2006 Lotus Exige Supercharged White Black-leather Carbon Fiber Track Perfect on 2040-cars
Murrieta, California, United States
Model Overview The Lotus Exige
was introduced in 2006 as a hard-top version of Elise. It carries many of the
best features of the Elise, such as the all-aluminum chassis, and the
feather-light design. Weighing in at 2,077 lbs, the Exige is one of the
lightest closed cars available. Besides fixing the roof, Lotus stiffened the
suspension and made subtle changes to the sheet metal. The Exige features a
unique engine cover and rear wing, as well as a front fascia that helps provide
additional downforce over the Elise. For 2007, Lotus wanted to improve engine
performance, so they added a supercharger to the 1.8L Toyota-sourced engine.
This boosted output to 220 horsepower and torque to 165 ft-lbs, all while
increasing efficiency to 23 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. But what
has not changed is how dedicated Lotus is to making the Exige the ultimate
driver's car. The seats are specially shaped to embrace the driver, but the
thin padding means that every nuance of the road is transmitted to his or her
hips. The car sits extraordinarily low at 45 inches tall. The steering is not
power-assisted, but the ratio is quick and communication with the road is razor
sharp. The only transmission available is a six-speed manual. The Lotus also features
only four cubic feet of cargo space--1.3 cubic feet less than a Mazda MX-5.But
that's the cost of the Exige's blistering performance. Lotus claims a zero to
sixty time of 4.1 seconds. The Exige's mid-engine design, racing-style
anti-lock brakes, and Eibach/Bilstein suspension mean this is a serious sports
car. Lotus didn't want to dilute the essence of the car, but they did spare a
few popular comfort items. Among them, air conditioning, remote keyless entry, leather
seats with leather inserts, and a Blaupunkt CD player. The Exige is available
in several configurations to suit the ways different people intend to use it.
The Touring Package adds full leather seats, power windows, and sound
insulation.
Description of Car Here
is an absolutely beautiful 2006 Lotus Exige S that is in excellent condition
and an absolute blast to drive. This particular car was loaded from the factory with every option, White paint, Touring Package with leather seats and an overall more comfortable interior and an i-pod hook up. Additionally this car was prepared with a Carbon Fiber Splitter, Schroth ASM Racing Harnesses, Light Weight Battery, Custom Engine Tune and Katana II supercharger means this engine is making 255 hp! Also fitted is a Larini Sport Exhaust, Ferodo Street / Track brakes, rigid engine mounts, “bollock” shift knob, Toyo R888 tires, DBW Pedals. This car performs flawlessly and makes for an excellent affordable track car that can be driven to and from the track! With the weight reductions and the supercharger, this car is making 260 hp per ton; compare that with a NEW Porsche 911 that only makes 230 hp per ton. You decide how this translates into driving fun. This car is fully street legal with current California smog!!! There are not many track day toys that can be as reliable as a Toyota, with the performance of a super car. Most of the original factory Lotus parts are available with the car. These truly are excellent cars and are very rare with less than 300 imported to the US. This is an accident free car that is ready to be driven and enjoyed. This is a great value and these cars will undoubtedly be sought after as collectible cars in the future!!! This car earns lots of thumbs up everywhere you go and is a pleasure to drive. It would make a great addition to any collection or a weekend showpiece. I can help arrange shipping anywhere in the world and international

Forza Horizon announces January Recaro Car Pack with LFA N"urburgring Edition
Wed, 26 Dec 2012Another month, another car pack for Forza Horizon. This time it's the Recaro Car Pack featuring a motley gang of cars and trucks: the 1983 GMC Vandura G-1500, 1995 Ford Mustang Cobra R, 2012 Cadillac Escalade ESV, 2005 Mercedes-Benz SLR, 2012 Lexus LFA Nürburgring Edition and 2012 Lotus Exige S.
It'll be up for download on Xbox Live on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013 for 400 MS Points. As usual, if you have the Forza Horizon Season Pass you can get them all free, and Season Pass holders will also get a bonus car that's not pictured: the 2009 Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster.
The Pagani is everything opposite to that Vandura, but while you might not ever win anything with the van, you can always use the back of it as a place to give out free hugs. Check out the video and press release below for more details.
James Bond Lotus Esprit submarine car headed to auction [w/video]
Fri, 28 Jun 2013We've covered many cars from the movies and TV that have made their way to auction (the original Batmobile, good old General Lee and even Bond's iconic Aston Martin DB5), but this one ranks up there among the rarest and coolest. RM Auctions has just announced that the Lotus Esprit submarine car used in the James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me has been added to the docket for its upcoming auction in London, September 8-9.
Of course, there are dozens of Bond cars floating around out there in collections, but none as unique as this Lotus, which ended a chase scene in the movie by taking a long walk off a short pier and transforming itself into a submersible. Since CGI was a meaningless collection of letters back then, the producers of the film actually built a fully functional Lotus Esprit submarine for the shoot. They hired Perry Oceangraphic in Florida to turn one of their six Esprit body shells into a fully functioning submarine, and former US Navy Seal Don Griffin was tapped for piloting duties. RM Auctions claims the Esprit submarine cost over $100,000 to build at the time, which is about $400,000 in today's dollars.
The submarine car comes with a incredible story, too. After filming in the '70s, it was shipped to Long Island, NY where it was kept in a storage unit that was paid in advance for ten years. When the storage contract ended in 1989 and no one claimed the contents, they were sold off in a blind auction to an area couple who had no idea what they were getting. The car has been shown occasionally in the years since, but its value remained purely speculative, until now. To date, the most valuable Bond car we know of is the original Aston Martin DB5 used in Goldfinger and Thunderball that sold for $4.6 million in 2010, but when the gavel falls at RM Auctions' London sale in September, we'll find out if the car nicknamed "Wet Nellie" on set can beat it.
Lotus settles with ex-CEO Dany Bahar, avoids London High Court
Sun, 25 May 2014Five years after it began, it appears the Dany Bahar tenure at Lotus is finally over. After former Lotus owner Proton brought in the ex-Ferrari and Red Bull marketing savant to run the company in 2009, everything had gone pear-shaped by 2012: Proton had been sold to Malaysian auto supplier DRB-Hicom, who suspended Bahar and then fired him for what it said were expense-account transgressions (although Bob Lutz reportedly said something different).
The separation led to the expected suit and countersuit, Lotus going after Bahar to get its money back, Bahar filing a $10.6-million suit againt Lotus for wrongful termination and potential bonus money. The case was set to go to trial next month but both parties have settled, the terms undisclosed, a DRB-Hicom statement saying only that "the parties involved in the legal suit have signed a Settlement Agreement and Release... and have agreed to withdraw their claims against each other."
Now that that bit of housecleaning is all cleared up, can new CEO Jean-Marc Gales please get our Esprit?
