Good looking Midnight Blue with Saddle color MBZ Tex interior. 184K miles. Very economical with 35 MPG highway, 29 MPG city, about 750 miles on 1 tank!
Engine and transmission work great. Very smooth inline 6 cylinder 24 valves engine. Good power and very reliable (Google "Mercedes OM606 engine" and read for yourself.).
Well maintained car with regular oil + filter changed every 3000 miles with correct Diesel rated oil and Mann oil filters.
Work done on it in the past year:
New front chocks.
New front chock mounts.
New front chock bumpers.
New tie rods.
New sway bar bushings.
New front bearings.
------------------
All fuel lines and associated "O" rings were replaced with OEM MBZ parts and Viton "O" rings.
Intake manifold cleaned up.
New intake manifold gasket.
New primary and secondary fuel filters.
New air filter.
New Fan Clutch.
------------------
4 new tires installed last November.
------------------
AC and heater work great.
No accident.
No dents.
Clean inside and out.
Clean title in hand.
------------------
Minor issues:
-->Radio antenna stuck in the up position but it does work very well.
-->The Mercedes Becker radio acts funny sometimes (changes volume by itself!) and doesn't send signal to the rear speakers. It's on its last leg!
-->The headliner has partially come unglued but is not damaged at all, it only needs to be reglued.
-->The clear coat on the alloy wheels is bad due to wheel cleaner baking it overtime in the Southwest sun.
-->Glow plug #6 is bad and will need to be replaced. The car still starts without a problem even during cold morning temperatures. It does not affect the engine performance at all.  I only found out about it because the glow plug light will sometimes be on for 1 minute while the car is running. I checked the resistance reading for each glow plugs at the GP relay and found that GP #6 has a resistance of 50 Ohms= Bad plug. The other readings for GP #1, 2, 3, 4, 5 are normal. The car comes with a set of 6 new glow plugs, uninstalled.

Here you go, everything has been said so you can make an educated decision.

The car is also listed in the local classifieds. If sold locally before the end of this auction, this auction will be ended. Thanks.

Mercedes releases 6x6 G63 AMG specs and pics [w/video]

Fri, 15 Mar 2013

Mercedes-Benz has finally dropped full details on its insane G63 AMG 6x6. The machine puts 544 horsepower to all six wheels thanks to a twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V8. A seven-speed gearbox shuttles power to the ground via three sets of portal axles, which helps give this machine a full 15.75 inches of ground clearance. By comparison, the standard G63 AMG sits with just 8.27 inches of ground clearance. The extra lift allows this 6x6 to ford nearly 40 inches of water and run massive 37-inch tires. All told, there are five differential locks on this thing, all controlled by a special "locking logic" that provides the best traction possible for any given situation.
The controls offer up three stages of locking, which we can only assume range from JKLOL to OMGWTF. Right now, AMG says this monstrosity is only a show vehicle, but we imagine it wouldn't take much to convince the team to whip up one of your very own. Check out our full gallery and the press release below for all the nitty gritty. While you're down there, you can also check out the video on the machine one more time.

Aston Martin and Mercedes-AMG formalize technical partnership

Thu, 19 Dec 2013

The development of a partnership between Mercedes-Benz and Aston Martin has been a long time coming. The news dates back to 2008, and over the five years since was supposed to lead to a rejuvenation of both the Maybach and Lagonda brands. That program ultimately fell apart, but the tie-in was forged afresh in July when the two automakers signed a letter of intent over a renewed partnership. And now that partnership has been formalized.
In a deal just announced, Mercedes-AMG will build a new V8 engine for Aston Martin that will power a new generation of luxury GTs for the British marque, presumably to replace the 4.7-liter V8 in the Vantage. The relationship appears to be similar to the one already in place between AMG and Pagani, only in this case, will involve Daimler taking as much as a five-percent stake in Aston Martin and an observer seat on Aston's board.
The technical partnership is also set to lead to the supply of electric and electronic systems, and could incorporate "additional areas of cooperation in the future." Whether that will include a fresh attempt at reviving Lagonda remains to be seen, as does the future of Aston's long-serving, Ford-based 6.0-liter V12 engine. But for now you can read the full announcement below.

BMW can't build enough M3 wagons, but the U.S. won't see any

Sun, Jul 16 2023

Why, oh why, won’t the automobile companies that supposedly cater to Americans give us a viable touring wagon? Seems that BMW is one manufacturer thatÂ’s aware of the question, but skirts the answer. WhatÂ’s more frustrating is that the German company, and others, have for years been off-handedly tossing out the same refrain: “Maybe weÂ’ll bring a wagon back to the U.S.” Not. All the more irritating then is the news that the Bavarians have increased production in Munich of its M3 Touring longroof version to keep up with demand. The information comes via Bimmer Today, which spoke with BMW M CEO Frank van Meel. He said that the company was surprised by the amount of interest in the M3 Touring since its debut during last year's Goodwood Festival of Speed. In fact, he said, the company had to facilitate a production ramp-up within its Munich facility. Despite that increased production, the backlog of orders means that customers are still on wait lists, he said. Last year, van Peel admitted that demand for M-wagons in the U.S. has been steadily increasing, and exporting a touring example was a concept BMW was "taking into consideration.” Crossovers certainly are this decadeÂ’s version of the wagon, which leaves American enthusiasts will few choices: only expensive versions from Audi, Volvo and Mercedes-Benz and a couple of others. Details that were announced last year — a few months before the wagon went into production for sale in Europe, the U.K. and elsewhere — noted that the M3 Touring was only available in Competition spec with xDrive all-wheel drive and a 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six with 503 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. Pricing started at GBP80,550 ($105,000 U.S.) More data on the M3Â’s intro here. Related video:
