1973 Wagoneer with Quadra-Trac full time four-wheel-drive, the odometer reads 13,XXX miles and I can not be sure how many times it has turned over in 40+ years. This wagon has a 360 ci V8, factory air conditioning (needs to be charged),and a power rear window that does work with help. The underside and frame are clean and free from rot. The photographs show any areas that need attention on both the interior as well as the exterior but here is a list:
There is surface rust on the flat surfaces of this vehicle but it is not rotted through, it is more of a "patina" some might say. There does not appear to be any filler in the body, all of the chrome and stainless bumpers, emblems, and trim are in great, rust-free condition and all there. This Jeep starts, runs, shifts, and drives great, it is a pleasure to drive and is dependable as an every day vehicle. This would provide an excellent foundation for a restoration or can be driven in its original state. I believe that I have listed everything to the best of my knowledge, please ask questions and I will provide additional photographs if requested. This is an as-is no reserve auction, the buyer is responsible for shipping/transportation. This is a 40+ year old vehicle that has not been restored, please look carefully and ask questions. Should there be winning bid, please contact me within 24 hours of the auction's end to make arrangements, I am willing to work with anyone on the details. |

Chrysler earns $1.7B in 2012, revises product plans for US
Wed, 30 Jan 2013Hot on the heels of Ford's earnings announcement for the year that was, Chrysler today reported a 2012 net income of $1.7 billion, up substantially from the comparatively minuscule $183 million profit earned in 2011 when it repaid its US government loans.
Chrysler's good year ended with an excellent fourth quarter that saw net income rise 68 percent from $225 million in 2011 to $378 million. Where are all those extra earnings coming from? Market share, which Chrysler saw increase to 11.4% last year on sales of 1.65 million vehicles. In fact, the Auburn Hills, MI-based automaker out-paced the industry's market growth of 13 percent last year with sales up 21 percent for the year.
The company also revealed an updated product plan for its Chrysler Group and Fiat brands that looks all the way out to 2016. It's an updated version of the plan introduced in 2009 shortly after Fiat took control of the American automaker, and includes such new additions as an Alfa Romeo model, likely the 4C, to be introduced in the US this year, as well five more Alfa models by 2016. Likewise, Fiat will be growing by an additional seven models in the coming few years.
NHTSA closes investigation into Jeep Liberty fires
Sun, 16 Mar 2014The investigation that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened into the Jeep Liberty in October 2013 has been closed. NHTSA received two (!) complaints about fires starting in the driver's door, thought to be caused by the master power window switch. The initial estimate was that 80,000 Libertys could be roped into a possible recall, but according to a report in the Detroit News the agency examined records for 425,000 Chrysler products that used the same window switch, including the Dodge Nitro and Chrysler Town & Country minivan.
After canvassing 265 warranty claims related to the master switches, NHTSA concluded that the rate of fires compared to the "large population of vehicles" was rather low, and that there was no trend pattern behind the few issues it did find. Perhaps with that, and the closure of the trailer hitch investigation, the Liberty can finally rest in peace.
