1969 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL

This is one nice 1969 Gold on Gold with Black vinyl top Lincoln Continental and one of the remaining cars that is a true survivor! With 49,000 original documented miles this car will do nothing but climb in value. These cars are growing in popularity based on their incredible lines and the fact that they have been seen on television and in the movies. Not to mention the suicide doors!! . We knew they had great lines and were incredible before, now the whole world knows it! This car nothing short of incredible to drive and enjoy. It is a large car with super cool suicide doors, take the whole family or friends in the super comfortable seats on a trip down memory lane or out for ice cream! This car was purchased from a gentleman in Oregon that garaged it and showered it with love. This car has original paint and interior which is excellent. The car has 49,341 original miles and is ready for 100,000 . It runs and drives great, no smoke, no shimmies, no leaks , and everything works, windows, 8 track power antenna  etc. The car runs and drives nicely. The body is in very good condition underneath super clean. Please see the extensive pictures. The interior on the car is all leather and in pristine condition as is the dash, carpets, steering wheel and overall interior. This car is ready to enjoy and looks like new. You couldn't build this car for less.  The prior individual took incredible care of this car, it was always garaged and is ready to drive. The Car  is nicer than most new cars! The car starts immediately, runs nicely, idles nicely, shifts nicely, and the major systems function. With all cars that are 45 years old there are some minor issues, the air conditioning system works (needs a charge), The tires will need replacing as they are the tires put on brand new form Sears in 1976 with the mileage at 47,872 . Also the headrests are missing and I do not have them . It had a complete inspection two months ago and the mechanic was in shock at the condition of this car mechanically as well as over all untouched exterior and interior. It needs to have someone to appreciate the stock condition of this car i don't have the storage for the car or id keep it for myself. Dont let this timeless classic slip away ! Any questions please feel free to ask !

MKC Concept is the real fresh start for Lincoln [w/poll]

Mon, 14 Jan 2013

We were admittedly bullish about the Lincoln MKC Concept when we introduced it to you yesterday, as we were taken aback by how cohesive the C-platform crossover is in the metal. As it turns out, so were you, dear reader. With hundreds of comments booked on our original Deep Dive story, the overwhelming temperature of the Autoblog Commenteriat is one of surprise and delight - quite an accomplishment for a marque that many had written off for dead. The reception here under the bright lights of the Detroit Auto Show appears to be no less positive, but we thought you might want a second, closer look afforded by these live photos.
Lincoln remains mum on production MKC drivetrain specifics (we're thinking it will start with the 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder out of its similarly sized Ford Escape relative, or maybe the midlevel 1.6-liter), but we shouldn't have to wait too long. The showcar is expected to closely mirror the production model (due as early as later this year), so much so that Ford global marketing boss Jim Farley explicitly told the press conference masses, "When you see the MKC, do not think concept." That's good news, as the MKC is pivotal to Lincoln's effort to rebuild awareness and consideration on the back of its MKZ sedan, a model just now going on sale. In fact, with the small crossover segment exploding, the MKC could very well turn out to be more important to the brand than the MKZ.
After seeing these new photos, are you more or less enamored with Lincoln's new concept? Leave a comment after voting in our poll below.

Lincoln trumpets $129M investment, 300 new jobs in Louisville for MKC

Tue, 26 Aug 2014

Remember when we used to talk about how close Lincoln was to being axed and how it seemed any day now the Grim Reaper would use it as a car service back to the grave? Last time we did it was, oh, not even a month ago. What a difference 27 days makes: Ford and Lincoln are trumpeting a $129M investment in the Louisville Assembly Plant that builds the MKC.
In July the MKC was the third-best-selling Lincoln of the brand's six offerings, beat by the MKZ and - by a much smaller margin - the MKX. It has sold 2,895 units in the two months it's been on sale, which is more than half the year-to-date sales of the MKS, MKT and Navigator. It's already important, is what we're trying to say, and this is before the Chinese market gets a crack at it later this year.
The money headed to Kentucky will be joined by 300 new workers, another marker in Ford's march to create 12,000 hourly jobs in the US by next year. You can read more about it in the press release below.

Ford recalling 370,000 Crown Vic, Grand Marquis and Town Car models

Fri, 30 Aug 2013

The Detroit News is reporting that Ford will recall some 370,000 Crown Victoria (pictured), Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car vehicles from model years 2005 through 2011, for an issue regarding the lower intermediate steering shaft. 355,000 of the vehicles in question were sold in the US, with the other 15,000 sold in Canada.
The report indicates that corrosion of the lower intermediate steering shaft could cause a "loss of steering," presumably because of a partial or complete failure of the part. The report points out the dealers will inspect and replace the offending steering component for recalled cars, and may also secure a lower steering column bearing and replace the upper intermediate steering shaft as needed. The company is unaware of any reports of the faulty part causing any accidents or injuries.
Ford helpfully lists states in which corrosion is more likely to have taken place, mostly in the Snow Belt, as you might guess. Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia are listed.
