Hello, I had some mistakes in my original listing, so I`ll try again. This 63 Mercury is disassembled for restoration and does not run. The car is complete but in need of a total restoration This Mercury has a very nice virtually rust free body as its been in dry storage since being brought back east from California in 1984 and is loaded with very rare factory options including, power windows, power bench seat, swing a way steering column, air conditioning, duel spot light mirrors and factory script seatbelts. Some of these options I have obtained separately and were not on the car but come with it if it hits its reserve price. The chrome and stainless on this car is awesome and it comes with new old stock seat covers and a new convertible top in the box as well. I also have a correct but not numbers matching 1963 390 4bl 300HP engine and transmission for this car that is out of the car, torn down, and ready for rebuild. Also I have most of the parts off of another `63 Merc convertible plus many extra parts that I have picked up over the years. At this time I`m not interested in selling any parts and will try to post more pictures this weekend. This car has a salvage title. Please feel free to ask questions. This Mercury will make a great project and a beautiful convertible when restored! Thank you.

Report: Last Mercury for retail business built on Sunday
Mon, 04 Oct 2010Ford is already well into winding down its Mercury line, and the autoamker has announced that the very last of the soon-to-be dead brand's products built for retail sales was manufactured on Sunday, October 3. The final Mercury Mariner rolled off of the assembly line at the company's Kansas City facility, putting an end to a brand with over 70 years of history behind it.
Even after the Mariner heads off into the automotive sunset, Ford says that it will continue to manufacture a handful of Mercury models for fleet and government service for a while longer, though mum's the word on how long we can expect that practice to continue.
Interestingly enough, according to USA Today, most incentives on Mercury vehicles have all but dried up, even as the brand's August production increased by 120 percent compared to July's figures. Instead of cash on the hood, some areas are offering no-cost maintenance or similar programs. Even so, Mercury has continued to out-sell Lincoln right to the end - besting Ford's luxury arm's sales by nine percent in August.
Junkyard Gem: 1991 Mercury Capri
Mon, Sep 19 2016Ford has gotten a lot of use out of the Capri name in the United States. First, there was the Lincoln Capri in the 1950s, followed by the Ford Capri Mk1 (which was sold by Mercury dealers in the USA but never actually badged as a Mercury). Then came the 1979-1986 Mercury Capri, built on the very successful Fox Platform and essentially a clone of the Mustang. Finally, in 1991, the Australian Ford Capri came to the United States. Here is an example of this rare car that I spotted in a Northern California self-service yard not long ago. Mechanically speaking, the 1991-1994 Capri was a Mazda 323 under the skin, complete with a member of the same B-series engine family that went into such cars as the Miata and Ford Escort. So, for a few years in the early 1990s, car shoppers who wanted a sporty Mazda convertible could choose between a Miata and a Capri. The Capri had front-wheel-drive, but could be had with factory turbocharging. These cars were reliable and fun, but had a tough time competing with the Miata in the showroom battles. You'll see the occasional example now and then, but most of the 1991-1994 Capris have met the same fate that awaits this one. Related Video:
NHTSA probing 2000-2003 Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable models over throttle issue
Mon, 29 Oct 2012A potential issue with the speed control cable collar has got the 2003-20003 Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable under the spotlight of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. If the collar breaks it can cause the throttle to be stuck open.
The issue is limited to vehicles with the 3.0-liter V6 Duratec. There are just 50 complaints so far out of 310,000 cars, but the NHTSA has begun an investigation into whether a recall should be issued.
