I am offering for sale my 2001 CL600 that has been Mercedes Benz Serviced all of it's existence because it had an extended Mercedes Warranty until 129,000 miles. Non smoker or pets car. The car was just serviced using Mobil 1 Synthetic Oil with Mann oil filter. New Mann air filters. 24 Bosch Iridium Super Spark Plugs. 2 New Cabin Filters. 2 New Charcoal Cabin Filters. New Radiator Fan with fan control module. The car had a new oil cooler and head gaskets done at 97k. It has had the new ignition coils on both sides updated. 3 of the 4 air suspension shocks are done including the main suspension distribution block. The wheels are new factory Mercedes 2001 CL600 wheels with new chrome plating (500 miles ago) and are stunning. I transferred my tires that are decent to the newly chromed wheels. The seats are all like brand new and feel like brand new as well. The leather dash board, rear leather dash and door panels are in superb condition. New factory Mercedes floor mats were just installed from Mercedes Benz. It smells factory fresh like a brand new Mercedes smells. The motor pulls strong!! 362 HP ad 391 Torque 0-62 in 5.8 seconds!! This is one of 2 years that the car goes into 6 cylinder mode (Active Cylinder Control) on the highway to optimize fuel mileage. The car gets 20 MPG I would say. The transmission shifts properly in all gears. The transmission also works as auto stick. All of the traction control features work properly. The suspension feels great. A wonderful feature of this car is how the car stays flat when cornering, accelerating or braking due to the air suspension keeping it level. It's called Active Body Control and it's amazing! The drilled rotors are smooth and the Brembo calipers are all working great with 90% pad on all of the Mercedes Pads. The transmission has had a pilot bearing at 100,000. The trunk is power open and close with new rams, and motor that operates the opening and closing feature. The trunk, spare and tools are all spotless. The paint on the car is factory metallic and is really sharp. The factory color of the car looks black but when in light or sun it has metallic that shimmers. It is polished like a mirror from top to bottom. The body has plastic and aluminum panels. Around the roof area the little chips that have been cleaned then touched up and look fine. The headlights are crystal clear. The front fenders are plastic and are fragile. The front of the bumper was bumped down low from a curb and that upwards motion of the bumper cracked the fenders (common on the CL) . I have a tiny crack less than an inch on the passenger side and a few inches on drivers side. The body shop uses fiberglass to reinforce the fender an then they repair the crack. There is no structure damage on this car. The Bose sound system sounds wonderful. CD changer works as it should. The car has the navigation disks 1-10 missing disk 9. Down low below the clear part in the black section of the windshield has a stone chip that traveled left to right. The keyless fob does not lock the doors. I had one of the door lock actuators replaced and the drivers side one is fine. Here's some features of the car: Cooled seats with 8 fans per seat, heated seats, massaging seats, lumbar, 12 way power front seats. Navigation that also displays on the instrument cluster. Automatic trunk closing and opening. One touch windows and sunroof, Bose system that sounds incredible! K40 Radar detector that is a built in unit installed into the car years ago but still works. Xenon headlights and much more! I have the car in my Dealership name so I am able to offer the new owner a 48 month Unlimited Mileage Warranty through Penn Warranty for $845 which is Dealer cost. 1 Year Unlimited Mileage is $475. Optional of course. In conclusion, oil cooler, ignition coil packs, fan w/ module, suspension shocks, door lock actuator diaphragms and POOR or lack of servicing are COMMON faults on the CL regardless of age. Mine is Mercedes Dealer Serviced and common issues are done, $23,000 invested since 2011 and you can view the receipts below. The car was owned by a NFL Buffalo Bills player Sean Doctor. You really have to be behind the wheel to get the experience of a lifetime. Amazing is an understatement.. Clear lien free New York State title in my hand. No extra fees or rules in my auction. The car is like a Corvette, Viper, Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini, Lotus, BMW, Porsche, Rolls Royce, Bentley all in one. photo IMG_5566_zps9a8a6387.jpg photo IMG_5571_zps1c718f77.jpg photo IMG_5572_zpsbb128177.jpg photo IMG_5573_zps1a00952c.jpg photo IMG_5574_zps38add63b.jpg photo IMG_5575_zps9f066b06.jpg photo IMG_5576_zps33607561.jpg photo IMG_5460_zps55937a5c.jpg photo IMG_5578_zps74ce006c.jpg photo IMG_5586_zpsef21638a.jpg photo IMG_5587_zpseb7b677a.jpg photo IMG_5631_zpsbcff0a01.jpg photo IMG_5432_zps6e19782c.jpg photo IMG_5433_zpscc18623f.jpg photo IMG_5434_zps39bc4532.jpg photo IMG_5438_zpsd2b4a7aa.jpg photo IMG_5439_zps6a49a1ad.jpg photo IMG_5440_zpsf2f0ea29.jpg photo IMG_5441_zps60e190ae.jpg photo IMG_5442_zpsa2fffc19.jpg photo IMG_5447_zps86566e20.jpg photo IMG_5448_zps2eb6ffa6.jpg photo IMG_5449_zps5bac3695.jpg photo IMG_5450_zpsc4dc6bfc.jpg photo IMG_5451_zpsc81e220e.jpg photo IMG_5452_zps4fb74b31.jpg photo IMG_5453_zpsc26e1fb9.jpg photo IMG_5454_zpsc8202c3b.jpg photo IMG_5455_zps5a529a06.jpg photo IMG_5497_zps6880bcd6.jpg photo IMG_5590_zps58629719.jpg photo IMG_5498_zpsab61b780.jpg photo IMG_5589_zpse2f6d3b5.jpg photo IMG_5588_zps33cda625.jpg photo IMG_5591_zpsee3387ce.jpg photo IMG_5592_zps0df346a3.jpg photo IMG_5482_zps0cb0842a.jpg photo IMG_5487_zps49951f24.jpg photo IMG_5488_zps7509e748.jpg photo IMG_5490_zps045a9441.jpg photo IMG_5530_zpsa18c445c.jpg photo IMG_5580_zpsd91c09d8.jpg photo IMG_5617_zps214ffc04.jpg photo IMG_5616_zps11b7b5ef.jpg photo IMG_5581_zps598182ee.jpg photo IMG_5579_zpsfc5a9d1f.jpg photo IMG_5543_zps06bb928d.jpg photo IMG_5544_zps68a298a9.jpg photo IMG_5545_zps979d3494.jpg photo IMG_5599_zps54c01e4c.jpg photo IMG_5620_zps1b49b496.jpg photo IMG_5600_zpscdbc989d.jpg photo IMG_5602_zpse565e348.jpg photo IMG_5623_zpsa1dd11c7.jpg photo IMG_5603_zps8381dafc.jpg photo IMG_5601_zps0864424e.jpg photo IMG_5618_zpsd8db961e.jpg photo IMG_5619_zps4d1d90db.jpg photo IMG_5624_zpsf5106513.jpg photo IMG_5627_zps35804be0.jpg photo IMG_5628_zpsbd66bbd8.jpg photo IMG_5604_zps54ec0172.jpg photo IMG_5582_zps62a68ee8.jpg photo IMG_5480_zps44827b93.jpg photo IMG_5622_zpse8f804b6.jpg photo IMG_5499_zps41f64a9f.jpg photo IMG_5583_zpsd719361a.jpg photo IMG_5615_zps7ef4c09c.jpg photo IMG_5584_zpsb74b252d.jpg photo IMG_5585_zps97e72670.jpg photo IMG_5605_zpse957ace8.jpg photo IMG_5606_zps31c81350.jpg photo IMG_5513_zpsb8a75997.jpg photo IMG_5607_zpse92c625b.jpg photo IMG_5507_zps732301cc.jpg photo IMG_5508_zps165e5b25.jpg photo IMG_5506_zps53ffc1cd.jpg photo IMG_5621_zps6bb74228.jpg photo IMG_5510_zps86972bb1.jpg photo IMG_5470_zpsd6d9e776.jpg photo IMG_5472_zps54e1194d.jpg photo IMG_5473_zpsea477c92.jpg photo IMG_5474_zpsdaa86a9b.jpg photo IMG_5475_zps34d44c1a.jpg photo IMG_5476_zpse0716289.jpg photo IMG_5608_zps0af1a243.jpg photo IMG_5609_zps74a90915.jpg photo IMG_5610_zps819feed1.jpg photo IMG_5524_zps32d3c5af.jpg photo IMG_5593_zpsc29fd758.jpg photo IMG_5594_zpsd243d7b8.jpg photo IMG_5595_zpsbcb37ff3.jpg photo IMG_5596_zpsf17f5429.jpg photo IMG_5532_zps404ab037.jpg photo IMG_5531_zps40bc8b15.jpg photo IMG_5533_zps501ef4e8.jpg photo IMG_5534_zpsa86f5ae8.jpg photo IMG_5535_zpsffa8c7a2.jpg photo IMG_5536_zps0397cf86.jpg photo IMG_5537_zpsed08cd0d.jpg photo IMG_5538_zps9641c34b.jpg photo IMG_5539_zps3e2825e3.jpg photo IMG_5540_zpsff35cb3f.jpg photo IMG_5629_zps90485489.jpg photo IMG_5630_zps0a5ff398.jpg photo IMG_5561_zpsf2b4c6ac.jpg photo IMG_5632_zps28fadc79.jpg photo IMG_5597_zpsfc47fee1.jpg photo IMG_5516_zps3dd19e48.jpg photo IMG_5519_zps6d9631c3.jpg photo IMG_5515_zpsebf4572f.jpg photo IMG_5517_zps05734ad8.jpg photo IMG_5518_zpse6efad41.jpg photo IMG_20130829_104443_610_zps0ccfcb9a.jpg photo IMG_20130829_104533_488_zps7152c3da.jpg photo IMG_20130829_104639_322_zps00728eed.jpg photo IMG_5633_zps0123abc1.jpg photo IMG_5634_zps56ec52d4.jpg photo IMG_5635_zps58e956d3.jpg photo IMG_5636_zps37e881e7.jpg photo IMG_5637_zps58b44d15.jpg photo IMG_5638_zps6bb68aa3.jpg photo IMG_5639_zpsa0956376.jpg photo IMG_5640_zpsd1d9da45.jpg photo IMG_5641_zps95514cad.jpg photo IMG_5642_zps9fbc7f44.jpg photo IMG_5643_zps5bdcd80a.jpg photo IMG_5644_zpsf9434fe8.jpg photo IMG_5645_zps21e83e2c.jpg photo IMG_5646_zps4de52497.jpg photo IMG_5647_zps9ce5b64a.jpg photo IMG_5648_zps67906774.jpg photo IMG_5649_zps198cea3d.jpg photo IMG_5650_zpseb2fbfba.jpg photo IMG_5651_zpsee0c0ce3.jpg photo IMG_5652_zps79cc79eb.jpg photo IMG_20130716_192303_767_zpsfe59dd56.jpg photo IMG_20130926_161643_122_zpse832cbf5.jpg photo IMG_20130926_161704_745_zps787d4683.jpg photo IMG_20130928_091719_138_zps1b8ffbf5.jpg photo IMG_20130914_184728_081_zpsffaf6515.jpg

2016 Japanese Grand Prix | Hamilton faces the beginning of the end

Mon, Oct 10 2016

We're told the Japanese mamushi viper haunts the undergrowth around Suzuka. If the pit viper attended the weekend's Japanese Grand Prix, it avoided human visitors but it put a nasty bite on Lewis Hamilton's championship hopes. The Briton, lined up second on the grid next to Mercedes-AMG Petronas teammate Nico Rosberg, flubbed his start. By the end of Turn 1 Hamilton was in eighth. Hamilton didn't suffer alone. The beginning of the race was a melee; many of the leaders got caught out either by the damp track or by having to swerve around slow starters. Only Mercedes' Nico Rosberg and Red Bull's Max Verstappen took off clean. The German rolled up another lights-to-flag victory despite the pass-happy race happening behind him. Rosberg was as unbothered by the Dutchman in second place as he was by the official Formula 1 camera feed. Verstappen didn't have much work to do until the final ten laps of the race. Thanks to the Mercedes team's strategy – or Ferrari waiting too long to pit – Hamilton got up to third on Lap 36 of 53. Unable to make a DRS-enabled pass on Verstappen down the front straight toward the end of the race, the Mercedes driver took a creative line through Spoon corner. Closing in down the back straight, Hamilton jinked inside to try a pass through the final chicane. Verstappen moved over in the braking zone while Hamilton was still behind him, closing the door on the move. Hamilton protested over his team radio, but seemed resigned to a third place finish after the incident – he didn't try any more passes in the final laps. The Ferrari duo of Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen crossed the line fourth and fifth, respectively, in recovery drives after penalties. The scuderia tried an aggressive final stint after Hamilton successfully undercut Vettel in the pits. Ferrari put Vettel on the soft-compound Pirellis so he could hunt the Mercedes, but after a few laps of close pursuit the tires gave up and Vettel fell back. Daniel Ricciardo couldn't get comfortable in his Red Bull the entire weekend. The Aussie finished where he started, in sixth place. Sergio Perez and Nico Hulkenberg followed the Red Bull home in two-up formation for Force India, Williams doing the same in the final two points-paying positions with Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas. Rosberg's 23rd career victory – his ninth of the season and first ever in Japan – puts him 33 points ahead of Hamilton in the Driver's Championship with four races left.

Mercedes-AMG GT3 opts for big displacement without a turbo

Fri, Feb 27 2015

There was a time when there were numerous categories in sports car racing: GT1, GT2 , GT3... but these days they've all been amalgamated into the latter. That's left a GT3 class packed with competitors and possibly more contentious than ever before. What you see here is Mercedes' new challenger, in official form after being leaked earlier today by the French website Le Point. Replacing the SLS AMG GT3 that won its class (among other races) the Nurburgring 24 Hours in 2013 is the new Mercedes-AMG GT3. Set to be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show, it's the racing version of the new Mercedes-AMG GT, and aside from looking the business, it has the makings of a highly competitive entry. As you can see, it sits closer to the track surface than the road-going version, and packs more extreme aero – including a front splitter you could serve dinner off of, little winglets to deflect the air away from the front tires, deep side sills, a massive rear wing and (though we can't see it presently) what promises to be a very large rear diffuser. It's also got more ventilation to feed the engine and cool the brakes, and a stripped-out cabin with full roll cage and a steering device that's long since evolved beyond resembling an actual "wheel." To save weight, Mercedes has redone many of the panels out of carbon fiber, but one of the most intriguing elements is what you'd find under that woven hood: instead of adapting the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 from the road-going GT, AMG has slotted in the larger atmospheric 6.3-liter V8 from the outgoing racer – coupled to a six-speed sequential gearbox. With its new GT3 entry, Mercedes surely hopes to take a slice of the customer racing market that Porsche in particular has developed into a successful and profitable business over the years. Racing fans, however, will be more interested to see how this puppy fares at Le Mans, the Nurburgring, the Blancpain sprint and endurance series, the United SportsCar Championship, the FIA World Endurance Championship and countless national series around the world. It'll have tough competition on its hands, though, from the likes of the Porsche 911 RSR, Audi R8 LMS, Bentley Continental GT3, Ferrari 458 Italia GT3, McLaren 650S GT3, Lamborghini Huracan GT3 and countless others that battle for glory on a racetrack somewhere on any given Sunday. World premiere in Geneva for spectacular AMG racing car All-out attack : the new Mercedes-AMG GT3 Affalterbach.

Mercedes-AMG GT3 photos hit the web

Thu, Feb 26 2015

Yesterday, the first shot of the next-generation Audi R8 hit the web hours before its official debut. Today, it appears the same thing is happening with photos of the Mercedes-AMG GT3, thanks to French website Le Point. Surprisingly for a vehicle designed as a single-minded track machine, Mercedes is injecting some serious style into the GT3. The rounded, vertical slats in the grille evoke the look of the original 300SL racer. In profile, the styling of the roadgoing AMG GT is retained but with the addition of a circuit-hugging body kit and huge wing at the rear to keep in planted. The interior is similarly purposeful. Along with these leaked photos, Le Point claims that the GT3 ditches the standard GT's twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 in favor of a naturally aspirated 6.3-liter V8 sourced from the SLS AMG GT3. The aluminum platform underneath is also taken from the regular GT, but practically every exterior panel is reportedly replaced with carbon fiber to cut weight. The racer also keeps the double-wishbone suspension at all four wheels. While these specs are still unconfirmed, Mercedes definitely has a beautiful track machine on the way with the GT3. We look forward to seeing it in person in Geneva.
