This 1959 Thunderbird is a rust free car that the original buyer in California owned for 40 years. Owner 2 was his daughter, in California, who owned it for 7 years. At that time the car had 92,000 miles. From there the car went to Washington State, West Virginia, and Kentucky. I have approximately $15,500 invested in this car. Selling due to health at a reduced price.

Rebuilt 352/300h.p. V8. Transmission professionally rebuilt in Aug. 2011 with 97,401 miles. New tires, gas tank and sending unit replaced in 2010. Car also had some new interior, but I am not sure what was replaced, maybe the carpet. Car was repainted a new color called Brandy wine and Colonial White. This color was only available on the Thunderbird. Also all new door moldings were replaced at that time. Also new leaf springs installed. New upper and lower ball joints, tie rod, rebuilt master cyl. New frt. And rear wheel cyl. Recent new brake shoes. Life time frt. End alignment by firestone. All fluids replaced. The list goes on. I replaced the quarter window seals that were brittle from age, and also the dome light lens. I can not think of any thing it needs mechanically. Engine is tight, runs smooth, no smoke at all. I have all paper work back to 1959, including all license plates, owners manual, original build sheet, window sticker, original bill of sale, and repair documents which probably exceed the price of the car. Car is original, rust free and still has original undercoating. bumpers are very presentable, side spears are excellent. Has Original glass. Car has P.S./ P.B. and power seat. Original AM radio and clock still work. This vehicle is being sold as is without warranty, The seller shall not be responsible for the correct description, Authenticity, or defects here in. EPA says fuel economy test for hybrids is accurate

The EPA says it stands behind its fuel economy test for hybrid vehicles following controversy about the testing process after Ford C-Max Hybrid customers and automotive journalists alike struggled to achieve 47 miles per gallon, the advertised mpg number, Automotive News reports. Ford responded to the issue almost two weeks ago by claiming that a 1970s-era EPA general label rule was responsible for the inaccurate mileage numbers, rerating the C-Max Hybrid's mpg numbers and offering customers rebates. Ford later said it didn't overstate the C-Max Hybrid's fuel economy and that it was surprised by the low numbers.
Ford technically didn't do anything wrong because it was following the general label rule, but agency regulator Christopher Grundler says the automaker was exploiting a loophole when it came up with the hybrid C-Max numbers, and that the testing process remains accurate. The general label rule allows vehicles that use the same engine and transmission and are in the same weight class to share fuel economy numbers, but it doesn't take into account other factors such as aerodynamic efficiency, which affects hybrids more drastically than non-hybrid vehicles. Ford originally used the Fusion Hybrid economy figures for the C-Max Hybrid and claimed the engineers didn't realize that its aerodynamic efficiency would affect fuel economy as much as it did.

Automakers tussle over owners of 'orphan' makes

When General Motors put down several of its brands in recent years, it also let loose thousands of brand-loyal customers who will eventually need another car.
R.L. Polk Associates estimates there are more than 18 million cars from 16 discontinued makes on the road today. Those "orphan owners" have sales-hungry competitors seeing dollar signs. GM is offering Saturn owners $1,000 cash toward a Chevy Cruze, Cadillac CTS or a GMC Acadia. Ford is giving its Mercury lease customers a chance to get out of their contracts with no early-termination penalty and offering to waive six remaining payments if they drive off in a Ford or Lincoln.
Edmunds.com research shows the efforts are paying off somewhat for GM, with 39 percent of Pontiac owners, 37 percent of Hummer owners and 31 percent of Saturn owners taking delivery of another GM-branded vehicle. But that leaves as much as 69 percent of owners going elsewhere. Ford, Honda and Toyota seem to be attracting many former GM owners.

As we recently discovered, there's something different about driving a police car. That's true whether you're talking about a modern Dodge Charger Pursuit or, yes, the legendary Ford Mustang SSP. Former Autoblog staffer and current Road and Track web editor Zach Bowman discovered this when he shanghaied a 2015 Mustang GT and made the trip to Nashville, TN to drive the very first Mustang SSP police car. The two-tone, V8-powered prototype was delivered into the welcoming arms of the California Highway Patrol back in 1981 for evaluation. Bowman chatted up cop-car aficionado Mike Strinich, the prototype's current owner, and managed to score some seat time in the car, which provided a unique interesting contrast to the SSP's 435-horsepower junior.
