1997 Land Rover Discovery 300tdi on 2040-cars
Portland, Oregon, United States
1997 Land Rover Discovery
300Tdi Conversion 155,xxx miles on chassis 65,xxx miles on engine Clean Title This was originally a V8 Discovery that was converted correctly and properly with no check engine lights and none of the 3 amigo lights. Engine has a fresh head gasket and resurfaced head along with new water pump and timing belt. The radiator has been recored and shocks have been replaced on all 4 corners. Also has 4 newer studded tires on it at the moment. The body has no dents but a few scratches and some clear coat fading on the hood and roof. On the passenger side rear roof window there is a paint rub from a garage door. The interior has power everything including seats. Originally it had cloth interior which I swapped for leather and added switches on the seat base to have power seats. There are no tears or cracks on any of the seats. The headliner was pulled out and reglued correctly to the backing. This discovery has no sunroofs so no leaks. This Discovery runs and drives great with no issues at all. I would drive across country without worry(well except for it being a Rover Haha). I currently average 29.5mpgs using BioDiesel slightly better(31mpg) with regular diesel. I have trimmed the front bumper but really besides the conversion that is the only mod that has been done. Has factory roof rack and rear retractable step. If you have any questions please email me. In a perfect world I would love to trade this for cash and another Rover(2002 and newer). This is for sale locally so auction can ended with warning. This is tilted as a gasoline vehicle still so if you live in a area that requires emissions you could potentially have a issue getting plates in your state but it currently has oregon plates to 11/2014, just want to be honest so buyer is fully aware. Thanks and good luck |

Land Rover, Toyota big winners in ALG top resale value awards
Tue, 18 Nov 2014
"Residual value is important for automakers and consumers because it's a complete indicator of the vehicle's future value." - Larry Dominique
Toyota and Land Rover took home the top brand honors in ALG's 2015 Residual Value Awards, which will be presented this week at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
Land Rover planning SVX hardcore off-roaders
Sun, May 3 2015The new Special Vehicle Operations division at Jaguar Land Rover has already given us an array of ultimate wheeled creations, but it isn't quite done yet. Next, according to Car and Driver, will be a new line of SVX models. Not to be confused with the Subaru coupe from the 1990s (which also had all-wheel drive, come to think of it), Land Rover's SVX models will be hardcore off-roaders. Details are few and far between at the moment, but they're said to take inspiration from rough-terrain events like the Dakar Rally and Camel Trophy as inspiration – different from the Ford F-150 Raptor that takes its cues from the Baja 1000. Last we heard, Land Rover was planning a hardcore Defender to send the model off to pasture in high-performance style, and considering an extreme Range Rover as well. If either of those rumors materialize, they look like they'd be prime candidates for the SVX line. JLR Special Vehicle Operations has already showcased what it can do with the high-performance Range Rover Sport SVR, the luxed-up Range Rover SVAutobiography, the exclusive F-Type Project 7 and the continuation classic Lightweight E-Type. C/D confirms that further SVR models are in store to replace Jaguar's R-S performance models, while the SVX line would likely remain exclusive to Land Rover.
Jaguar-Land Rover builds millionth vehicle at Halewood
Fri, 29 Nov 2013Jaguar-Land Rover is not what you'd call a volume automaker by any stretch of the imagination. But in the dozen years since it started manufacturing at its Halewood plant near Liverpool, England, the automaker has already built its millionth vehicle.
The landmark vehicle is a Range Rover Evoque, done up in white with red roof and mirrors, black wheels and a red and black interior. The crossover is set to be donated to Cancer Research UK, which will auction it off next year to help fund its projects in the north-west of the country.
Halewood started manufacturing the Jaguar X-Type in 2001, then went on to assemble the Land Rover LR2 / Freelander 2 before taking on production of the Evoque a year and a half ago. The facility reached the 300,000-unit milestone just last year as production moved to a 24-hour cycle for the first time in either marque's history.
