Those wishing to fly their "green" flag in
the lap of luxury now have a willing ally in which to strut their stuff. The
Lexus RX 400h SUV has an advanced gasoline-electric drivetrain which combines the
perfect marriage between luxury and utility of Lexus' RX midsize crossover
vehicle with great fuel economy and performance of a hybrid.
This front-wheel-drive version uses a hybrid
powertrain system that combines a gasoline-fueled V6 engine with a battery pack
and electric motor generators. Similar to the hybrid setups on other Toyota
products, this 400h can seamlessly accelerate on battery power alone during
light acceleration. It also has a generous 286 horsepower overall, giving it
impressive performance along with superior fuel economy ratings.
Owned by a real estate executive who commuted from
Arizona to Los Angeles, most the miles are highway driven and the SUV shows
very little wear both mechanically and cosmetically.

amazing condition.
In reality, a clean, original finish with only a few minor scratches and rock chips is a very rare and highly desirable trait of any 8-year-old, SUV! In this case, what lies beyond the shiny
exterior speaks volumes about the loving care this Lexus has always received. The owner commuted from Arizona to California for work. Miles are mostly driven on the highway. Surveying the straight and smooth coachwork today, we marvel at how well the finish looks. Brand New Radials with 18” alloy wheels have

The Lexus RX 400h crossover was the first true luxury
hybrid SUV, and this one comes with the premium interior amenities. Inside the streamlined, modern cabin with aluminum
accents are 10-way driver & passenger power leather front seats with heater
controls.
From the carpet to the door panels and headliner
with power moonroof; everything appears untouched. Second-row sliding and reclining split rear seat optimizes passenger comfort. All VIN stickers are in place. Always garaged and never smoked in, the

Driving through a continuously variable transmission,
the 400h produces 268 hp and has a 0-60-mph time of less than 8 seconds.

traditional gas-powered sibling but with whisper quiet electric motors. Put

Lexus LF-1 Limitless looks like a curvy crossover concept
Tue, Dec 5 2017Lexus released a teaser for a new concept that will make its debut at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show, and it has quite the name. The company calls it the LF-1 Limitless, a name that wouldn't sound out of place on a battleship. According to Lexus, the name was chosen because this concept "is a flagship crossover that redefines the boundaries of luxury." Frankly, the boundaries that make up the high-dollar crossover segment are definitely well-tread by now. What we can tell is that the concept's heavily raked D-pillar suggests it will have a coupe-inspired look similar to the BMW X6 and Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe. The bodywork features many curvy lines and exaggerated wheel arches. It will be interesting if this LF-1 has flagship size to go with its flagship description, which would put it in competition with the upcoming Audi Q8. This concept is well-worth keeping an eye on, since Lexus has a history of previewing future production models with the LF moniker. Examples include 2009's LF-Ch that became the CT 200h, 2012's LF-LC coupe that became the LC 500, 2013's LF-NX that became the Lexus NX crossover, and 2015's LF-FC that became the new LS sedan. Not everything makes it to production, such as the LF-SA mini car, and the LF-C2 that suggested an RC convertible. But there's a strong enough history of production cars coming from LF concepts that this LF-1 could be the preview of a new production model. Related Video:
Lexus RC F and GS F 10th Anniversary Editions are all black and blue
Fri, Jun 8 2018Lexus's F marque, the letter affixed to sport-tuned and performance models, debuted just over 10 years ago when the IS F hit dealer showrooms. The V8-powered sedan was a direct competitor to the tried and true BMW M3. The IS F was followed by the V10-powered LFA, RC F coupe and GS F sedan. In celebration of the F sub-brand's 10th anniversary, Lexus is rolling out two new limited edition variants of the RC F and GS F. In America, only 240 RC Fs and 100 GS Fs will be available. There is a price to pay for exclusivity. The RC F 10th Anniversary Edition starts at $80,810, a $16,160 premium over the standard model. It's not just special badging. The new model comes standard with the Performance Package, Triple Beam headlights and Intuitive Park Assist. Those three options will run you $7,160 on their own. At $89,350, the GS F 10th Anniversary Edition is only a $5,000 premium over the standard model. Both cars come with matte Nebula Grey paint, 19-inch black BBS wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, and Brembo brakes with blue calipers. The RC F has blue leather seating with white accents up front as well as blue accents on the shift knob, steering wheel and instrument panel cover. The GS F gets blue leather seating both front and rear. There are blue carbon-fiber accents, blue suede on the dash and blue seat belts. Additionally, the GS F gets blue leather on the steering wheel, console and shift knob. The RC F and GS F are still powered by a 467 horsepower naturally-aspirated 5.0-liter V8. Power is sent to the rear wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission. Both cars also pack a torque vectoring differential. Look for these special edition models later this year. Mon, 25 Mar 2013Is A New Kind Of Lexus Hiding Under That Radical Skin?
When the now-outgoing Lexus IS generation was launched back in 2006, the company would not have been wise to bring the compact luxury sedan to be driven by journalists to a track like Driveway Austin Motorsports. Taking along a BMW 335i for comparison loops would have proved an ill choice as well.
Our own Jonathon Ramsey found the current-generation Lexus IS250 to be fairly nimble over a tightly wound autocross course, when he drove it back-to-back with the prototype version of this 2014 IS a few months ago. Our track for testing the fully realized version of the IS350 F-Sport meanwhile - again with the 2013 version along for competitive driving - was on a circuit designed to string together recreations of some of the best tracks in the world. Laguna Seca, bits of the Nürburgring and sections inspired by Imola and Ferrari's Fiorano test track all make for a far more enticing road course than you'd expect to find plunked down in a nondescript area a few miles east of downtown Austin. Critically, this environment highlighted what strides Lexus has made in the sport sedan race with its new IS.
