2002 Infiniti Q45 - Infiniti's top of the line flagship Super Sedan.

Pearl White w/Tan Leather Interior.   340 HP V8.

This Q45 cost approx. $50,000 when it was new.  It just had a Major Service performed by Dick Smith Infiniti, including Oil & Filter Change,  New Battery, New Brakes, New Rotors,  Both Rocker Cover Gaskets Replaced, New Power Steering Belt,  New Fan & Alternator Belt,  and 4 Brand New Tires and a Front End Alignment.  Also has new Wiper Blades installed.   Window tinting at front doors, rear doors and rear window is 3M with medium smoke tinting with 20% light transmission.   The Infiniti Q45 has a steel timing chain rather than a timing belt.  It does not require servicing as do engines with rubber or kevlar timing belts, allowing the Q45 to perform reliably for a long, long time.

It has had 2 previous owners,  and has been in Miami,  Florida the entire time, until now.  Never been in snow or on salted roads.   Auto Check reports show incidents of light damage which were due to front & rear bumper scrapes.   The front and rear bumpers were professionally repaired and repainted.   The roof has been repainted due to clear coat peeling issues.   There has never been any frame, flood or hail damage.  The air bags have never been deployed.   This Infiniti Q45 drives straight and true with no shaking or shimmy.  There are no unusual engine or drivetrain noises.   Starts right up, drives smoothly.   AC & Heater functions work properly.   Radio & CD Changer (in Dash) work correctly and the BOSE Sound System delivers clean, pure music at all volumes.    The onboard trip computer displays correctly, showing instant and average MPG's,  fuel remaining, distance to empty, etc.    I cannot describe it in "like new" condition, but it is an excellent and reliable driving car in above average condition for its age and mileage.  There are a few touched up spots in the paint and a few minor door dings, but these cosmetic issues are minor and you have to look to notice them.

The interior is extra clean and in very good condition.  Ashtrays and lighter reveals that this car has not been smoked in, and there are no unusual odors inside either.  The leather seating surfaces show little signs of wear and tear.   The carpet mats look like new in both front footwells and at the rear floor also.

The windshield is free of cracks, stars or repairs.  The window tinting is in perfect condition at all doors and windows and also at the rear window.  This Infiniti Q45 looks like an expensive, good-looking car.   The Pearl White Paint and Tan Leather interior colors are are the most desireable combination for a sedan.  You will be proud to own it and very pleased with the  quality of fit and finish and high performance and luxury levels that this Q45 provides.

Infiniti QX Monograph Concept debuts at Pebble Beach looking large

Thu, Aug 17 2023

The Infiniti QX Monograph Concept is here, and it sure presents like a veiled look at the next Infiniti QX80 SUV to us. Now, Infiniti didn’t make any allusions to the QX80 in its announcement at Pebble Beach, but the full-size dimensions and general shape tell us pretty much everything we need to know. This reveal is also a continuation of InfinitiÂ’s “Monograph” line of concept cars with the most recent one being the QX60 Monograph. That concept previewed what would become the production QX60, suggesting that this next Monograph concept will do the same for the larger QX80. As for the details of this particular design concept, Infiniti went into great detail about all its elements. Starting up front, the grille is meant to evoke a bamboo forest with its gentle arcing lines surrounding the new Infiniti logo. Meanwhile, the black finish and surround hint at the power found behind it — Infiniti didnÂ’t say what this concept is powered by, but we fully expect the next QX80 to have a gasoline engine situated under the hood. Flanking the grille are the lights that Infiniti says feature its “digital piano key” design and both “welcome” and “farewell” animation sequences. Since the headlights and DRLs are separated, Infiniti went ahead with that intricate “piano key” look for the DRLs to create a distinct signature. They wrap from the grille to around the side of the front bumper in an attempt to emphasize the width and height of the QX Monograph. You really get a sense of the QX MonographÂ’s size from its side profile. It has a vast monotone greenhouse that visually separates itself from the body by being painted entirely in black. The minimalist styling Infiniti says it used for this vehicle is best seen from this angle. It has electric door handles that pop in and out to create an uninterrupted look all the way down the side of the SUV. Meanwhile, the massive wheels bring some visual pizazz to the whole package. TheyÂ’re machine-finished wheels with both black and red accents arcing through, and Infiniti says its design inspiration for them was wind turbines. And on the topic of paint, Infiniti says it developed a new hue called Akane for this concept. ItÂ’s difficult to tell in photos, but the six-layer paint glows in the sun in an attempt to mimic “a warm glowing red sunset as it transitions into a dark night sky.” Of course, in most conditions, itÂ’ll likely just look gray.

Infiniti SUV recall marks latest chapter in Takata airbag saga

Fri, 31 Oct 2014

Automotive parts maker Takata is having a rough year with millions of vehicles equipped with its airbag inflators being recalled. However, it looks like there might still be problems with the company's quality control, if a new recall by Infiniti is any indication.
The Japanese luxury brand is recalling 1,912 total units of the 2013 Infiniti QX56 and 2014 QX80 in North America because of a manufacturing flaw with their Takata-supplied inflators for the driver's side front airbag. Of those, 1,848 are in the United States, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Specifically, the outer baffle could be the wrong component and cause too much pressure to build up inside. According to documents submitted to NHTSA, it's possible in a crash for the part to rupture spraying metal shrapnel at occupants. At this time, Infiniti has not had any reports of this actually happening to drivers.
While this problem sounds nearly identical to the issue affecting millions of earlier vehicles, it must be noted that this is a different fault. According to the notice being sent to dealers on NHTSA's website: "This particular Voluntary Safety Recall Campaign is unrelated to two earlier campaigns that involved Takata passenger front air bag inflators on some older model Infiniti vehicles. This issue involves a much newer inflator and is a different, more isolated, Takata quality control issue."

800k car names trademarked globally, suddenly alphanumerics seem reasonable

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

What's in a name? This cliched phrase probably gets tossed out at every marketing meeting that happens when a new car gets its nomenclature. We know the answer, though: everything. The name of a car has all the potential to make or break it with fickle customers that are more conscious than ever about what their purchases say about them.
That's giving headaches to marketing folks across the automotive industry. "It's tough. In 1985 there were about 75,000 names trademarked in the automotive space. Today there are 800,000," Chevrolet's head of marketing, Russ Clark, told Automotive News. Infiniti's president, Johan de Nysschen, echoed Clark's sentiment, saying, "The truth of the matter is, across the world, there is hardly a name or a letter that hasn't already been claimed by one car manufacturer or another. You can go through the alphabet - A, B, C and so forth - and you will quickly see that almost all available letters are taken."
What has that left automakers to do? Get creative. In the case of Infiniti, it made the controversial move to bring all of its cars' names into a new scheme, classifying them as Q#0 for cars and QX#0 for SUVs and crossovers. So the Infiniti G, which was available as the G25 and G37, is now the Q50. The FX37 and FX50 are now the QX70.
