This vehicle last ran when parked, about 2 years ago due to total brake pressure failure. The brakes have not been repaired. Last State inspection (PA) was 10/12. When parked, the engine consumed oil, the air conditioning blew warm air, the weatherstripping was leaking, and the intermittent feature of the wipers was not working. The in-dash fog lights button is stuck in the ON position, so the fog lights went on and off with the headlights. These things have not been repaired.
The engine barely cranks using a 200 Amp charge from a battery charger. The battery is probably dead, and the gas is probably stale. There is a crack in the windshield, a dent in the driver's door, and there are rust holes starting in the rear wheel wells. Before parking, a remanufactured engine head, a remanufactured power control module, and a remanufactured fuel pump relay were installed. The engine block was not milled when the remanufactured engine head was installed. The old engine head, fully assembled with all camshafts and valve parts, another PCM/ECU and another fuel pump relay are included. This PCM/ECU may be for an automatic or a V-6, which this vehicle does not have, however the metal "core" can be exchanged or remanufactured for this vehicle. Some lug studs and lug nuts are also included. There is a wire supporting a broken air dam mount. The interior is showing heat stress, although it's intact down to the floor mats. The spare, jack, and lug wrench are stowed properly in the hatchback. The clutch and transmission were fully operable before parking. 2 ignition keys are included along with the title . I titled this vehicle in January of 2009, when I bought it from my uncle. At that time, it showed 142,000 miles. The parts previously mentioned were installed around that time. New/remanufactured ignition parts (spark plugs, wires, and distributor assembly) and new tires were installed sometime later. The tires measure about 3/16 to 1/4 inch deep in the centers of the treads. An invoice for the remanufactured PCM/ECU shows April of 2011. Feel free to contact seller for pictures of the vehicle's passenger side, rear interior, and engine compartment. I have not added air to the tires in about 2 years and the tires are still inflated. A riding lawn mower was able to tow the vehicle in and out of its parking spot, on the paved driveway where the vehicle has been parked. The towing was on the 08/21/2014, for pictures. There was little to no slack in the steering when the vehicle was on the road. There is compressed air on seller's premises, in case buyer tows using a car dolly. This vehicle has automatic upper seat belts for both front seats, which were fully functional when the vehicle was parked. The winning bidder (buyer) must tow the vehicle from seller's premises at buyer's own expense. Repairs or maintenance work is not allowed on seller's premises. This could be a good project for anyone into the DSM body style, similar to the Eagle Talon and the Plymouth Laser. Payment in full, and vehicle pick up, are both due within 7 days auction end. Vehicle must be removed from seller's premises at time of payment. This vehicle must go, and will go. I no longer drive, and it's parked in my parent's driveway! |

NuTonomy shows that people quickly relax in autonomous cars
Thu, Oct 6 2016For six weeks, nuTonomy has had a fleet of self-driving taxis on the streets of Singapore, and it seems the experiment is already yielding useful information based on rider surveys. CEO Dr. Karl Iagnemma revealed at UPSHIFT 2016 that despite most first-time riders initially being nervous about stepping into a self-driving vehicle, the anxiety quickly fades. In fact, after a minute or two in the car, riders will relax into near boredom. Customers who ride along in either a fully autonomous Renault Zoe or a Mitsuibshi i-MiEV have been providing valuable feedback to engineers pre- and post-ride. The research and data obtained from their self-driving taxi service and the riders who use it is already being integrated into their future, Level 4 autonomous products. The Cambridge, MA, based company has also found that riders are attributing human-like characteristics to the vehicles. It seems that riders prefer when the machines don't behave like machines but more like people. NuTonomoy is tailoring their future vehicles to be less trolly-like. Iagnemma revealed that the company is in talks with other global cities to bring their autonomous products to the roads. Ghosn out at Nissan, still in at Renault, still in jail in Tokyo and facing more charges
Sun, Nov 25 2018When the corporate jet carrying Renault- Nissan- Mitsubishi CEO Carlos Ghosn landed at Tokyo Haneda airport on November 19, Japanese authorities had already taken position on the tarmac, waiting for him. Police and authorities representing Tokyo prosecutor's office boarded the plane to query Ghosn about financial improprieties, and ended up taking Nissan's chairman and CEO into custody. A few days later, on November 22, Nissan's board voted to remove Ghosn from both positions for what it classified as "significant acts of misconduct." The charges include understating his income in filings to the Tokyo Stock Exchange by at least $44 million, and misusing company funds. Japanese police arrested Greg Kelly as well, the high-ranking Nissan exec said to have assisted Ghosn in the subterfuge. Ghosn and Kelly remain on Nissan's board until a shareholder vote is held to decide those positions. Kelly was Nissan's first American director, and the carmaker's former head of human resources. In France, Renault's board voted to keep Ghosn in his positions, and has requested details from Nissan about the alleged improprieties. The board put Thierry Bollore in the role of deputy CEO with all of Ghosn's powers while Ghosn is "incapacitated," and lead independent director Philippe Lagayette will act as temporary chairman. Nissan has since told Renault that it is investigating financial malfeasance at RNBV, the Amsterdam-based joint-venture company that oversees the alliance. Mitsubishi has watched from afar, only saying it will perform its own investigation, and could remove Ghosn. Tokyo police can hold a suspect for 72 hours for initial questioning without charges. With the deadline looming, Tokyo prosecutors asked the court for, and were granted, a ten-day extension. If they choose, prosecutors can request another ten-day extension. Within 23 days, however, prosecutors either need to charge Ghosn and Kelly, or release them. There are several charges that acquire more details by the day. The most serious accusation is that Ghosn understated his pay from 2011 to 2015 by half, claiming roughly $44 million in remuneration when he actually received around $88 million. Over the weekend, it came out that Japanese prosecutors could be working on new charges of Ghosn under-reporting his salary since 2015 by $27 million. A Japanese newspaper said Ghosn told Kelly in an email to lie on the financial statements.
Mitsubishi signals the return of its Ralliart performance line
Wed, May 12 2021Mitsubishi is reportedly reviving its long-dormant Ralliart performance line, giving longtime fans of the rally-inspired nameplate hope that some fun models may one day return to the Mitsubishi lineup as part of the company's efforts "toward the realization of Mitsubishi Motors-ness," whatever that means. Per Forbes, Mitsubishi dropped this nugget during an investor call in Tokyo on Tuesday. The return of Ralliart after more than a decade in mothballs would be a pleasant surprise for Mitsubishi fans, but don't expect this to indicate a return of the old-school Lancer Evolution lineup — or anything else with four doors and a traditional trunk, for that matter. Don't believe us? Check out Mitsu's own materials: After all, rallying is largely an off-road endeavor, and with modern consumers thirsting for high-riding crossovers and SUVs, it should come as no surprise that Mitsubishi's Ralliart revival will come from that direction. In better news, it appears that Ralliart's return will include new branded parts (and accessories, we imagine), which could mean that even non-Ralliart models will get some post-delivery love. We also wouldn't be shocked (sorry) if the new vision for Ralliart is grounded (OK, we're not really sorry) in an electrification strategy. Ralliart? Perhaps more like Rall-e-art. As a matter of fact, from looking at Mitsubishi's presentation, the Ralliart news followed that of updates regarding the company's plug-in hybrid strategy.
