2001 Jeep Cherokee Factory RHD, 4x4 Four Door. Power Window, Power Locks. 189,700 miles. Re-built transmission at 177,650 miles. I have owned this Jeep since approx. 135k miles. I am the second owner. Well maintained since I have owned it and many new parts put in. When first purchased in March of 2011- Tie rods, track bar, upper and lower ball joints, right window regulator, turn signal flasher, front axle u-joints, transmission mount, rear hatch latch. 2012- Valve cover set, oil seal, shocks, e-brake cables, harmonic balancer.
2013- Transmission rebuilt at 177,650. Idler pulley. 2014- Alternator, repaired wiring in right front door that controlled all of the power windows. Front Right axle u-joint, Right and Left front wheel bearings, new drilled and slotted rotors, new calipers, and new pads. The tires have good tread of them. I also have a second set of rims. I had summer and winter tires the extra rims made it easy to switch out. There is some rust on the bottom of the doors and rocker panels but no rust through that I can see. I took it to a guy and had them sand it and put rhino liner on those parts to try to slow down the rust but that is coming off so it needs to be done again. There is some rust through on the left rear wheel well. The rest of the wheel wells are just some rust but no rust through that I can see. The passenger side door (left) armrest that goes up around the window controls is cracked. The bezel that goes around the shifter is broken. It was that way when I bought it and I have taken it apart a couple of times and re-glued it. The light works and you can see what gear your in, it just sits a little crocked. You might be able to order a new one through Jeep. To my knowledge everything else works. I always replaced things as they were needed so it should be good to go. It has an after market radio so you have a CD player. I also have a set of boards that if you take all of the passenger seats out completely, the boards go in to make the entire inside a flat surface for delivering mail. YouTube tallies votes for this year's top five Super Bowl spots [w/video]
Tue, 19 Feb 2013When we asked you to tell us which of this year's 16 car-themed Super Bowl commercials you liked best, you chose the Farmer commercial from Chrysler Group, advertising the Ram trucks, over Audi's Prom commercial in second place. Turns out the voters in YouTube's Ad Blitz poll agreed, voting the same commercial to the number one spot from among the field commercials in every category.
From there, however, they went in a totally different direction. Budweiser's The Clydesdales spot came second, Samsung's The Next Big Thing took third. The Jeep Whole Again ad scored fourth in the YouTube poll, fifth in our poll of auto commercials, and the Hyundai Team spot got fifth from the YouTubers, but ninth in our poll.
The voting results don't match up with the viewing numbers, though - while Farmer has more than 13 million views, The Next Big Thing is well beyond 21 million. You can read the press release below and see all five spots, lined up for you, one more time.
2014 Jeep Cherokee facing production delay
Fri, 17 May 2013Jeep's bold-faced new direction spearheaded by the 2014 Cherokee is facing some teething issues. According to a report by the Detroit Free Press, production start-up of the controversial new utility vehicle at its Toledo North facility is running about a month behind schedule "due to a wide range of issues." That's according to Mark Chernoby, senior vice president of engineering at Chrysler.
Chernoby maintains that the issues being encountered aren't unusual for the launch of a new vehicle - particularly one with a new powertrain - and he downplayed the delay, telling Jeep dealers that they "will have ample inventory of the midsize SUV by fall." Among the kinks being worked out? Calibrating the Cherokee's cutting-edge ZF nine-speed automatic transmission and refining assembly line tasks to make the process more efficient.
Chrysler expects to start building retail-ready versions of the Cherokee around mid-June, with official sales slated to start in September.
Fiat Chrysler target 850k sales in China by 2018
Sun, 11 May 2014Behind the vanguard of numerous Jeep models, two Chryslers, a smattering of Fiats and Alfa Romeos and local production through a joint venture with Guangzhou Automotive Group (GAG), Fiat Chrysler wants to increase sales in China more than six-fold by 2018. The group sold 130,000 cars in China in 2013, the aim for 2018 being 850,000 cars.
Ultimately it's expected that the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Cherokee, Wrangler, Renegade, the coming Grand Wagoneer and a sub-Renegade-sized crossover will either be built in or exported to the People's Republic. The Chrysler Town & Country and 300 will join the export list in 2016 and 2018 respectively, according to a report in Automotive News.
With a number of those vehicles not in production or perhaps even envisaged yet, and others not due on the local market until 2018, it will be interesting to see how Fiat Chrysler plans to achieve the target in the specified timeframe. The joint venture with GAG builds two products now, the Dodge Dart-based Fiat Viaggio launched two years ago - supposedly designed just for China - and the just-launched Fiat Ottimo, a hatchback version of the Viaggio. Fiat projected 300,000 Viagio sales in its first two years, that number has been adjusted downward to 94,000 and there doesn't appear to be an analyst alive that sees a good future for Fiat in China's overrun mainstream market. Still, last year's 130,000 group sales in China is a huge jump from 2012 sales of 66,000 units, but less than half the 300,000 units it projected.
