Car has extremely low mileage for the year. I've had the car for a couple years to get me back and forth to school and I have a new car now, so this one is taking up space in the drive way. The car has been sitting since last fall.

The Good:
Ice Cold A/C
Newer water pump
Newer thermostat
New dual exhaust system
New Radiator
Low Mileage

The Bad:
Battery dead (needs to be charged from sitting)
Currently it does not have any heat.

Blown head gasket???

When I bought it in 2012 the guy told me the motor was blown up (blown head gasket). I got a good deal on it and had intensions of replacing the motor. The problem was the motor was overheating. I looked further into it and discovered the thermostat was bad and the water pump was bad. I changed those two things and I've been driving it on a daily basis until last fall.

The reason the heat does not work in it is because the previous owner put a bunch of stop leak in the system and the heater core is plugged. I've changed the heater core once and flushed it out multiple times and it's plugged up again.
The brakes need some attention in the front. Tires have about 25% left on them. This car will get you to point A to point B. There is very little rust on the car for it's age. Body is in great shape. There are some scratches and some dings throughout the body. Check engine light on. Car runs smooth. Rocker panels are a little rusty (looks like someone did previous work to them). More Pictures with requests!

The car may or may not have a blown head gasket... I've been driving the car how it is for the past two years now without any problems besides the heat. Then again, it does have stop leak in the system which could be sealing the gasket? Runs and drives great! Very reliable. Clean and clear title in hand.

Ford Recalling 70k Escape and Mariner Hybrids for cooling issue

Fri, 12 Sep 2014

Ford is recalling about 70,209 examples of the 2005-2008 Ford Escape Hybrid and the 2006-2008 Mercury Mariner Hybrid because the cooling pumps for their hybrid systems could fail.
According to the company's defect notice, it's possible for the original "Motor Electronics Coolant (MEC) Pump" to wear out and fail, which would could cause the hybrid system to overheat. If this happens, the vehicle goes into a safety mode that takes away most or all of its power. However, braking and steering still operate normally. After cooling down, the affected models restart normally. The company says that it's not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this problem.
Ford will begin repairing the vehicles in late October, and dealers will be installing improved, brushless pumps on the affected models at no charge to owners. If drivers had their pumps fail before this recall, they can contact Ford for a possible reimbursement. Scroll down to read the recall announcement from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration or download the full defect notice as a PDF, here.

Feds open investigation into Chevy Express, Ford Freestar rust issues

Wed, 28 Dec 2011

'Tis the season... for road salt. And with that, comes rust. And what does rust bring? Well, for Ford and General Motors, a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation. According to The Detroit News, NHTSA is looking into potential recalls issues with Chevrolet Express vans and Ford Freestar minivans.
The feds have received five complaints that rust has caused leaking fuel filler pipes on 2003 Express vans. Separately, seven complaints have been filed over excessive rust in the rear wheel wells of 2004 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans. The Freestar and Monterey went out of production in 2007. Neither issue has resulted in any crashes or injuries, according to the report.

More than 800,000 Fords recalled for faulty Takata airbags

Thu, Jan 12 2017

The Basics: Ford is recalling about 816,000 Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles built in the US for faulty passenger-side Takata airbags. The affected vehicles were all built in North America, with 654,695 recalled vehicles in the US and 161,174 vehicles in Canada. A wide variety of cars, trucks, and SUVs are affected. This is a planned expansion of an earlier recall. 2005-09 and 2012 Ford Mustang 2005-06 Ford GT 2006-09 and 2012 Ford Fusion 2007-09 Ford Ranger 2007-09 Ford Edge 2006-09 and 2012 Lincoln Zephyr and Lincoln MKZ 2007-09 Lincoln MKX 2006-09 Mercury Milan The Problem: Like every other Takata recall, the problem rests with faulty airbags that can potentially expel shrapnel, injuring or killing vehicle occupants. Millions of vehicles from dozens of automakers are affected, so don't think that Ford is alone on this one. Injuries/Deaths: Ford stated in a press release that there have been no injuries or death linked to the vehicles in this recall. All in all, 11 deaths and 180 injuries across a variety of automakers have been linked to these Takata airbags. The fix: Ford will contact owners soon, and the affected vehicles will have their airbags replaced by a dealer at no additional charge. If you own one: Wait for contact from Ford, then head to the dealer to get a replacement. If you're wondering if your vehicle is affected, go to this Ford website and enter their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). The recall reference number is 17S01.
