You are looking at my 1999 C43 AMG. Bought from the original owner last year and was stored under a car cover in the garage during winter.
This car has extremely low original 67k highway miles. Only 1500 units were brought to the United States which makes this car rare and extra special.
The color is Obsidian Black over black Napa leather. There are no tears or rips in the leather. Everything works as it should.
Have almost all receipts of parts and work from recent extensive maintenance done which adds up to over 3k. Msrp when new was $55,385. Car drives great.
I had some paint work done due to some rust but I assure you this car has never been in a accident.
There is little rust on the rear passenger side quarter that the body shop missed but its not bad.
Could use some we sanding and buff (local body shop didn't do the greatest job) but looks very good for a 14 year old car.
Clean title in hand and no stories. Mileage will slightly increase as I'm still driving it.
I have described the car to the best of my abilities. Reason for selling is I'm moving for business and can't take the car with me.
I accept cash upon pickup only! NO RESERVE! Any questions please let me know.

Mercedes S-Class Magic Body Control ad is clucking awesome

Tue, 24 Sep 2013

This is a new ad from Mercedes-Benz. At no point does it show an automobile. Instead, it stars animals, but not the sort you might normally see in car commercial. This ad is all about chickens. It is bizarre, to say the least, with Diana Ross and the Supremes belting it out in the background, but it all kind of comes together when you realize just what Mercedes is hawking (yeah, pun intended).
It's for the manufacturer's Magic Body Control, found on the new S-Class. The system basically analyzes the road and prepares the suspension accordingly, leading to a ride that is, in the words of our own Chris Paukert "nothing short of spooky." You can read about it in our full review of the 2014 S550. Take a look below for the 53-second spot.

Why it's difficult to accurately test the efficiency of a plug-in car

Thu, Feb 5 2015

When it comes to electric vehicles and plug-ins in general, the Environmental Protection Agency-certified range is a hugely important number. While actual range anxiety is largely psychological, the magic number does provide a point of comparison of buyers considering one EV over another. The driving distance is also often touted by automakers when marketing their models. Unfortunately, as Green Car Reports finds in a recent deep dive, the way the EPA calculates the figure is a convoluted mess, and discovering the reasons why is definitely worth the read. The issue isn't about bad science but instead comes down to vague wording. The EPA's accepted range test is sourced from an evaluation called J-1634 from the Society of Automotive Engineers, and it seems to provide balanced results for vehicles that automatically reach a single state of charge when plugged in. However for models with multiple charge settings, the situation gets complicated very quickly. Of course, these modes are often created in the software, meaning that a car's certified driving distance can change with just a few taps of the keyboard without the real world results owners might experience actually changing. By showing the test's effects on the certified range for the Tesla Model S, Nissan Leaf and Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive over the last few years, Green Car Reports makes a compelling argument that it's the evaluation that needs to change. Thankfully, it appears that the solution is a very simple one. Get the details here.
