This is a beautiful, well cared for 1992 Mercedes 500SL. I've owned this car since June of 1993. It was purchased from Mercedes-Benz Hollywood, Inc. The car had 9,977 miles on the odometer at that time. It's been garaged during the time of my ownership and everything about the car will support that. Everything works on the car: the power windows, power seats, cruise control, cd changer, radio, power antenna, power door locks, power retractable convertible top, power mechanism that locks and unlocks the removable hardtop. The black convertible top is in excellent condition. The plastic windows on the convertible top are clear. Most of the time I kept the hardtop on the car. The leather seats, the dash and wood in the car look the way they did the day I purchased it. The A/C was converted to the new R134A refrigerant. All the maintenance receipts accumulated over the years go with the car. I still have the 500 SL badge that I removed that can be replaced if desired as well as all the keys and books. The roll bar functions the way it should and the wind deflector is still attached to it. The removable hardtop stand and the cover for the hardtop goes with the car. The tires have plenty of tread still remaining. In the 21 years of owning this car I've averaged a little over 1,500 miles a year driving it and it still drives as rock solid as the day I purchased it. This car represents an era when Mercedes really built rock solid automobiles. and parting with it is like parting with an old friend. I've owned both a 2003 SL500 and a 2007 SL550 and in comparison they both were a disappointment. The new owner of this car will have an automobile that they can be proud of and get plenty of enjoyment from driving it. If you would like to see the car please schedule an appointment. Thanks for viewing my ad and good luck in bidding.

Mercedes leads in US luxury car thefts
Wed, 31 Jul 2013Mercedes-Benz makes some fine automobiles. The Silver Arrow'd cars are so good, apparently, that thieves can't help but try to steal them. The German brand is at the top of the charts for luxury car thefts in the US, according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau, with New York City leading the way. (And those New Yorkers complain about Detroit being bad!)
The C-Class was the most stolen model, with 485 ganked between 2009 and 2012 in NYC alone, while the E-Class and S-Class (which also boasted the worst recovery rate, at 59 percent) both finished in the top ten. Following the C-Class was the BMW 3 Series and Infiniti G. Not surprisingly, each of these were the most common models in their respective lineups. Los Angeles and Miami are also prime hotspots for luxury car thefts, according to the Detroit News report.
While getting your car stolen is pretty awful, there was one inspiring statistic compiled by the NICB - the average recovery rate across the board was 84 percent, with the Cadillac CTS getting recovered 91 percent of the time.
Best 3rd row SUVs of 2022
Wed, Oct 19 2022If you plan on using a vehicle's third row a lot, let us at least make the suggestion that a minivan would be a smarter bet than anything you're going to see on this list of best three-row SUVs. Their third rows are bigger, more comfortable and easier to get to. The kids will definitely be happier. Here are our two top choices. OK, now that that's out of the way, we totally get why minivans are totally depressing and that if the kids want to be happier, they can buy their own darn vehicle. You're buying, you're driving, you're being seen in it and you'd rather have a three-row SUV. Fair enough. Luckily, there are more choices than ever and they're really good. The best do a particularly good job of being family friendly without looking like a drab transportation appliance, although really, you can't go wrong with any of the mainstream three-row SUVs. Now, some of the luxury choices are a bit suspect, including those that are otherwise very appealing but have cramped third-row seats (the Genesis GV80 comes to mind). We're focusing on three-row SUVs here, so having a usable third row is a must. In this list, we have broken things down into four sub-categories: Best Three-Row Crossover | Best Full-size Three-Row SUV Best Luxury Three-Row SUV | Best Flagship Luxury Three-Row SUV Note that we define crossovers as SUVs since most buyers use the terms interchangeably, but acknowledge that "crossover" is literally a vehicle with a car-like unibody structure as opposed to the truck-like, body-on-frame construction that traditionally has defined "SUV." In other words, we consider all crossovers SUVs, but not all SUVs are crossovers (specifically those in the full-size segment and some in the flagship luxury segment). Best Three-Row Crossover SUVs of 2024 2024 Honda Pilot Why it stands out: Exceptional storage and cargo space; unique second-row functionality; refined ride; versatile and capable TrailSport; advanced AWDCould be better: Subpar acceleration with lackadaisical transmission and engine response; so-so driver assistance tech Read our full 2024 Honda Pilot Review The Honda Pilot was completely redesigned for 2023. It maintains its predecessor's family friendly packaging and overall focus, but it has injected a welcome sense of style (especially in the TrailSport pictured above) that makes it stand out much better from the big crossover crowd.
SRT Viper dukes it out with Mercedes SLS Black Series in new Head 2 Head
Fri, 05 Jul 2013In Episode 36 of Motor Trend's Head 2 Head, now that the Corvette ZR1 is no more, Jonny Lieberman has to look overseas to the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series for a challenger with similar philosophy to the SRT Viper: long hood hiding a high-horsepower engine set way back, rear-wheel drive, tiny trunks. That puts the Viper's 8.4-liter V10 with 640 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque against the SLS AMG's 6.2-liter V8 with 622 hp and 468 lb-ft.
However, the congruences in philosophy and magnitude of numbers doesn't translate to the driving experiences of the two, which are literally and figuratively on different continents. Lieberman gets a handle on the two of them on Northern California roads, Randy Probst then finds out how, and how quickly, they can lap Laguna Seca.
They both get kudos for being improvements on their original sources, but only one of them can take the win. You can find out by watching the video below.
