Here we have a 1978 Lotus Esprit S2,  I have owned this car for many years but haven't had a chance to restore it yet.   This beauty is complete,  not butchered in anyway, original carbs, engine, engine cover, interior, etc.   Its been stored in a completely dry garage under its cover.

The car needs total restoration but being an S2 will continue to rise in value.

If you have been looking for a complete, stock S2 restoration project this is your car.  I have a clear title for the car and its ready to go.  The engine is not turning and will probably need a rebuild.  The seats are shot but the rest of the interior is in shockingly good condition.  The car has BRAND NEW tires on it, not junker tires but the stock size BF goodrich tires.  I hate storing cars on flat tires so it was worth the investment.   They cost over 700 dollars.

Please note,  I will add interior pictures, and more engine pictures Saturday,  the car is stored away from my house.  So please don't email requesting pics,  just check back Saturday.

I will sell this car with no reserve, but have the right to end the auction at anytime as the car is for sale locally.   If you buy this car I expect payment via paypal within 12 hours of the auction ending,  DO NOT bid on this car if you do not have funds in place, and your wife, girlfriend, banker is cool with it.  Also since this is a no reserve auction dont bid this car to 15k and then leave negative feedback based on its condition.  That just happened to me on of all things, an accordion..     To make it clear,  this car needs restoration,  if you wish to come see it,  I am in Colorado Springs and welcome an inspection,  however once you win the auction, its yours,  so please arrange to look at it first if you wish.

why am I selling?  Well I thought I would never sell this car, but found a 308 GTB I am hot after, so this and my 89 Esprit are probably going to go,  I will keep an 85 Esprit.

Again, payment is due via paypal no later than 12 hours after auction ends,  if you dont agree with that, or understand that please don't bid.   Also I will help load it and will even store the car for a while if need be,  I can fedex the title to you when auction ends if you need it stored.

Please excuse the filtered pics for the auction,  I just snapped these in my driveway last year.  I will upload detailed pictures Saturday.

Coca-Cola returning to F1 with Lotus sponsorship [w/videos]

Sat, 24 Nov 2012

Even before Red Bull Racing became a record-breaking three-time Constructor's Champion in Formula One, it has dominated conversations both as a team and as an energy drink. After seven years of "Red Bull this" and "Red Bull that," Coca-Cola is reportedly ready to jump into the F1 fray with its Sweden-based energy drink Burn.
Rumors had placed Coca-Cola's entry with McLaren F1, but it's actually Lotus that has secured the deal. We have no idea what the sponsorship will look like, but the website for Burn says that "We [intend] to foster that creativity by incorporating art and music in a way that will break the conventions of traditional F1 sponsorship," Lotus F1 team principal Eric Boullier adding "We are excited to partner with burn to build a new and innovative model for sponsorships that will combine experiences, content creation and social media..."
Since most - including this writer - have no idea what Burn is, we've included a couple of Burn commercial spots to help get us up to speed, which you'll find below. The 2012 season hasn't even ended, and we're already looking forward to 2013...

Behind the scenes of Lotus' spectacular truck-over-F1 jump

Mon, Nov 24 2014

A Lotus F1 car and the truck in which it's transported may both be powered by Renault and share a common JPS livery, but as far as size and performance are concerned, they're at opposite ends of the spectrum. So if you had to jump one over the other, you'd think it'd be a no-brainer to skip the single-seater over the tractor-trailer. Right? Well that may be the more logical conclusion, but it's not the way the Lotus team and its technology partner EMC decided to go for this latest promo. Instead they jumped the semi over the grand prix car. The stunt was obviously geared towards publicity, but while they were at it, they set a Guinness World Record for the longest truck jump at 83 feet, 7 inches. The previous record, according to Guinness, stood at 50 feet, 6 inches, and was set on MTV's Nitro Circus on November 17, 2008, by Gregg Godfrey at Rocky Mountain Raceway in Salt Lake City. That record stood for six years, but (as best we can tell) was set without the trailer attached, or the F1 car tracking underneath - which only makes this latest stunt that much more impressive. You may have seen the promo clip circulating the interwebs late last week, but we've included a making-of video below as well to show how the stunt team managed to pull it all off. Alpine joins forces with Lotus to develop an electric sports car

Thu, Jan 14 2021

Renault's performance-rooted Alpine division linked arms with Caterham to develop the current-generation A110, but it brought the project in-house after the partnership collapsed. It's again looking across the English Channel to design the model's replacement. It teamed up with Lotus to examine ways to create a nimble electric sports car. Both companies issued a statement to cautiously explain the project remains at the embryonic stage. Development work hasn't started yet. Executives simply agreed to conduct a comprehensive feasibility study for the joint engineering, design, and development of a battery-powered model. On the French side, the car (assuming it's approved) will replace the A110. In the United Kingdom, it's unclear whether the Lotus-badged variant will take the torch from an existing model (like the Elise), or if it will be positioned as a standalone car. While it sounds like nothing is set in stone yet, the match makes sense. Alpine and Lotus are both niche players in the automotive industry, though they're part of much larger groups (Geely owns Lotus). And they both made a name for themselves by building light sports cars. Neither has ever offered a rival to the Lamborghini Aventador, for example. Working together will allow them to find a common solution to the problem of offsetting the mass of an electric powertrain. Overlapping is certainly possible, but Alpine and Lotus can stay in opposite corners of the same room if they put their respective DNAs front and center. Their jointly-developed electric sports car will need to be small, nimble, and quick. From there, Lotus could shape its version as a convertible (or at least with removable roof panels) while Alpine could turn its model into a coupe, the body style it's most closely associated with. Design will be a major differentiating factor, too. Lotus previously hinted its future cars will borrow styling cues from the Evija. We don't know exactly where Alpine is headed, but nothing suggests its future cars will also look like the Evija. Alpine's reshuffling won't end there. Renault announced that the firm will gain responsibility for Renault Sport and Renault Sport Racing in the coming years, and that it will become 100% electric. It will introduce at least three new models during the first half of the 2020s: a car that looks like a city-friendly hatchback, its first crossover, inevitably, and the aforementioned A110 replacement.
