Hello all,

Here is a fantastic xke project for the right enthusiast. This is a great start to a beautiful xke coupe and the value of this car will always increase. Tons of work anmd money have been spent on her and needs the new owner to take her the rest of the way. I am buying a 140 and that is the only reason i am selling. So on to the details. This car was never intended to be a 100 point concourse car, but more of a beautiful restored driver. Everything that has been done has been done to high standards, but not to factory original. Like i added a stainless bolt kit, not the proper cad plated bolts, although they are included. things have been powdercoated instead of painted, Etc. so due to these things its not a 100 point original car. The firewall forward is beautiful and looks great. tons new. there are things that need to be finished, like wiring her up, hydraulics, and general tightening up. I do have new rebuild kits for some things. The body is very straight with minor dings and what not, nothing crazy. the interior is pretty nice and i believe all original. i was gonna leave it alone as it has that very nice patina every one is looking for. the worst part is the drivers seat has wear on the bolster and drivers doorpanel needs some attention. both relatively minor fixes. Dash and gauges look to be in great shape, as does the trunk area. nice driver condition interior only needing minor attention. Engine and tranny were rebuilt and driven only 3,000 miles, carbs have been rebuilt. chrome is in overall great shape. wheels look awesome as do bumpers and trim.
There are some downsides to the car, i do not have a center section of the bonnet. it was disassembled and the center section is now missing. i have fenders and lower valence. I have access to a full bonnet for 850, if buyer would like it. there is some rust in the passenger foot well. passenger side rockers, suspension point look awesome. very nice. the drivers side has some rust in the lower rocker and floor area, nothing crazy. the doors, trunk and spare tire area etc are all excellent. also the title has been lost and the new owner will need to have the car inspected or get a lost title, however you would like. didnt bother me as i was going to get one from texas auto title. I didnt know what to put in the title area in description so i just picked one
All in all this is an amazing car for the right guy. the car has an almost new stainless exhaust, brand new full weather strip kit, theres some new rotors, and tons of miscellaneous new parts in boxes. with some assembly and paint you will have a beautiful xke that will stun people. also the rear end was redone at some point with not too many miles on here. Also, car has original jack kit in leather holder, original spare, amco bars etc. to be clear the front end still needs some assembly. also the car has ac, and is a full matching numbered car. including block, head, and tranny. im sure i forgot stuff so please ask questions. also i have a buy it now in mind but i dont wanna put it up due to scammers so feel free to call me if you are serious. thanks 425 802 8682

Motor Trend pits Aston V12 Vantage S against Jaguar XKR-S GT in battle of the Brits

Fri, 20 Dec 2013

With the recent increase in higher-performance versions of already high-performance vehicles, like Mercedes-Benz and its AMG Black Series, the public is now gaining even greater access to speed and maneuverability. Two of the most recent sports cars to get their wicks turned up include the Jaguar XKR-S GT and the Aston Martin V12 Vantage S.
Both of these cars are the pinnacles of their lines, with the Jag lording over the XKR-S, XKR and XK while the Aston rules over the standard V8 Vantage S and V8 Vantage. Motor Trend has opted to pit the two rivals together for some thorough testing, and it just happened to bring along a few video cameras to capture all the action.
There's nearly 19 minutes of super hot sports car action below, so scroll down and enjoy.

Jaguar F-Pace V6 reminds us why we love supercharged engines

Fri, Oct 6 2017

There are many things we like about our 2018 Jaguar F-Pace long-term car, as well as some things we don't care for, but easily one of the best things about it is the engine. Under the hood is the 380-horsepower supercharged V6 that Jaguar offers on other models. That amount of power would be fun in just about any car with any engine, but there are specific reasons why this particular engine is special, and it's because of that supercharger. Supercharged engines have a very different character than increasingly common turbo engines. One of the most noticeable differences being engine response. Unlike turbo engines, the F-Pace's V6 feels hardwired to your foot. Every extra millimeter of pedal travel yields a slightly greater amount of tug. And the tug is felt immediately. Even the best turbo engines have a hard time recreating this response. The power band is very linear, as well, so you know exactly what you're getting every time you hit the gas. The engine is wonderfully torquey, too. Because the Jaguar's engine uses a classic Roots-type blower, there's a major improvement in low-end torque. This means that our F-Pace has loads of grunt for punting around at low-rpm and can seriously move when tromping on the gas. And because of the near-instant throttle response and linear power band, it doesn't slam you in the back unexpectedly like some turbo engines do. Despite how great these supercharged engines are to experience, we're concerned that supercharged engines like this may disappear in all but ultra-limited production, high-performance cars such as the Chevy Corvette Z06 and Cadillac CTS-V. The reason being that car companies have to keep making cars more fuel efficient and lower emitting. Putting a supercharger on an engine is adding a handicap, since it takes engine power to spin the belt-driven supercharger. And when a turbo, which uses wasted energy from exhaust gas to spin the compressor and built boost, can effectively do the same thing, it's hard to make a case for a supercharger. We won't give up hope completely, though. Mazda is using superchargers on its spark-assisted compression ignition gasoline engines. And while we're not sure how powerful and sporty those will be, Mazda has said that it's going with superchargers for exactly the reasons we like the Jaguar engine: smooth power and fast throttle response.

2021 Jaguar F-Type First Drive | Can we interest you in some loud?

Wed, Aug 12 2020

The 2021 Jaguar F-Type is not a perfect car. There are some cracks in the armor, flaws worth pointing out and nits to pick for car reviewers like us. It’s not a Jaguar version of the unflappable Porsche 911, nor is it a British muscle car. The F-Type has split the difference since the carÂ’s introduction for 2014, and now the two-seaterÂ’s first big update is upon us. Ian Callum left Jaguar more than a year ago, but he was still responsible for this revamped design. Few cars featured better styling than the previous F-Type, and the same can be said this time around. Part of that can be attributed to JaguarÂ’s light touch approach. Horizontal headlights and a new grille differentiate the new F-TypeÂ’s face from the last one. The clamshell hood remains, but its sculpting is less prominent and pointy than before. Combined, these new elements result in a softer, gentler face — Jaguar calls it “liquid metal.” At the back, new, I-Pace-inspired LED taillights now sit flush with the massaged bumper.  ItÂ’s still an obvious sports car design, but Jaguar has thrown away the edgy, aggressive persona of the previous F-Type. Forced to pick sides, weÂ’ll take the previous generation – updating a brilliant design is no easy task – but it remains a beautiful car. Onlookers certainly agreed, as our Sorrento Yellow tester drew a colossal amount of attention. One can thank JaguarÂ’s ear-shattering exhaust for some of that attention, too. How much shattering occurs depends on the engine, of course, and the number of pipes poking out of the bumper. Besides the sound, this is also the best way to tell different F-Types apart. Four-cylinder models get a single, central exhaust; V6-equipped cars get a dual central exhaust, and the V8-powered F-Type R continues on with its quad exhaust pushed out to the edges of the rear valance.  2021 Jaguar F-Type P300 View 30 Photos That's the version we drove. Powered by the same 5.0-liter supercharged V8 previously found in the F-Type SVR, the 2021 F-Type R produces 575 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque, an increase of 24 and 14, respectively. It's then a massive drop to the two engines below, which says more about the R than the unchanged but still amply endowed other F-Types.  The base P300 (gray car in the gallery above) is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 296 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, while the R-Dynamic P380 and its 3.0-liter supercharged V6 produces 380 hp and 339 lb-ft of torque.
