I am pleased to offer a wonderful and unique opportunity to own a rare and exceptional Jaguar XK120 OTS roadster. In mint and spectacular condition with numerous engine and performance mods making it by far one of the finest running and driving 120s available. The car was sold new in September 1953 by Charles Hornburg of Beverly Hills California to Mr. Karl Steil of Los Angeles where it has been almost it's entire life. The most recent owner was celebrity actor/ professional race driver and Star of ER television show.  During his ownership the car was simpathetically restored with complete mechanical rebuild and new PPG paint over the original stripped down in the original color Battleship Grey.  The red and creme Connolly Leather remains in excellent condition. The engine and mechanical upgrades where completed by Winning Makes in Santa Barbara Cailfornia. The engine which is the original and has received a complete overhaul to high performance specs with improved and uprated crankshaft, special cam shafts, pistons, rods etc. The carbs where also upgraded to the larger 2 inch SUs. Aluminum radiatior and Spal electric fan maintain the running temp. The car is smooth, fast, and reliable. Truly a joy to drive. It retains the original Moss gearbox and it works well and adds the whine typical of these 4 speed gearboxes.  Jaguar front disc brakes from a MK 10 increase the stopping ability over the original drums . Suspension and all mechanical components have beed redone to very high standards. The car is perfect for a fast vintage rally as this Jaguar will hang with the best and it drives and handles superbly. Recent expenditures of over $120,000 ( have receipts) were spent to assure this quality and drivability.  All Numbers Match and the History can't get better. Jaguar Heritage Document. All tools and equipt. such and tire pump grease gun jack etc.  Original 16 Dunlop wires are show condition as are the newer Verdenstein tires.  Period correct leather hood strap , Motolita 4 spoke steering wheel and front badge bar are examples of some of the wonderful details. A new stainless exhaust system sounds better than it looks along with Big Bore stainless steel headers. Original Owners manual and booklets from the originating dealer. I can be reached for serious questions at 805.895.1226 Martin. Jaguar purists please refrain from commenting on correctness of the car as we are aware of the changes made. This is not a restored car but a pristine immaculately maintained original. photo IMG_3838_zps8f7823b9.jpg photo IMG_3833_zps9dc9f8ed.jpg photo IMG_3831_zpsf89341c8.jpg photo IMG_3829_zps85b35648.jpg photo IMG_3828_zps3db18d68.jpg photo IMG_3827_zps39d20015.jpg photo IMG_3826_zps4242801b.jpg photo IMG_3824_zps3bb8a357.jpg photo IMG_3823_zpsb65f14e5.jpg photo IMG_3822_zps9fdf2055.jpg photo IMG_3820_zps1aa0fb2d.jpg photo IMG_3840_zps2b5ad3ea.jpg photo IMG_3844_zpsf1612085.jpg photo IMG_3851_zps5dbc2c28.jpg photo IMG_2856_zps5d8ae5b3.jpg photo IMG_3026_zps2a1ad85b.jpg photo IMG_3025_zpsa613bb6c.jpg photo IMG_3024_zpsc873fd0a.jpg photo IMG_3023_zps0860f9de.jpg photo IMG_3034_zps6f1cf34d.jpg photo IMG_3035_zps45335439.jpg photo IMG_3037_zps3b6ed91b.jpg photo IMG_3042_zps7cd27a94.jpg photo IMG_3043_zpse6c8381f.jpg photo IMG_3044_zps1042f522.jpg photo IMG_3045_zpsf5b5c787.jpg photo IMG_3046_zpsb5b67699.jpg photo IMG_3049_zps63e30a90.jpg photo IMG_2855_zps103cc15a.jpg photo IMG_3870_zpsfc714856.jpg photo 6a00e54fb7301c88340105361868ea970b-800wi_zps91c1cc03.jpg photo IMG_3816_zps664edd90.jpg photo PDempsey062908_18_X17_zpsfc9a4353.jpg photo IMG_0001_zps1c72b99f.jpg

Jaguar launches new classic racing series

Fri, 14 Nov 2014

One-make racing series have become all the rage for customers who want to actually race their exotic sports cars (or competition-spec versions of them, anyway). Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini and Aston Martin all offer such programs, and Porsche supports several. Now Jaguar is getting in on the action as well, but instead of turning one of its production models - we're looking at you, F-Type - into a spec racer, it's launching an historic racing series instead.
The 2015 Jaguar Heritage Challenge will be open to cars made by the Leaping Cat marque before 1966, including the C-Type, D-Type, E-Type and Mk I and MkII sedans. The series, which builds on the success of the previous Jaguar E-Type Challenge, will be administered by the Historic Sports Car Club (HSCC) based at Silverstone and will include four races in the UK and one in Europe, with the exact schedule still to be determined.
The program was announced at the launch of the Jaguar Heritage Driving Experience, where Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations director John Edwards was also named chairman of the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust, replacing former Jaguar managing director Mike O'Driscoll who chaired the organization for the past five years.

Jaguar Land Rover invests $1.5B to build factory in Slovakia

Fri, Dec 11 2015

Jaguar Land Rover will invest 1 billion pounds ($1.5 billion at current rates) to build a new factory in Nitra, Slovakia. Construction will commence in 2016, and the site will have an initial capacity of 150,000 vehicles a year when the first of them roll out in late 2018. JLR expects to employ 2,800 people there. JLR won't yet say what vehicle it will build in Slovakia, other than it will be an all-new aluminum model. The 2018 timing for the plant's start of production seems to coincide with the launch of the radically different next-gen Land Rover Defender, though. Earlier reports suggested that JLR also considered locations in North America, particularly Georgia, and Europe for the new factory. However, the company signaled the Slovakia choice earlier this year when it signed a letter of intent with the government there in August. The automaker then did a final feasibility study before committing to the site. The new factory continues JLR's recent manufacturing expansion. The company opened an engine plant in the UK last year and a factory in China. There will also be one soon in Brazil, and it will reportedly bid to buy the Silverstone Circuit as a new headquarters. JAGUAR LAND ROVER CONFIRMS NEW FACTORY IN SLOVAKIA • New world-class premium manufacturing facility confirmed in Nitra • The next stage of the Company's plans for sustainable global growth • Today's announcement also supports long-term investment in the UK Bratislava, Slovakia – Jaguar Land Rover has confirmed that it will be the first British carmaker to open a manufacturing facility in Slovakia. The announcement follows an agreement between the company and the Government of the Slovak Republic to build a new plant in the city of Nitra, western Slovakia. The new world-class GBP1 billion premium manufacturing facility will eventually employ around 2,800 people. Today's announcement follows Jaguar Land Rover's recent confirmation to double its investment in its engine plant in the UK to almost GBP1 billion – the largest injection into a new British manufacturing plant in decades creating several hundred new jobs. Dr Ralf Speth, Chief Executive Officer, Jaguar Land Rover commented, "Jaguar Land Rover is delighted today to welcome Slovakia into our family. The new factory will complement our existing facilities in the UK, China, India and Brazil and marks the next step in the company's strategy to become a truly global business.

Jaguar wants to make real-life driving just like a video game

Thu, 10 Jul 2014

Jaguar Land Rover is on a bit of a tech bent today. It's announced its new family of four-cylinder engines and a "self-learning" vehicle Range Rover prototype, and now it's announced what it calls the Jaguar Virtual Windscreen.
The technology is similar to other head-up displays and telematics recorders already on the market, the Jaguar Virtual Windscreen concept takes things to the next level to turn real-life driving into a video game-like experience. It's being demonstrated with data like lap times, grid positions, virtual racing line and brake guidance... even "ghost" cars from previous laps and virtual cones for simulated autocrossing. Just like you'd find in the latest version of Forza or Gran Turismo, but you know... in an actual car - in this case a Jaguar F-Type. It's similar to the Transparent Bonnet system Land Rover revealed a couple of months ago, but instead of rock-crawling, it's for the race track.
The system also incorporates gesture controls and could be configured to display instrument data, a video feed from a rear-view camera to replace the mirror. Check out the details and the video below for a closer look at what JLR has got in store for the near future.
