1982 Mercedes 300sd Turbo Diesel Excellent Storage Find No Reserve on 2040-cars

hello,
thanks for looking at my car.....here is the story....we have a towing company here in albuquerque and got this car from a local storage unit due to non-payment from the renter. the car had been stored there for some time and its believed the owner pased away. the car was from texas. we obtained clear title for it through a towing a storage lien. the mileage on the car is 145,000 and i believe it to be accurate, but please use your own judgement. the odometer did work when i first drove it until i pushed the button to reset the trip to zero, and it never worked again. due to mew mexico law, all vehicles taken by towing and storage liens have the title stated as not actual miles. this title will reflect this.......ok, now the condition. the body on this car is AMAZING to say the least. no dents, rust, damage or anything i can find. the paint is LIKE NEW really, the chrome and paint shine like a new one. it has only a couple small nicks in the paint, one on the drivers mirror, and one near the left rear wheel well. the inside is in good shape too. the dash has some cracks from the desert heat and some of the wood too but not bad. all the rugs, door panels, headliner and things like that are in great shape. now some thing need attention as most of these old cars do. only the drivers window works. the passenger side does not do anything, and both rear doors, i think, may need window regulators. ( i can hear the motors running ). the radio lights up, and the display works but there is no sound. the clock doe not work. the tachometer does work after the car warms up. the power mirror on the right side does not work.....the other stuff like the speedometer, all other gauges, all lights, heater a/c, both power seats, wipers, horn all do work.....running condition....the car sails down the highway with good power and handles well. has almost new tires all the way around. the transmission shifts through the gears up and down and engages good with no slipping. the diesel engine is an old school diesel. it needs glow plugs to start sounds like a truck diesel, and has the usual diesel smoke. but all in all it runs like it should. all around a good solid mercedes. please look at the photos, as i dont know what more to say, only that it will sell without reserve, so if you want it, bid on it !! the car can stay here (garaged ) for up to 60 days if need be as long as its paid in full. i can help load on your trailer or transporter for you.....thank you and good luck !!!! |

Carlsson turns Mercedes-Benz SLK into 610-HP hill-climb clawer
Mon, 28 Jan 2013Carlsson's race-tuned versions of the Mercedes-Benz SLK have been taking checkered flags for years, and we won't be surprised if its SLK 340 hill climber fares any different. Developed by multiple German and Swiss hill climb champion Reto Meisel, the carbon-bodied SLK 340 with lightweight brakes and a closed underbody weighs 1,716 pounds. Propelling that tiny bit of weight is a 3.4-liter V8 from Judd with 610 horsepower, and it rolls on 18-inch wheels shod in Avon tires.
It will debut at the Geneva Motor Show before beginning its racing campaigns in the summer. This one won't just tear up roads in Europe, though - Meisel says he plans on bringing it to the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. The press release below has more details.
Mercedes-AMG GT attacks Circuit of the Americas
Fri, 12 Sep 2014Mercedes-Benz is having a banner year with its Formula One team. Through 2014, the constructor has 454 championship points; ahead of its nearest competitor (Red Bull-Renault) by a margin of 182 tally marks. We're sure they can almost taste the champagne.
It's fitting then, and a little big cocky in a good way, that Mercedes has released a video of its newest sports car at an F1 venue. In this case, the car is the lovely Mercedes-AMG GT S, and the racetrack is Austin's Circuit of the Americas.
Having seen the official photo set and scratched the surface of the technical specifications earlier this week, we're excited to finally hear the thing run. As you might guess, the deployment of 503 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque from the twin-turbo V8 is a motivating experience. Crank up your volume, and hit that play button. (Oh, and Mercedes shot the thing in 4K, too, so those of you with expensive televisions/monitors should take heed to the settings.)
Mercedes raises the roof on new CLA Shooting Brake [UPDATE]
Tue, Nov 25 2014UPDATE: As we feared, the CLA Shooting Brake is not currently slated for US availability. The text below has been adjusted accordingly. Of all the variants in Mercedes' smallest line, only one doesn't have a liftgate, and that's the CLA-Class. But don't worry, the German automaker is out to fix that too with the reveal of the new CLA Shooting Brake you see here. Based on the same platform that underpins the CLA four-door coupe, the A-Class hatchback, B-Class minivan and GLA crossover, the new Shooting Brake applies a similar formula we've already seen on the bigger CLS Shooting Brake but in a much smaller form – which is to say, it's a wagon, but a shapely one. The revised roofline means more headroom in the back seat and significantly more cargo capacity than the four-door's trunk. Mercedes will offer the CLA with a variety of engine choices, including a 2.1-liter turbodiesel with either 136 or 177 horsepower, a 1.6-liter four with 122, 156 or 211 horsepower. That last model will even be available with 4Matic all-wheel drive for those not enamored by the idea of a front-drive Benz, but the top of the range, of course, is the CLA45 AMG Shooting Brake that carries the same 2.0-liter turbo four – all 360 horsepower of it – as the four-door CLA45 as well as the A45 and GLA45. Driving once again to all four wheels, Daimler says it'll reach 62 in 4.7 seconds (even quicker than the crossover) and top out at the usual 155 miles per hour. Of course those options only apply to markets where the new Shooting Brake will be offered. And unfortunately, Mercedes-Benz USA confirmed to Autoblog that (like the CLS wagon) the CLA Shooting Brake won't be making the transatlantic voyage to US showrooms (where the E-Class is the only low-slung Benz wagon on offer). That leaves the four-door CLA and the GLA crossover still holding down the pint-sized fort for Mercedes. THE NEW MERCEDES-BENZ CLA SHOOTING BRAKE: SPACE FOR SOMETHING NEW Stuttgart. Breathtakingly sporty proportions and a powerfully dynamic design idiom with sensuously shaped surfaces already made the CLA unmistakable in its four-door Coupe guise. It is now followed by a further design icon, the CLA Shooting Brake, with a unique look all of its own. The lower overall height and the elongated coupe-style roof contour line, the low greenhouse and the sweep of the high beltline are the key design features of its distinctive profile.
