Hello, Thanks for looking at my 95 H1. As you probably already know, AM General stopped making Hummer H1s. 1995 is my personal favorite year for the H1 line. It's the largest production year so it should in theory have the most readily available parts. Also it's the last year of the non computer engine. So it's simpler. The 1995 year doesn't have problems with the number 8 cylinder. Doesn't have the anti-lock brakes. All around it's the last of the easier, simpler designed hummer. The thing that a stock 95 wouldn’t have was a good a/c. That’s why I had installed a brand new original Hummer HVAC, model 97.5 that I bought from Blue Hummer and had it professionally installed (cost me $5K). This works great. This Hummer runs great, starts good, no problems. I bought it in December 2010 when it had 65,800 miles and it now has 68,400 miles (so I drove 2,600 miles in ~3 years). I just don't drive it enough to justify storing it – besides that, my son is going to college so I now need the money:

* Well maintained
* Low Miles
* New HVAC professionally installed
* Fantastic sounding stereo with brand new (installed Dec 2012) Jensen Phase Linear in-dash DVD CD MP3 GPS WMA Multimedia Player / Receiver with a 7” Flip-Out LCD Touch Screen. Subwoofer included.
* I-Pod holder
* GPS (brand new, installed Dec 2012)
* Flat Black (original color was Green)
* Awesome 38x15.50x20 Nitto Mud Grapplers (mounted on 20 inch XD ROCK STAR WHEELS - $250 each wheel and $400 each tire to a total of U$2,600 for whole set!)
* Back up Camera
* Tow Package
* Dark Tint (installed in 2012)
* Momo (Italian) steering wheel installed in mid 2012
* New H1 mats
* Fire extinguisher added (Hummers come without one from factory!)
* Alarm installed Dec 2012
* Remote door opener
* Custom Inside
* Comes with Owners Manual
* Will drive anywhere

This H1 is awesome. The pictures will not do it any justice. When you see it in person you'll be overwhelmed.
A H1 is really a thing of beauty and engineering. If you do not want to be noticed this is NOT the vehicle for you! It turns heads wherever you go, people will stare and point and come up and want to talk to you about it... and is sure to increase in value, as H1's had very limited production for the civilian model. I've owned the truck for the past 3.5 years and have kept it very well maintained; it's running perfect. The brakes are new, the tires are new, the engine runs great, transmission is perfect, interior is nice, exterior is good for a 18 year old off road truck. I have never been off-road but I know previous owner did - responsibly. There are a couple of things to report:  there is a cigarette burn in the passenger seat (I don’t smoke and the car has no smell at all). It's about the width of a ball point pen tip. The interior of this truck is roughly the size of a suburban so that leaves about 99% of the interior good. The exterior is not perfect; it has some dings, scuffs, and a small rust spot under the rear side windows. The truck is flat black so fixing these scuffs would not be that hard (local body shop estimates $4K for complete exterior body paint). Overall the truck is a nice one. Doesn't have any needs, unless you feel the need to fix the paint. Thanks for making it to the end of my description. E-mail me with any extra questions. And please, serious bidders only, that is, bid only if you truly have the intention to buy this truck - if you don't, I'd appreciate it if you don’t bid.
Note: I reserve the right to remove this listing once truck is also for sale in a local shop. This vehicle is being sold AS IS and where is, no warranty. Buyer responsible for shipping or any other costs. If you have any questions please contact me prior to bidding. As always, I encourage inspection prior to sale. A Paypal deposit of $500 is required at time of sale with balance due within 7 days. Thanks for looking!

AM General's new CEO has strong military roots

Fri, Dec 11 2015

AM General has a new president and chief executive officer. Current CEO Charlie Hall is retiring from the company. In his place, the defense and automotive manufacturer has named industry veteran Andy Hove. Though primarily a defense contractor, AM General has produced a number of civilian vehicles as well. The company is perhaps best known for the Hummer (or Humvee in military parlance) and continued producing both the original H1 and the subsequent H2 after selling the brand to General Motors. Even after GM shut down the brand, AM General continued producing Humvees for military use and as a civilian kit. The company is also behind Mobility Ventures, which produces purpose-built wheelchair-accessible vehicles, assembles the R-Class for Mercedes-Benz, and has been linked to potential commercial van and pickup truck assembly for GM as well. Based in South Bend, IN, AM General shares its roots with the Jeep brand. It was split off from American Motors Corporation after the latter was bought by Renault and then by Chrysler. Today it's owned by New York-based investment firms Renco Group and MacAndrews & Forbes. A former Army officer, Hove arrives at the company with considerable experience in the defense industry, particularly in vehicle manufacturing. He has previously served as president of HDT Global and before that of Oshkosh Defense. Prior to that he headed up the Bradley tank program for BAE Systems, where he increased sales from $250 million to $2 billion within five years. His departing predecessor Charlie Hall was named CEO in 2011, assuming day-to-day responsibility for the company's operations from the suitably named chairman James Armour. Hove brings to AM General a track record of excellence at a diverse array of defense and commercial companies in the United States and around the world. Hove most recently served as the President and CEO of HDT Global where he rapidly proved the quality of his leadership in helping transform the company.

Cadillac CT6 production ceases January 2020 as part of D-Ham layoffs

Fri, Dec 6 2019

General Motors filed paperwork under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act with Michigan's Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity this week, detailing events to come at the automaker's Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Plant. Starting February 28, 814 salaried and hourly workers at D-Ham, as its called, will be laid off. The 753 workers represented by the UAW will begin receiving offers in January to relocate to facilities in Michigan and Ohio, or buyout offers. As the 4-million-square-foot plant winds down through April 3 to a skeleton crew, the Cadillac CT6 ceases production in January 2020, and the last Chevrolet Impala comes off the line on February 28. The loss of the CT6 represents the end of Cadillac's latest brief, and highly regarded, adventure into flagship sedans. It might also mean the end of the 4.2-liter Blackwing twin-turbo V8 engine, at least for the moment. Both casualties are calamities. The death of the Impala closes the door on a nameplate in production for 52 years since 1957, having started off as a top-tier trim for the 1958 Bel Air known as the Bel Air Impala, once advertised with the line, "Lets you know you're the boss." As part of the new four-year labor agreement with the UAW, GM is keeping D-Ham open to build a new line of battery-electric vehicles, ultimately investing $3 billion and tripling employment to 2,225 workers when fully operational. The agreement described the coming EV as a "van" that would commence production in late 2021, but various reports say what's actually coming is a range of premium EVs in pickup and SUV bodystyles under the program codename BT1. The easy predictions put an electric GMC Sierra and Cadillac Escalade among the EV fold, but not until 2023, according to auto industry forecaster LMC Automotive. Before that, LMC claims an electric van will debut in late 2021, along with a battery-powered rebirth of the Hummer brand in pickup and SUV forms, also in late 2021.

2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV Edition 1 back on the market after charity auction

Mon, Feb 27 2023

The charity auctions at this year's Barrett-Jackson event in Arizona pulled in the usual millions for good causes. Nevertheless, there were no shocking result among the sales like the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette VIN 001 that hammered for $3.7 million in 2022 or the 2022 GMC Hummer EV pickup VIN 001 that hammered for $2.5 million in 2021. In fact, the best result for hammer prices this year was a GMC Hummer EV SUV VIN001 that brought in $500,000, quite a ways down on its bedded sibling. Seems the purchaser decided a little bit of battery-electric arbitrage might be the play, because the SUV is going back up for sale. As caught by CarBuzz, a new member to the Hummer Chat forum started a thread, "Barrett Jackson VIN #1 SUV available." According to the poster who calls himself Bill, "Tread Lightly, the charity organization that the funds went to, aligns well with our company and we were excited to participate with them, however, the Hummer should go to a true enthusiast or collector." The post says Barrett-Jackson "is interested in" putting the Hummer in front of audiences at the Palm Beach auction event April 13-15 or at the Vegas event June 22-24. The vehicle's apparently been built and will be titled in Arizona. It's a loaded Edition 1 in Moonshot Green Matte with a Lunar Shadow interior and three motors making roughly 830 horsepower. There are transparent sky panels that open to create the open-air "Infinity Roof," 14-speaker Bose audio, Super Cruise, Crab Walk and Watts to Freedom mode. Naturally, the seller is willing to part with this bit of history before April and at first said he is ready to "consider a reasonable offer for the vehicle." We're not sure if that means more than $500,000. If so, and without the charity component — the reason these vehicles bring in so much money so often — we suspect such an asking price would be a tough draw. A look at Cars & Bids results for GMC Hummer EV pickups in Edition 1 trim shows prices that regularly surpassed $200,000 last summer are now down to around $160,000. However, two posts later, Bill says his company is "open to all offers."  The Hummer EV SUV Edition 1 retail version will reach begin reaching owners by the end of Q1 this year, which isn't far away. It cost $105,595 when it could be reserved.
