Relisted do to wrong catagory! For sale is a 1970 Lincoln hard-top 2 door coupe. From what I've been told there were less than 2500 of these ever made. I have the original dealership code list if anyone has any questions or wants to know the numbers to decode. The car runs and drives great! That however doesn't mean it doesn't need a complete ground-up rebuild. While the 1970 D0VE engine performs quite well, the outside is getting rusty. Has vacuum controlled power-locks. Vacuum controlled opening headlights and original wheel covers. It comes with all the original parts like intake manifold, carb, etc if you want it numbers matching. If you were to restore this to like-new condition I don't doubt it would bring 100k at auction as rare as it is. Please, be my guest, search all of the internets and try to find one, you likely will not find so much of a picture of this car, let alone the car itself. There is one additional one that I'm aware of and the gentleman that owns it is en Europe. Yes, it's rough I know. Yes, you can come check her out. I drive her in the summers here any there mostly to my buddies farm about 5 miles up the road from mine. She has a mild cam, new water pump, new intake manifold (Weiand hi-rise), new carb, holley vacuum secondary with a QFT kit put on her so you can change the all the jets instead of messing with fuel plates. Do some research and find out what you can about this model, if it's something you want go ahead and bid, if not, she'll go back in the barn 'til Spring. If you're someone famous like gas monkey garage or jesse james than I darn well better get on tv and want to see what she looks like when you're done. You're welcome to come look at her, hear her start, idle, run, etc. Send me an ebay message with your phone number and I'll answer any questions you have about the car or the dealer-delivery statement. I'm only the second owner of this car, the orginal one was an elderly retired dentist. This is one of the largest cars ever produced, especially for a 2--door model, with both doors open the wingspan is nearly 15 feet across. VIN: 0Y81A843773 I have tons of paperwork for everything the first owner did to the car, including documentation that he was indeed a doctor. I have original owner's manual and dealer's window print out. Car is in Lima, OH I believe the mileage says 34000 but the odometer doesn't work well. Exact mileage unknown. Feel free to msg me any questions or with your phone number so we can talk, hear it run, etc; or to request additional pictures

Mixed sales results, but automaker stocks rise on need for cars in Houston

Fri, Sep 1 2017

DETROIT — The Big Three Detroit automakers on Friday reported better-than-expected August sales and issued optimistic outlooks for demand as residents of the Houston area replace flood-damaged cars and trucks after Hurricane Harvey, sending their stocks higher. General Motors, Ford and Fiat Chrysler posted mixed August U.S. sales, with GM up 7.5 percent and Ford and Fiat Chrysler down. Japanese automaker Toyota improved sales by nearly 7 percent, while Honda fell 2.4 percent. Still, analysts focused on the potential for Detroit automakers to cut inventories and stabilize used vehicle prices as residents of Houston, the fourth largest city in the United States, are forced to replace tens of thousands, perhaps hundreds of thousands, of vehicles after the devastation from Hurricane Harvey. Mark LaNeve, Ford's U.S. sales chief, told analysts on Friday that following Hurricane Katrina in 2005 "we saw a very dramatic snapback" in demand. That said, Ford sales fell 2.1 percent in August. It sold 209,897 vehicles in the United States, compared with 214,482 a year earlier. Sales were down 1.9 percent in the Ford division and off 5.8 percent at Lincoln. Demand was down for cars, crossovers and SUVs. It was not clear how many vehicles in the Houston area will be scrapped, LaNeve said, saying he had seen estimates ranging from 200,000 to 400,000 to 1 million. Ford's Houston dealers may have lost fewer than 5,000 vehicles in inventory, he said. Ford is the No. 1 automaker in the Houston market, with 18 percent share, according to IHS Markit. The company plans to ship used vehicles to Houston dealers and has "every indication we would have to add some production" of new vehicles to meet demand, LaNeve said. Investor concerns about inventories of unsold vehicles and falling used car prices have weighed on Detroit automakers' shares most of this year. Now, automakers can anticipate a jolt of demand from a big market that is a stronghold for Detroit brand trucks and SUVs. "It's got to be a positive for the industry," LaNeve said. Investors appeared to agree. GM shares rose as much as 3.3 percent to their highest since early March. Ford increased 2.8 percent at $11.34, and Fiat Chrysler's U.S.-traded shares were up 5.2 percent $15.91, hitting their highest in more than five years. GM reported a 7.5 percent increase in U.S. auto sales in August, helped by robust sales of crossovers across its four brands.

Lincoln bringing in MKZ Hybrid over rollaway risk

Mon, 30 Dec 2013

Federal safety standards require that every new car needs to have the brake depressed in order to shift it out of Park. But the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has found fault in the transmission range sensor on certain examples of the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid, allowing the car to be shifted out of Park without first depressing the brake. The fear is that with this condition, affected vehicles may be unintentionally pulled out of Park, resulting in a possible rollaway. That safety concern has prompted parent Ford Motor Company to issue a recall.
The issue pertains to 7,153 examples of the MKZ Hybrid built between April 26, 2012 and September 24, 2013, covering the 2013 and 2014 model years. As a result, Ford will notify owners to bring their MKZs into their local Lincoln dealer to have the Powertrain Control Module software updated in order to rectify the problem. See the full recall notice below for details.

SNL, Jim Carrey late to the Lincoln MKC ad spoof party

Mon, 27 Oct 2014

At this point, making fun of the Lincoln MKC ads starring Matthew McConaughey is getting pretty old, though apparently Lincoln loves it. The commercials have been airing for over a month, but Conan O'Brien, Ellen DeGeneres and even South Park have all taken their swipes at the spots with the smooth-talking actor monologuing about his new luxury crossover. Saturday Night Live might have finally killed the joke in its recent episode featuring Jim Carrey.
The problem certainly isn't that Carrey does a bad job in the spoofs, and he actually pulls off a pretty good McConaughey impression. They start out as pretty direct mimicry and slowly evolve into the absurd, including cracks at McConaughey's acting career and the way he rubs his thumb and finger together. Carrey certainly raises at least a chuckle at times, though.
However, the comedian's engaging performance can't take away from the fact that SNL has arriving to this mocking party pretty late in the game. The jokes just don't feel fresh anymore, so hopefully these ads put the final nails in the coffin for the riffs - at least until the next batch of Lincoln ads arrive.
