nothing serious.

**We try to the best of our ability to describe our classic vehicles as they are please note most 40-50 year old vehicles leak fluids and are not perfect. (No Smoke and Mirrors here!)  Please note: All classic cars are sold "AS IS"**

Wanted: 1967 Pontiac GTO for a special Father's Day

Thu, 07 Jun 2012

Jim Sharp of Elkhorn, Wisconsin needs a red 1967 Pontiac GTO to make his dad's Father's Day, possibly his last one, something extra special.
Back in the '60s, Jim's dad, Ken, drove a cherry red 1967 GTO to California for a job. He met a girl, got married and decided his wife's 1965 Ford Mustang was more fuel efficient than the Goat and the GTO was sold. As the story almost always goes, Ken has had seller's regret ever since.
Jim always meant to find a 1967 GTO and, with his dad's help, restore it. But life got in the way, time slipped by and Ken was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer and given about three months to live.

Lutz says Washington killed Pontiac, next G6 was to be ATS derivative

Tue, 29 Oct 2013

How many people think Buick or GMC should have gotten the axe instead of Pontiac? You can't see it, but I'm raising my hand. Autoweek reports that former Vice Chairman of GM, Bob Lutz, has indicated that things didn't have to end up the way they did.
"The Feds said, 'Yeah, how much money have you made on Pontiac in the last 10 years?' and the answer was, 'Nothing.'"
In a talk given at the Petersen Automotive Museum for the Inside the MotoMan Studio series, Lutz says "The Feds said, 'Yeah, how much money have you made on Pontiac in the last 10 years?' and the answer was, 'Nothing.' So, it goes. And when the guy who is handing you the check for $53 billion says, 'I don't want Pontiac, drop Pontiac or you don't get the money,' it doesn't take you very long to make up your mind." Lutz even added that the next-generation Pontiac G6 would have benefitted from the rear-wheel-drive platform of the Cadillac ATS. How awesome would that have been?

2008-2009 Pontiac G8 recalled over airbag concern

Mon, 07 Nov 2011

General Motors is recalling around 38,000 Pontiac G8 sedans from its 2008 and 2009 model years. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that the cars may have a passenger-side airbag flaw that might prevent proper deployment in certain scenarios.
According to NHTSA, the airbag might not adequately protect a fifth percentile woman - that is, a woman around four-foot, 11-inches weighing 108 pounds. The New York Times indicates that the anomaly was found during a crash test conducted by GM's Australian branch, Holden, which was testing the G8's twin (read: Commodore) for head injuries. According to that report, the test in question is specifically tailored to simulate injuries to females, so the results do not apply to men or children.
The issue has been blamed on a seat position sensor that governs airbag deployment rates. NHTSA indicates that when the front passenger seat is moved all the way forward, the faulty sensor may inappropriately trigger a 30-millisecond delay between airbag stages, potentially leading to greater injuries.
