I have a 1966 Lincoln convertible for sale.

This car has a clear title. It was last issued in 1995 and has not likely been on the road since.
I got this car as a project and has been spent the last winter getting brought back to its present condition.
the car has had lots done to it but, still needs more to be completed.

The floors had metal patches welded in and were undercoated.
there were many hours spent on body work./ dent repair.
the car was sanded and primed. the hood did not get finished it needs to be sand blasted and primed.
2/3 of the car is painted red. it did not get completed. should be resprayed.
the car is pretty solid for a car that's almost 50 years old.

the car has rust in usual places. most have been taken care of.

the car has a driver quality interior it would look better with replacement covers.
the carpet is new. but has not had the finishing touches needed to look perfect.
some of the door panels have been removed because there are some window motor issues.
the arm rest and switches look good and intact. these usually break especially the drivers door arm rest.

the top does't work. it is currently in the down position. the vinal was shot. so I manually put it down and planned to get to it later.

the engine is a 462 cu engine and runs with a lot of power. the exact miles are unknown but the odomiter shows a shows a realistic amount.
the motor is responsive. it has a bad exhaust leak. the whole exhaust should be redone. it has a new alternator and voltage regulator. new coil, battery.
new fuel pump. new brakes and brake calipers were put in up front. the front tires are new.

the bad...the starter wants to stay engaged sometimes. if you jiggle the key it disengages.

the good....it starts runs and stops good.I have gone on a couple of short drives and thought the car handled well at 60 mph!
it still needs the bumpers and mirrors put back on to be driven on the road.
this car needs to be hauled out of here. it should not be driven until you put it back together and determine that it is safe.

I can help your shipper load this car. I am located in 48871 MI.

I have a parts convertible that I might sell also.

this car is sold as is.
I do not accept paypal.
cash or check only please!

ps. I will try to upload more photos and have the ability to send a short video by smart phone if you have one!

Next Lincoln Navigator to drop V8 in favor of V6, but Ford Expedition might get both

Tue, 12 Mar 2013

A great many buyers fled from full-size body-on-frame SUVs to car-based crossovers in large measure to save fuel. But that doesn't mean there's still not a buying audience for more traditional truck-based utility vehicles, and those consumers doubtlessly wouldn't mind saving some dollars at the pump, too. According to Motor Trend, those shoppers might be in luck.
That's because the magazine has confirmed that Ford isn't walking away from the full-size SUV segment, and it's poised to do something about its offerings' economy ratings, too. According to MT, global Lincoln director Matt VanDyke has hinted that the next Navigator may drop two cylinders and go with a V6 model - the current model gets just 14 miles per gallon in the city and 20 on the highway from its 5.4-liter V8. The obvious fitment would be Ford's 3.5-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6, an engine that has spread like kudzu throughout the rest of the Blue Oval's large vehicle lineup.
Downsized turbocharged engines like Ford's EcoBoost franchise have come under fire as of late for not delivering their EPA fuel economy ratings, but their benefits extend beyond consumption - the 3.5L offers superior power and a better torque curve than the naturally aspirated V8. MT also suggests that Ford's 3.7-liter V6 could form the base engine for the next Navi - it has similar horsepower but a lot less torque than the current 5.4L. That may be less of a problem with the next generation tipped to go on a diet, which could level the playing field somewhat.

2017 Lincoln Continental spied inside and out

Thu, Jul 9 2015

Lincoln certainly made us stand up and take notice when it unveiled the Continental concept at the New York Auto Show this past March. Showcars, however, are only worth so much if they never reach production. But as these latest spy shots indicate, Ford's luxury division is hard at work taking the new Conti from show floor to showroom. The team from Dearborn has clearly gone to great lengths to disguise this prototype, wrapping it in a new type of camouflage with trompe l'oeil bulbous-looking shapes to keep us from seeing just how close the production version will keep to (or how far it may stray from) the concept's design. Our spy photographers did, however, manage to snap some shots of the inside through the side glass, and though it's still evidently some ways off from reaching production, some key details give us an idea of what to expect. Look closely and you can make out the buttons for the transmission running down the side of the infotainment screen, just like on other new Lincolns. The chromework appears to have been toned down some from the blinged-out dashboard of the showcar, but it may be too early to say how much shine there will be to the production model. The overall design of the center console looks pretty darn close to the version we saw in New York, though. The Continental is expected to replace the MKS, as Lincoln moves away from alphabetical nomenclature back towards actual nameplates. Assembly is slated to be undertaken in Flat Rock, MI. There are a great many more details yet to be uncovered, but as far as early indications go, it looks like Lincoln is well on its way to making its concept a reality. Related Video:

Ford and Lincoln design honcho leaves to head Nissan North America design

Thu, Jun 13 2019

Last Friday, David Woodhouse suddenly resigned from his dual positions as Ford's director of global strategic design and director of Lincoln design. In a post not long after leaving, he praised the efforts of his former team over the past six years he headed design at Lincoln. Among other products, that crew gave us the redesigned Navigator, the Continental concept and production sedan, and the Aviator concept and production crossover. Car Design News reports Woodhouse traded Michigan for California, taking the role of VP at Nissan Design America in San Diego. He officially assumes the position July 1, and will also serve on the Japanese automaker's Global Nissan Design Management Committee. Woodhouse has spent more than 25 years in the design department, starting with BMW and work on the Mini and Range Rover brands, followed by a brief stint with Cadillac of Europe. For the past 20 years he's been with Ford, coming on board with the Ford's former luxury arm known as the Premier Automotive Group — Jaguar, Land Rover, Aston Martin, Volvo and Lincoln. He became Lincoln's design director in 2013, introducing the world to the design language labeled "quiet flight." He described the language's details as "anti-wedge body gestures, S-curves wherever possible, and an emphasis on horizontal lines at every opportunity to create leaner, longer, wider emphasis on the exteriors, and create equilibrium, balance, and calmness on the interiors." A much shorter way to describe it is: revitalized Lincolns. The U.S. luxury maker's new and overhauled products have been praised for their lines by critics and by paying customers. The brand's done so well it's hard to remember when the MKC concept was a revelation, and that goes on Woodhouse's resume, too. That's some special juju to take to Nissan, where Woodhouse will lead both Nissan and Infiniti design focused on the North American region. Nissan has a solid if uninspiring lineup that sells well here, while Infiniti, as the luxury brand, is the bigger issue. Infiniti sedans glide on the contrails of a design language more than 10 years old. The money-making crossovers and SUVs haven't made a splash in about the same time, since the long-ago FX45. Nissan's plan to update 70 percent of its lineup over the next few years and Infiniti's transition to an all-electric brand makes right now the perfect time to break into riveting designs for the street. Woodhouse replaces Taro Ueda, who moves into a global role with Nissan.
