1979 Gmc Sierra Classic 1500 4x4 Short Bed Lifted on 2040-cars
Millville, New Jersey, United States
I have for sale my 1979 GMC Sierra Classic pick-up 4x4 short bed with its original 6.6 liter 400 small block engine and automatic transmission and both front and rear differentials. The truck was bought brand new here in Millville NJ at Paul Harris GMC and stayed in Millville to this day. I bought the truck a couple of years ago from the original owner. It has never been off road or abused and has always been adult owned and well maintained. Here is a list of the factory options; tinted glass, sliding rear window, intermittent wipers, bed rails, locking rear differential, 3.40 axle ratio, 6.6l 400 CID engine, automatic transmission, inside hood release, chrome grill, deluxe front bumper, chrome rear step bumper, front tow hooks, sierra classic, special two tone paint dark brown metallic and neutral. I had the transmission rebuilt about a year ago. The truck has a 6" rancho lift with 39" mickey thompson tires on mickey thompson 10" aluminum rims. The truck has many new parts replaced such as; new gas tank and sending unit, rear emergency brake cables, transmission rebuilt, front brake calipers, brakes, brake lines, master cylinder, new fluid in front and rear axles, cloth seat, carpet, and headliner. I was told the heads were rebuilt at 100k miles. It has dual exhaust with catalytic converters. The motor runs very well. As you can see the truck is in excellent condition. Over the years the truck has been repainted and had rust repaired, rocker panels, cab corners, and cab mounts. The body and paint looks great with a couple flaws expected for a truck 35 years old. All chrome moldings are in great shape, interior is in great shape also. The truck has 152k original miles. The lift and tires have only been on the truck about a year and only 500 miles on them. I have a ton of money in the truck but have other interests so this truck has to be sold. Look at the pictures and ask questions and you can decide, if you have any questions call (856) 332-2342 or email. Serious buyers only, I am very busy. Thanks and good luck.

GM tinkering with Silverado, Sierra model mix amidst strong early sales
Mon, 04 Nov 2013Variety, as they say, is the spice of life. That's a lesson that is currently being taught to General Motors, because despite a strong showing from its 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, the General's pickup sales still can't best those of cross-town rival Ford.
With 59,163 trucks moved, GM fell just over 1,000 units short of toppling Ford, and one of the main reasons for that, according to GM's chief sales analyst, was due to a lack of variety in the engines and body styles available on dealer lots. "We are still over-weighted toward crew-cab V8 trucks. Our light-duty mix will moderate over time as our launch progresses," said Kurt McNeil.
Loading dealers with the popular combination of the 5.3-liter V8 and the four-door, Crew Cab body style was intentional during the truck's launch, but as supplies of leftover 2013 models, which are being sold at heavy incentives, are beginning to wane, both budget-conscious and high-dollar buyers are looking elsewhere instead of at the volume model pickups.
GMC SIerra Denali is ready to live the high life
Wed, 29 May 2013Between the information for the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado High Country and the accidently leaked picture on GMC's consumer site, it didn't take much imagination to envision what the 2014 GMC Sierra Denali would be like. But here it is. Going on sale this fall, the 2014 Sierra Denali will continue to be the most luxurious pickup truck in the General Motors portfolio, while getting more power and technology than ever before.
Like previous models, the 2014 Sierra Denali stands out from lower Sierra models with a big cheese-grater chrome grille, 20-inch chrome wheels and body-color bumpers. Inside, the Denali gets plenty of leather with contrasting stitching, but this is where GMC really steps up from the Silverado High Country with real aluminum trim and a new customizable eight-inch driver display in the gauge cluster. Standard features will include heated and cooled front bucket seats, the Intellilink infotainment system with Bose audio, while the options list offers a Driver Alert Package (with forward collision alert and lane departure warning), a rear-seat entertainment system and a Z71 Off-Road Package.
As for power, the standard engine will be the 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8 with its 355 horsepower, and the optional engine will be the new 6.2-liter V8. Although official power figures for the bigger engine aren't in yet, GM is finally putting some estimates on paper expecting around 420 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque to go with a 12,000-pound towing capacity. The new Sierra Denali will be available in either two- or four-wheel drive. Scroll down for more details listed in the official press release.
Junkyard Gem: 1973 GMC Sierra Grande Camper Special
Sun, Jan 23 2022Starting in the 1973 model year, General Motors introduced the "Rounded Line" family of C/K-series Chevrolet and GMC trucks, and sales of the pickup versions continued all the way through 1987. Nice examples of these trucks can sell for large money, but the junkyard teaches us that not all collectible vehicles are worth rescuing and fixing up. Here's a reinforcement of that lesson, courtesy of a first-year GMC C2500 Camper Special with the high-zoot Sierra Grande trim level, found in a self-service yard just outside of Denver, Colorado. I'm no GM truck expert, but I know enough to stay clear of the battles over what to call this pickup. Let's just say it's a three-quarter-ton, rear-wheel-drive third-gen C-Series with really cool badges. Yes, I bought this badge for my garage wall, and it was totally worth the $4.23. GM came up with the Camper Special package during the late 1960s, when removable pickup campers became popular, and for 1973 it included heavy-duty springs and a wiring harness made to plug into the connectors on slide-in truck campers. It also included woodsy-looking badges, but someone pried the ones off this truck before I could buy them. This may well have been a one-owner truck, because it still had original warranty paperwork inside. Here we see that it was purchased new on August 2, 1973 (which happens to be the day that George Brett got his very first hit in the big leagues) by a resident of Compton, California. Yes, that Compton. The build tag tells us that this Camper Special was born at the Fremont Assembly plant in California, which became the GM-Toyota NUMMI venture in 1984 and is now the Tesla Factory. I think most 1973 C/K pickups sold new in Colorado would have come from Pontiac Assembly in Michigan. There was a time, not many years ago, when a genuine 454-cubic-inch (that's 7.4 liters to those of you sweating under the oppressive weight of the French Empire's Measurement System) big-block Chevrolet engine would have been yanked out and purchased within hours of hitting the rows of a yard like this. These days, engine-swappers can get more power with less weight from any number of donor vehicles. If this engine is the original 454, it was rated at 240 horsepower and 355 pound-feet (down from 270 hp in 1972 due to emissions-related changes). This truck had a three-speed automatic transmission, like most optioned-up Detroit pickups of its era.
