Professionally maintained and cared for since New

As close to new as these trucks get

Being offered is a Full Size GMC Jimmy that is in a shape that is nearly impossible to find.  This truck was part of a company fleet that was cared for and maintained by the mechanic who bought it and kept it until we just purchased it.  This was a truck that this person maintained knowing some day he would buy it.  This truck has been driven only several hundreds of miles a year since the early nineties when most of the miles were put on it.  The truck is one of those that makes you wonder how it was kept so nice.  This truck has never been off the road.  There are not many of these trucks out there where you can say that everything works, at this time everything works on this truck as it should.  Please do not hesitate to call me with any questions about this awesome truck, Tom 513 608-8121.

Exterior Highlights:  The exterior of the truck is unbelievable, the body is laser straight with no rust ever, the truck had a factory repaint early in it’s life due to original paint quality issues, the paint on the truck now is like new.  The truck is outfitted with it’s original rims and like new tires with less than 2,000 miles on them, they really compliment the exterior and give the truck a great stance.  This truck is loaded with options, see the list at the end of this listing, including the cozy wing type windows on the removable top, this truck looks amazing with the top on or off.  All exterior hardware and chrome are in excellent shape.  This truck gets attention wherever it goes because you just don’t see them in this kind of shape.  This truck is absolutely excellent from top to bottom and front to back.

Interior Highlights:  The interior of the truck as can be seen in the pictures is really like new and is very comfortable and practical.  The bucket seats feature like new gray fabric and are super comfortable with adjustable backs. The truck has a huge center console with cup holders.  The driver seat is in excellent shape and the passenger and rear seat have rarely ever had anyone sit in them.  The interior is loaded with options including power windows, power locks, cruise control, tilt column, AM/FM radio with cassette player and cold blowing A/C.  There are numerous other options listed below, and the amazing thing is that everything works.  If you have any questions about this unique vehicle please give me a call at 513 608-8121.  As the pictures show the interior is in excellent condition.

Mechanical Highlights:  Mechanically this truck is 100% and equipped just the way you would want one.  The truck has a very clean engine compartment housing the original 350 Chevrolet V8 motor that starts and runs like it did new.  The vehicle is equipped with 4 wheel drive that works perfectly.  The vehicle is equipped with it’s original automatic transmission with overdrive.  The brakes on the truck are powered with front disk and work perfectly.    As is the rest of the truck, mechanically this truck is nearly perfect.  This vehicle starts, runs, drives, and stops without any issues.

GM seeks national mandate for zero-emissions cars

Fri, Oct 26 2018

DETROIT — General Motors says it will ask the federal government for one national gas mileage standard, including a requirement that a percentage of auto companies' sales be zero-emissions vehicles. Mark Reuss, GM's executive vice president of product development, said the company will propose that a certain percentage of nationwide sales be made up of vehicles that run on electricity or hydrogen fuel cells. GM says a nationwide program modeled on such a requirement in California could result in 7 million electric vehicles, or EVs, on U.S. roads by 2030. California wants 15.4 percent of vehicle sales by 2025 to be EVs or other zero emission vehicles. Nine other states, including Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York, have adopted those requirements. In January, California Governor Jerry Brown set a target of 5 million zero-emission vehicles in California by 2030. The Trump administration criticizes California's ZEV mandate, saying it requires automakers to spend tens of billions of dollars developing vehicles that most consumers do not want, only to sell them at a loss. Reuss told reporters that governments and industries in Asia and Europe "are working together to enact policies now to hasten the shift to an all-electric future. It's very simple: America has the opportunity to lead in the technologies of the future." A national mandate also would create jobs and reduce fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and "make EVs more affordable," Reuss added. GM, the nation's largest automaker, will spell out the request Friday in written comments on a Trump administration proposal to roll back Obama-era fuel economy and emissions standards, freezing them at 2020 levels instead of gradually making them tougher. Under a regulation finalized by the Environmental Protection Agency at the end of the Obama administration, the fleet of new automobiles would have to get 36 miles per gallon by 2025, 10 mpg higher than the current requirement. But the Trump administration's preferred plan is to freeze the standards starting in 2021. Administration officials say waiving the tougher fuel efficiency requirements would make vehicles more affordable, which would get safer cars into consumer hands more quickly. GM on Thursday said it doesn't support the freeze, but wants flexibility to deal with consumers' shift from cars to less-efficient SUVs and trucks.

GM Canada recalls 159,240 GMC and Chevy trucks for faulty defroster circuit

Fri, Jul 12 2019

General Motors is recalling more than 159,000 2014-2019 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup trucks in Canada due to a potential fire risk. GM says the rear defroster circuit could overheat on trucks optioned with the power-sliding rear window. Thus far, there is no word on the recall's relation to U.S. vehicles. The recall, found by Automotive News, was posted to Transport Canada on June 28, 2019 with manufacturer recall No. N192220470. Included in the 159,240 vehicles are the 2014-2018 Silverado 1500, the 2015-2019 Silverado HD, the 2014-2018 Silverado LD, the 2014-2018 Sierra 1500, the 2015-2019 Sierra HD, and the 2014-2018 Sierra LD. The notice says the rear defroster circuit, specifically on trucks with the power-sliding rear window, could overheat. Because of its placement, this excess heat could cause melting, smoking, or possibly fire, in the worst case scenario. As of now, there is no official word when GM will initiate the recall and there is no official fix detailed just yet. GM suggests that owners, who will be notified by mail if their vehicles are affected, take their trucks to a dealer to remove the rear window defroster fuse as a stop-gap.  Automotive News contacted GM to find out if the problem is also found in trucks sold in the United States, but no definitive statement was made, as the investigation is reportedly ongoing. We will update this space if American vehicles are found to be included in the problem.

GM crab walked the Hummer EV truck up and down Woodward this weekend

Mon, Aug 23 2021

Sometimes, manufacturers like to show off their fancy new wares at the Woodward Dream Cruise. It’s largely done through static showcases with big displays for the public to gawk at. However, GM did something a little different with its GMC Hummer EV truck this year. Instead of parking it at the Chevy and GM display area, it took to Woodward Avenue itself to show off the Hummer in pre-production form. Not only did GM drive the electric truck on the road in front of thousands, but it crab walked the whole way. This was our first time, and probably most of the publicÂ’s first time seeing the Hummer EV crab mode in person. Judging from the crowdÂ’s reaction (GM got its wish of everybody paying attention), folks are impressed, and maybe a bit confused at the HummerÂ’s sideways movements.  ItÂ’s a strange spectacle to see in person. At first, the truck appears as though itÂ’s sliding sideways on ice in a smooth, graceful slide. ThatÂ’s because even though the wheels are turned, the front of the truck is still pointing dead straight ahead. The GM employee behind the wheel of the prototype appeared to be moving forward at about 5-10 mph — it appears shockingly quick in person for the way this behemoth of a truck presents itself. The tech making it work is rather simple in concept. GM simply took existing rear-wheel steering technology, then amplified and modified it for this type of movement. Whereas most cars with rear-wheel steering max out at around 5 degrees of lock with the rear wheels, this Hummer can turn the wheels up to 10 degrees. Turn the wheel left or right in crab mode, and the Hummer moves diagonally down the street. If you use it for its intended purpose, crab mode is meant to help you navigate the Hummer through trails it might otherwise be too big to fit through using regular steering. In reality, we suspect most folks might use crab mode in the exact same fashion as GM did this past weekend: to impress people. And honestly, we canÂ’t blame them. It was a seriously cool sight to see. Crab mode in action: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings.
