1985 Land Rover Defender 110 High Capacity Pickup.
The actual VIN # is SALLDHHC8BA226817, ebay would not recognize it so I had to use a VIN from another truck. You can go to http://www.clifton.nl/index.html?calvin.html to decode it. This is the only Original Left Hand Drive 110 HCPU that I have ever seen in the US. I bought this truck in Italy and had it shipped over earlier this year. I love this truck! This is the truck the the Lara Croft Tomb Raider Truck is based off of. I had planned on keeping this thing forever, but I am looking to get a Unimog now instead so I can add the PTO attachments to it. Due to the Italian climate, this truck is virtually rust free. The body is very straight and clean besides a few scratches on the outside of the truck bed on the driver's side where some random jerk keyed it while it was sitting in a parking lot. The engine is very strong and the truck always starts. The truck drives nice and straight and the suspension is in great shape. (I don't believe this thing was ever used for off roading) The tires are almost brand new as you can see from the pictures. I will now list below what the truck needs in my opinion. Wheel Barrings (The two on the passenger side have started squeaking so I have stopped driving it until those are replaced. Rubber Center Wheel Caps (There are a few of them missing as seen in the pictures) Clutch (Works just find, but feels a little soft) Brake Master Cylinder (Feels a little lumpy when you are braking) Windshield wiper switch (Works, but the end has been broken off) Heater Switch Cable (currently just missing) Seat Covers (There are a few tears as seen in the pictures) Dash Cap (Has some cracks in it from normal aging) Gauge Cluster outer molding (Has cracked where the screws connect it to the dash) Window Rubber (Does not leak but is starting to crack) Rubber Floor Cover (It is ripped around the gear shifter base) Rubber Pedal Covers (They are just missing) All of these things are very minor fixes on a very solid truck. I will include all of the above new parts IF the BUY IT NOW is used. Truck has an Arkansas Title now. You can call me at 870-405-3882 or message me on ebay if you have any questions. |

Land Rover could build a baby Defender on a platform sourced from BMW
Mon, Aug 12 2019The collaboration between BMW and Jaguar-Land Rover started out small, it was originally limited to motors for electric cars, but it might not stay that way for long. The Tata-owned British sister companies will allegedly rummage through Munich's sizable parts bin to build nearly half a dozen cars scheduled to come out during the 2020s. According to a report by British magazine Autocar, Jaguar has started designing two small cars that will join its growing family of Pace-badged soft-roaders. They'll be new additions to the firm's portfolio, not replacements for existing cars. One will be a regular crossover, while the other will be a swoopier, form-over-function four-door model ostensibly marketed as a coupe. Both will slot at the very bottom of the Jaguar portfolio, below the already pretty small E-Pace, in a growing market segment where the competition is fierce, and profit margins are thinner than an i3's tires. Here's where BMW apparently comes in. Instead of developing a platform from scratch, the two crossovers could ride on the hybrid-ready, front-wheel drive FAAR architecture found under the third-generation 1 Series hatchback and the upcoming 2 Series Gran Coupe. If we believe an earlier report claiming Jaguar and BMW will also share engines, most of the hardware found under the sheet metal will have German genes. All-wheel drive will certainly be available, and it could also come from BMW. The same platform -- and, presumably, the same engines -- would provide the basis for a Land Rover-badged model positioned in the same segment. Autocar learned it will be to the next-generation Defender (pictured) what the Mercedes-Benz GLB is to the G-Class. Some key design cues will carry over, but the two models will share absolutely nothing under the sheet metal. The soft-roader could resurrect the Freelander nameplate when it goes on sale during the 2020s. Looking even further ahead, the front-wheel-drive platform the next Mini Countryman and X1 will utilize could find its way under the replacements for the next Range Rover Evoque and Discovery Sport. These plans could very well change; the Evoque and the Disco Sport barely entered their second generation, so they're not due for a replacement until the second half of the coming decade. While neither company has confirmed or denied the report, the partnership makes sense from a business standpoint.
2016 Jaguar F-Type R at Monticello | AutoblogVR
Tue, Sep 27 2016This week we indulged in a bit of fun. We took one of our favorite sports cars, the 2016 Jaguar F-Type to Monticello Motor Club north of New York. Senior Editor Greg Migliore selected the 550-horsepower R variant and pushed this Jag to the limit at one of North America's prettiest tracks. He reveled in the supercharged V8's power and sound as he embraced Monticello's curves and long straightaways. Meanwhile, Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski had a similar experience. Kind of. He lapped Monticello in the 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR and then went off-roading at a challenging course nearby. It's the best of both worlds. He gets to soak in the blown V8 – but also gets to splatter a little mud. Each week, new episodes will launch on the AutoblogVR App. We'll preview them here on Autoblog, but for the full immersive experience, head over to the app, which you can download for free from the App store and Google Play. Be sure to try it with a cardboard viewer, too! Jaguar Land Rover Driving Off-Road Vehicles Videos VR Original Video virtual reality 360video
Tata to get Jaguar and Land Rover tech, platforms too?
Tue, 22 Jul 2014Since buying Jaguar Land Rover, Indian automaker Tata has generally left its luxury arm's platforms and technology alone. However, those days might be gone. The two of them are gradually growing closer with coordinated development and rumors of shared platforms. And it looks like all of that work and money is finally going to pay off with an actual vehicle in the near future.
According to Australian website Drive, Tata wants to make its cars more attractive to buyers outside of India, and to do that the company knows it must improve quality. The Indian company is being careful, though, because it doesn't want to dilute the Jaguar or Land Rover brands with cheap models. "You're going to see in the future a lot of sharing of technologies and platforms over time, but you won't see a JLR with a Tata badge on it," said Darren Bowler, managing director of Tata's Australian distributor, to Drive.
According to Bowler, these future vehicles are already on the way. Tata and JLR have a global platform in the works for 2017 that both companies could use for cars or crossovers. He also hinted that Jaguar's new Ingenium engines could be shared among the brands in the future, too.
