Up for auction is my 65 T-Bird convertible, whice I owned for the last 25 plus years. Drove it to meets all around the NE, and to most local shows. Great road car, drives, and handles like an expensive new car. This Thunderbird has the original leather black seats, in good condition. Car has been repainted about 10 years ago, and in good, to fair condition. Has some minor scratchs, but no dents, nor rot. Bumpers are all original, with original chrome, no dents, or missing parts. All the rest of chrome is all in good condition. Has power windows, all working. Has a "swing away " streering wheel, allowing driver to enter, exit car easy. The convertible top is original, with no tears, etc. One pad for the top, whice is located inside of the car has a portion missing, but dose not hinder the woking of the top. The top is in working condition, all relays work, same for hyd cylinders. I replaced some of the hyd hoses, and did replace the top motor. Also, replaced the limit switch. I added a "tunic top", that covers the back seat, as seen in the picture. Has the 390 engine, with auto-trans. Since I had the car, I replaced the lifters, oil pump, water pump, and had tune ups done. Has new white wall tires. Has the original hub caps in good condition. The radio was replaced by preivous owner with a am/fm type. Same for the ant. This Thunderbird is a good example of a convertible, that will allow you to drive, and if it's your desire to do a restoration, you can drive it also. I did also add a passenger side Thunderbird mirror, whice I forgot to memtion. I'm selling off some of my cars due to age, and health, and this is the first being offered. Along with the car, go's all the parts that I aqquired over the time I had this car, as well as the used parts replaced. Will also add the repair manual. Please look over the pictures, and do ask questions before bidding. Good luck, and thanks for looking.

Ford Transit Skyliner Concept does discreet luxury in NYC
Thu, 17 Apr 2014There's something to be said for luxed-out vans. They're cool, and as a means of getting chauffeured about, they're extremely comfortable and far more low key than your typical executive luxury sedan. For the 2014 New York Auto Show, Galpin Auto Sports has shown the potential of the new-for-the-US Ford Transit as an ultra-luxurious people hauler.
The Transit Skyliner Concept, which we previewed last week, sports four finely crafted captain's buckets that can be moved into different formations based on need. Want to watch a movie? The seats can be swung around to face a 52-inch screen. Riding along with some business associates? A table can be popped up. There's even a configuration for tailgating.
The materials are, unsurprisingly, pretty plush. The leather seats and wood floors (yes, wood floors in a van) look great, while the trunk and its customized luggage are a nice touch, as well.
Ford Fiesta ST gets worked out on the track
Sun, 10 Mar 2013We're big fans of the turbocharged Ford Focus ST, and we're plenty excited that the Blue Oval will be offering a similar treatment on the smaller Fiesta here in the United States, too. We first saw the production-ready Fiesta ST five-door at the Los Angeles Auto Show last fall, and Ford has now released this video of a Euro-spec three-door ST being flung around the track.
But not just any track - the challenging Track 7 of Ford's Lommel Proving Grounds in Belgium. The course features 20 turns and plenty of elevation changes along its 2.7-mile loop, and David Put, a vehicle dynamic specialist at Ford, shows just how good the pint-sized Fiesta ST is at handling the lot, even getting the smallest ST up on three wheels every now and then.
It sure does look like a lot of fun, and makes us really eager for our chance to try this ourselves. Scroll down to see the hot little Ford getting busy.
Shelby GT350R offers first mass-produced carbon fiber wheels
Fri, Jul 10 2015In the world of race engineering, reducing total weight is good, but reducing unsprung weight is flippin' fantastic. That's the reason Ford is pushing the envelope in terms of technology for the Shelby GT350R's wheels. Joining the likes of Koenigsegg in the offering, Ford has teamed with Australian outfit Carbon Revolution to produce the CF rollers en masse for the first time. Destined for the hubs of the new Shelby GT350R, the new hoops weigh just 18 pounds each, versus the 33-lbs weight of a similar aluminum wheel. On top of slashing up to 60 pounds in unsprung weight, there's such a reduction in rotational inertia – 40 percent, versus aluminum wheels – that Ford actually has to recalibrate the magnetic ride control system and springs. Thanks to, we're guessing, scenes of crashed Formula One cars disintegrating and spewing shards of carbon fiber all over the track, Ford seems quite keen to do away with the idea that CF is strong, but brittle. The company conducted extensive shock testing, ramming a wheel into a curb at speed. According to the Blue Oval, the lightweight wheel allowed the suspension to respond so quickly that the impact was "greatly diminished," causing the tester to run the experiment again, thinking there'd been a mistake. After recording brake rotor temperatures of 900 degrees Celsius (over 1,650 degrees Fahrenheit, or well past the point that aluminum or magnesium would melt) during testing, Ford and Carbon Revolution actually redesigned the wheels to "a thermal standard more suitable for motorsports," by adding an "incredibly thin, nearly diamond-hard coating that reliably shields the resin from heat." The same process was used to protect engine turbine blades on the Space Shuttle. While the work by Ford and Carbon Revolution should make GT350R customers excited, the work being done here could have serious implications for performance cars in the future. That's the real takeaway here, and is something that should leave fans of all performance vehicles excited.
