This has been my personal example of a very low mile, California, rust free, non-sunroof, last year Series I Discovery!! Kitted with LR window shields, LR light guards F&R, SD roof rack, fresh +2" OME suspension upgrade, 235/85 BFG tires, painted alloys, Saudi Grille, custom slider/steps/nerfs, fuel tank skid, Defender HD steering components including stabilizer relocation and steering drop arm, custom front bumper (ARB substitute available) w/ Warn winch (9.5 Ti in lieu of 8274 shown), custom RTE rear bumper, etc, etc. NOTE: HD axles F&R as well as F&R lockers are available at extra cost, for the epitome of offroad prowess in a nice understated Classic Land Rover!! Vehicle also has functional cold weather package which is a fluke being from Ca, as well as fresh headliner, new oil cooler lines, etc.
Feel free to see my obsession for Land Rovers on my site thervrbarn, and feel free to contact me with questions at 704.650.6318 between 8 am and 9 pm EST. Sadly, I must insist on bidders with less than 5 transactions or feedback less than 100% contact me prior to bidding, or your bid will be cancelled. This is an honest and sincere attempt to sell my personal vehicle, and would appreciate your respect regarding bidding- this keeps cost down for buyers and provides serious buyers a chance to obtain a classic Land Rover model. IMPORTANT: This is a 15 year old Land Rover -a British SUV with low miles. However, as a whole, they can be finicky and obstinate, though solid and reliable is their forte. Regardless, the vehicle is available for inspection PRIOR to bidding, and same is in fact encouraged!! No warranty of any kind is given, expressed or implied- you the bidder are responsible to inspect prior to bidding, and then if you are the successful high bidder, you are the proud new owner once payment has been made!! Thanks for looking, and good luck bidding on a last model year classic Land Rover!! Cheers |

Lots of Land Rovers, Jaguars and Minis actually survived that near-capsized ship
Thu, Jan 29 2015Despite a severe list to starboard, many of the 1,400 cars and SUVs aboard the 51,000-ton Hoegh Osaka are currently being recovered in salvageable condition, with video showing some of the vehicles from British brands Land Rover, Jaguar and Mini, being driven ashore under their own power. The car-carrying vessel developed a severe list on January 3 and was intentionally run aground on a sandbar between England and the Isle of Wight. It has since limped its way back to port in Southampton, where damage assessments are being conducted on both the ship and its $53-million in cargo. According to the company that owns the car carrier, the ship itself only suffered minor damage in the incident, while Car and Driver is reporting that many of the damaged vehicles will almost certainly be scrapped. Still, the fact that there are vehicles, some of which appear undamaged (look at that Defender at 0:50!), being removed from the Hoegh Osaka needs to count as a net win. Jaguar Land Rover building new R&D center for hybrids, EVs, autonomous cars
Wed, 25 Sep 2013The success of Jaguar Land Rover in recent years has largely been down to a resurgent product lineup, but a recent move into the research and development will see the British-based, Indian-owned brands take the fight to its German rivals more aggressively than ever before.
JLR is investing 50 million pounds ($80,345,000, as of this writing) in a joint R&D center in central England. The move will more than triple its staff dedicated to research, from 150 to 500, with Wolfgang Epple, JLR's Director of Research and Technology telling Automotive News Europe, "In order to play among the big animals in automotive and to be anchored in the mind of customers you have to have offered something unique, to be first in market. We want to be one of the key premier automotive manufacturers."
Jaguar Land Rover's 50-million-pound contribution represents more than half of the 94-million-pound tab, on the so-called National Automotive Innovation Campus. Based at Warwick University, Tata's European Technical Center, Warwick Manufacturing Group and the Higher Education Funding Council, an agency of the British government, are all chipping in for the facility.
