2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Srt8 Sport Utility 4-door 6.1l on 2040-cars
Wellsville, New York, United States
Up for bid is my 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8. This vehicle is in outstanding shape. Heated garage stored in the winter, I purchased this Jeep from southern PA last year so it has never been driven in salt or snow. I'm lucky to drive it once a weekend when the weather is nice. Interior: Excellent shape. All leather is perfect with no tears or stains. Treated with Meguiars leather conditioner. I have two sets of floor mats both mopar brand mats. Rubber mats and the original carpet mats. Power everything. It has every option available for the 2006 model year. Comes with navigation DVD which works excellent. Also has an added plug to hook up iPhones or iPods which allows steering wheel controls to be used. Exterior: Exterior is also flawless. Always hand washed and waxed with turtle wax ice synthetic. I removed the original chrome wheels and purchased 4 new wheels in matte black. Also brand new tire pressure sensors, valve caps and black lug nuts. The tires were brand new less than 6k miles ago and are wearing perfect. Between 8-9 32nds tread. Original wheels and sensors included. The stock wheels have no curb rash. Engine: It has the 6.1 liter Hemi. Originally 426hp. I installed a SLP loudmouth exhaust. Sounds awesome. Also included is an aftermarket cold air intake from Volante. Less than 1k miles on the cold air intake. I also have a Diablo sport intune programmer that I can include with the vehicle for an added price. Between the 3 upgrades est crank hp is very close to 500hp. It is an absolute monster. So incredible to drive and feel all the power and the incredible handling. Current mileage is shown in the pictures but it may very a little, I do still drive it when I am home on weekends. No mechanical or electrical problems. Everything works exactly as it should. Low mileage compared to other srts the same year. Don't miss out on a chance to buy a beautiful SRT8! Just passed New York State inspection. |

Car Club USA: Louisiana Mudfest
Tue, Jun 16 2015There's nothing quite like mudding. Big tires, huge power, and crazy-wild gearheads that like to throw down on a mud pit almost as much as a thirty rack of Coors. In the latest, and some might argue greatest yet episode of Car Club USA, we head to Louisiana to throw some dirt at Mudfest. As Louisiana's one and only Mouth of the South puts it, "If you don't mud ride... go to Texas I guess." Joining The Mouth and friendly rivals The Most Hated Mud Sluts, we dive in. Beyond the obvious V8 blasting and tractor-tire spinning, those who know best describe Mudfest as, "Good cooking, good friends, good fun, and a lot of partying." It's a motorsport spectacle unlike any you're likely to find up North or out West, though no less impressive to behold. Follow along with the fun, the impromptu drag racing, the trash talking, and the mechanical madness. And find out why, at Mudfest, "if we don't tear it up, we ain't done it right." Each Car Club USA episode features a different car club or event from across the US, where passionate owner communities gather to share automotive experiences and embark on incredible adventures. From Main Street cruises to off-road trails, catch all the latest car club activity on Autoblog. Chevrolet Ford Jeep RAM Truck Off-Road Vehicles Car Club USA Videos autoblog black
Freak accident during Jeep demonstration turns fatal
Mon, 20 May 2013A 20-year-old woman was killed in Edmonton, Canada on Satuday, reports CTV News, in a freak accident resulting from a rollover during a Jeep demonstration. As part of a fundraising enthusiast event called "Jeeps Go Topless," the driver of one Jeep Wrangler drove up and onto the top of the tire of another.
CTV reports that the owner of the topmost Jeep then switched the vehicle off, posed for pictures and then dismounted from his vehicle. His movement off of the Jeep apparently caused it to tip over, crushing a woman who was on top of an adjacent vehicle. Edmonton police are currently investigating more fully what caused the parking lot accident to occur. Scroll below to watch the CTV News video report about this tragic incident.
2016 Jeep Wrangler to ditch solid axles to save weight?
Tue, 29 Oct 2013Hey, Jeep fans. If you think the idea of a funky-looking, car-based Cherokee revival is offensive, have a listen to what might be in store for the next-gen Jeep Wrangler. Automotive News is reporting that as Jeep develops the 2016 Wrangler, weight reduction is a crucial target, and the Wrangler's rugged solid axles could be sacrificed in the name of better fuel economy.
We've already heard the next Wrangler will go on a serious diet using aluminum body panels and an air suspension system, so the idea of a four-wheel independent suspension setup for this OG SUV isn't all that surprising. Besides, it's not like an independent suspension would limit the Wrangler's off-road abilities - just check out the Hummer H1. In fact, it might be the aftermarket parts companies - not Wrangler enthusiasts - who would be most disappointed by such a drastic suspension change, as the article states that the Wrangler's solid axles and coil-link suspension make it the most popular SUV for customization.
There are probably still a couple years before we'll start hearing any concrete details about the 2016 Wrangler, at which time it will be interesting to see how stricter fuel economy and crash safety regulations have been balanced with traditional Wrangler cues like its removable doors and roof and folding windshield. Let us know in the comments below if a Wrangler sans solid axles is any less of a Wrangler.
