1978 Lincoln Mark V Diamond Jubilee on 2040-cars
Kokomo, Indiana, United States

This car was backed into on the drivers door. Will need new door skin or door. The interior is surprisingly nice. Seats nice, no tears, dash no cracks, headliner nice. I bought and paid for this car and before I could pick it up the previous owners neighbor left his driveway without looking and backed into it. Of course he wouldn't pay for it and I was out of state. I have another pristine DJ that doesn't run as smoothly as this one. You could fix drive or restore this car. It is uncommon because new they cost over $20k in 1978 dollars. About 5000 made, about half gold, other half blue. It has the console, tool kit, thicker carpeting, and same carpet came in the trunk along with vinyl treatment on the faux continental kit trunk insert. All bumper fillers uncracked and complete. All lights and lenses in good condition and windows work as they should. The last year for the 460ci in a car. This car runs, drives, shifts, and stops beautifully.I am taking a financial beating on this car but I hope someone gives this uncommon car the dignity it deserves. If you would like more info or photos let me know and I will do my best to provide that. Will also answer text msg at 7653989257. This car must be removed within 10 days of auctions end. Please have funds in order. Thanks for looking and good luck. Kris

Lincoln Chauffeur service will drive you around and do your shopping
Wed, Apr 12 2017Lincoln is launching a unique service in Miami this year called Lincoln Chauffeur, and it does exactly what you'd expect. Any Lincoln owner can request someone via an app to come to their house and drive him or her wherever they'd like. That driver will then drive the car back. Lincoln pointed out this will allow other household members to use the car, and even helps avoid having to pay for parking when going to the airport. A representative said that a driver could be sent to a bar or restaurant to pick up a car left in favor of a cab after drinking. In addition to driving you to a location, the driver can also go and fill up your Lincoln with fuel and run other errands. Need some groceries? Your Lincoln driver can do that. And the Lincoln drivers are employed and vetted by Lincoln. If you find a driver you like, you can also request that person and Lincoln will try to accommodate your request. The service is currently in the pilot stage and only available in Miami. The next city that will get access to the service is San Diego. However, the plan is to continue expanding. It's also available for all Lincoln owners, new and old, not just members of Lincoln Black Label. Buyers of any new Lincoln will be given the equivalent of eight hours free in the service. This is a significant perk, since Lincoln said the estimated cost is $30 per hour of use at the current pilot pricing. Related Video:

Both of America's domestic luxury brands seem to be stuck in neutral.

2020 Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring plug-in hybrid range, fuel economy revealed
Mon, Dec 9 2019The range-topping 2020 Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring plug-in hybrid luxury crossover finally has official fuel economy ratings. The electric range is 21 miles, and when the battery is exhausted, gas-only combined fuel economy is 23 mpg. The EPA's combined electric and gas test loop yielded 56 mpg-e. These numbers make the Aviator Grand Touring the most frugal version of the three-row luxury crossover, with the next most efficient one being the rear-drive non-hybrid model at 21 mpg combined. When going by gas-only fuel economy, though, the Aviator Grand Touring's non-plug-in cousin, the Ford Explorer Hybrid, returns up to 28 mpg combined with rear-wheel drive, and 25 mpg with all-wheel drive. It has much less power at 318 horsepower and 322 pound-feet of torque, compared to the Aviator Grand Touring's 494 horsepower and 630 pound-feet of torque. The luxury plug-in hybrid crossover segment is quite small right now. The closest competitor to the Aviator Grand Touring is probably the Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid. It has a shorter electric range of 13 miles, and its gas-only fuel economy is a slightly worse at 22 mpg. The Porsche is less powerful with 455 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque, and its base price of $82,450 exceeds the Lincoln's $69,895 price. The Mercedes-Benz GLC 350e splits the difference on efficiency with a worse 10-mile electric range, but a better gasoline fuel economy of 25 mpg combined. This could improve for 2020, as the updated model will have a larger battery. It's cheaper, too, at $51,645, but it's also a full size smaller than the Lincoln.
