CONTACT JEFF AT 570 977 0741.  Up for sale and your consideration is a really nice 1960 Ford Thunderbird two door hardtop that can be enjoyed and admired from the day of purchase. Please take the time to look over all 24 photos that I have here on the auction. I have even put this car up on a lift to photo the undercarriage of the car to show the solid integrity of it. I have many more photos available should any prospective buyer want them. Just call me and ask for them. This Thunderbird is in turn key and drive home and enjoy immediately condition. It is not professionally restored, but has had many items either rebuilt or replaced recently and they are as follows: Engine, Transmission, Motor Mounts, Transmission Cooling Lines, Brakes, Wheel Cylinders, Radiator, Fuel Pump, Generator, Regulator, Springs, Ball Joints, Tie Rod Ends, A-Frame Bushings, Stabilizer Links, Shock Absorbers, Exhaust System, Universal Joints, Padded Dash, seats recovered & trunk upholstered in black carpet. This T-Bird has just been completely serviced including fresh oil and oil filter change, new air filter, new gas filter, chassis lubrication, to have the car ready for the road to enjoy. An aftermarket AM/FM Cassette radio was installed and works but has very low volume. Original radio goes with the car. The horn, wipers, heater, headlights, taillights, stop lights, turn signals and interior lights all work. Back up lights don't work. All power windows work but the rear windows need some assistance going up and down due to the age. Remember this is a 54 year old car. The tires are Universal 8.00-14 wide whites. Front tread is good, rear tread is fair and spare is new and has never been on the road. Data plate reveals that the body is code 63A (Thunderbird Hardtop) Paint is Code A (Raven Black) Trim is 76 (Black & Grey) Transmission Code 4 (Cruise-O-Matic) Automatic & Rear Axle is Code 3 (3:10 to 1 Ratio) Y Code in the Vin# reveals that this Thunderbird was built at the Wixom, Michigan Plant on February 26th and was equipped with a 352 cubic inch engine with a 4-barrel carburetor. The engine and transmission are fresh rebuilt, however engine has C6MEA on the block side indicating it may be a 1966 Block. Transmission has a red tag on the side that reads 352-P9LAH. Please check out the picture of the engine under the valve cover. It is fresh and clean as also is the transmission.
This Thunderbird is priced fair and reasonable considering the amount of money invested in new and rebuilt parts. It is not professionally restored, nor is it an Arizona car, but for a northeast car, it is in great shape with only minor evidence of some rust issues having been addressed. It appears to have been undercoated when new saving it from serious rust. Remember this is a 54 year old car. It is being sold in AS-IS condition with no actual, expressed or implied warranty or guarantee of any kind. The day you buy the car it then becomes your car. There is no refunds or rebates. If any prospective buyer has any questions as to the integrity or condition of this car, then I encourage and welcome the opportunity and will be proud to show you this car in person by appointment before the auction ends. My summary and description of this car is based on a complete and thorough inspection, as well as servicing and driving the car, as well as conversation with the previous owner. I did not buy this car new back in 1960 so I can't give you a detailed history dating back to then. I can give you this detailed description based with lots of information on the car. The photos and feedback rating speak for themselves.
Please check my 100% positive feedback rating and buy with confidence.  I have accurately and honestly described this car to the best of my knowledge. Feel free to ask any and all questions on the car. I have a clean Pennsylvania title in hand for this car. The title does show actual mileage of 155,000.  There is no 6th digit on the speedometer to verify this statement of 155.  The speedometer shows 55,871.  I will let the buyer be the judge there. The condition and vast array of rebuilt and replaced parts especially the drivetrain is the huge selling point of this car. The title will be and must be properly transferred in to the new owners name by a licensed Pennsylvania notary. Terms of sale are as follows: The most accepted, preferred and encouraged method of payment is FUNDS IN HAND and a local pickup of the car. Again it is in turn key and drive home condition. Anything else will need to be discussed with me first. Funds in hand is the easiest way to complete the sale, and you leave with title and your car. I am not interested in any trades of any kind. If a buyer requests shipping it will be their financial responsibility. I will be happy to recommend previously used shippers. I will also be happy to reasonably assist in the appointment set-up, pick-up and loading of the car. Again to be crystal clear should any prospective buyer have any questions whatsoever as to the integrity or condition of this classic Thunderbird then I welcome and encourage the opportunity to show you this car in person by appointment before the auction ends to answer any questions that you may have.  My contact number is at the top and bottom of this ad to make it very easy for any prospective buyer to reach me at. So lastly any questions at all on this T-Bird please don't hesitate to CONTACT JEFF AT 570 977 0741. Thanks and good luck !

Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.

2023 Grand National Roadster Show Mega Photo Gallery | Hot rod heaven

Wed, Feb 8 2023

POMONA, Calif. — From an outsider's perspective, it would be easy to assume that the Grand National Roadster Show has always been a Southern California institution. After all, it celebrates the diverse postwar car culture of the region — hot rods, lead sleds, lowriders, and more. However, the show had its roots in NorCal in 1950 when Al Slonaker and his hot rod club showed their custom cars at the Oakland Expo. The GNRS moved to Pomona, California, in 2004. By then it had grown exponentially and seen about a dozen more car customization trends come and go. However, the show and its centerpiece award, the America's Most Beautiful Roadster prize, celebrate what is perhaps the first of those trends: the American hot rod in its purest form. Today, in its 73rd year, the GNRS is the oldest indoor car show in America. Annually it welcomes 500-800 cars, gathered into special themes like Tri-Five Chevys or Volkswagen Bugs. At this year's show, which was last weekend, a special hall was dedicated to pickup trucks built between 1948-98, including mini-trucks, groovy camper bed conversions, and resto-mods.  However, of all the vehicles presented, only nine are eligible for the America's Most Beautiful Roadster award. Winners get their names engraved on a 9-foot-tall perpetual trophy that was, according to The Ultimate Hot Rod Dictionary, the largest in the world when it debuted in 1950. Slonaker chose the word "roadster" initially because "hot rod" bore slightly negative outlaw connotations in 1950. Only American cars built before 1937 of certain body styles — roadsters, roadster pickups, phaetons, touring cars — are eligible, and they cannot have roll-down side windows.  Cars in the running for the cup cannot have been shown anywhere else before their debut at the GNRS.  Contestants for this accolade essentially build their cars to the a platonic ideal of a hot rod. This year the honors went to Jack Chisenhall of San Antonio, Texas, for his "Champ Deuce," a 1932 Ford Roadster. It's exactly what you picture when you think of a hot rod, but distilled to its absolute essence.  Other standouts included "Green Eyes," a two-tone green 1959 Chevy El Camino  with a heavily metal-flaked bed, "Blue Monday," a 1964 Buick Riviera lowrider, and a personal favorite, "Purple Reign," a purple and black 1951 Mercury. Cars may have started out as tools, but there aren't shows like this filled with custom refrigerators.

2015 Ford C-Max gets a corporate nose job [w/video]

Thu, 02 Oct 2014

Ford might not have the splashiest booth here at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, but the automaker is showing off quite a bit of hardware that will actually end up on roads across Europe. Parisians are no doubt tickled at getting to see the specifications of the Mustang tuned for The Continent (which has a revised suspension for European roads, and a few visual nips and tucks), in addition to the revised face of the family-friendly C-Max.
As you can see, C-Max styling has been revisited with a deft touch, grafting Ford's six-sided corporate grille on the nose, in place of the outgoing car's two-part affair. New headlights can also be found on the car's revised front fascia, though the rear end of the C-Max looks only slightly different than the current version.
Inside the cabin, Ford has consolidated controls and upped the ante in terms of material quality, with "black satin" and chrome details and more storage capacity, overall. Grocery-lugging moms and dads everywhere should appreciate the hands-free liftgate feature, as well.
