Up for auction is an overall easy project car to complete. This is a 1966 Ford Ranchero that is all original. This Ranchero has it's original 289 V8,3 speed manual column shift transmission. This Ranchero is a 2 owner car that i purchased in 2004. The car has been just sitting in my yard for over 6 years. The odometer shows 32,947 miles and the man i purchased this truck from was from WV and swore the miles to be original. As good as the engine ran,i believe that the miles may really be correct. All of the drivetrain in this Ranchero is in very good condition, but has not been cranked in over 2 years or moved since 2004. The motor is free and will just need a tune up to get it back running great again. The original interior is still in overall good shape and the dash looks good and the horn ring on the car is the only upgrade and it is a NOS horn ring. The hubcaps are not the originals, but still look ok on it. The body is straight, but does have some rust in it,mainly the lower quarter panels, but i'm including 2 good useable original quarter sections that are cut much larger than needed. The tires are no good from sitting, but the original steel rims are ok. The gas tank was no good, but i'm including a good gas tank out of the other 66 Ranchero that i had cut the rear quarter setions out of. The front and rear original bumpers with all of the brackets are also included. The front grill is straight and nice as is all of the bed stainless. The tailgate is straight and also solid. There are a couple of small rust holes in the drivers side front fender and 1 small rust spot in the lower passenger side door. The floor pans may also need a little work or maybe replacing from sitting so long. Again, this is a project car,but it is all original and complete with everything to get it back on it's way to being a nice driver or show truck depending on the new owners attentions with it. This Ranchero will need to be trailered to your destination. I think i've covered most everything, but feel free to ask a question if you're interested in this 1966 Ford Ranchero.

1969 Ford Talladega GPT Special is a SEMA showstopper

Thu, 07 Nov 2013

Rad Rides by Troy has unleashed upon the SEMA crowds this custom 1969 Ford Torino Talladega GT Special, and it's a beauty. The car calls to mind the classic Holman Moody stock cars that circled NASCAR tracks in the late 1960's, driven by the likes of Mario Andretti, Dan Gurney and David Pearson, who won the Grand National title in both 1968 and '69 in a Ford Torino.
Even though it has plenty of stock-car influence, there's nothing retro about the car's design or powertrain, other than the fact that the engine is based on a Ford Boss 429 block. Fuel injection, aftermarket aluminum heads and a high-tech custom computer system combine to send 750 reliable ponies to the rear wheels through a Tremec five-speed manual transmission. Brakes measure 14-inches all around, with six-piston Wilwood calipers up front and four-piston units out back.
There's custom bodywork abound, painted in a two-tone Tennessee Whiskey Gold and Daytona Sand finish. Check out all the amazing details in the image gallery below, and scroll down to read all about it in designer Troy Trepanier's own words.

Leno chooses his top 10 Mustangs

Sat, 14 Jun 2014

He may be a few months late to the party, but in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Ford Mustang, Jay Leno has delivered a short video in which he runs down which of the Blue Oval's pony cars from the past 50 years are his favorites.
The list is pretty darn similar to our own, with some of the big names from the Mustang's half century making an appearance, while there are three or four cars here that we think you'll be pretty surprised by.
Take a look below for this short video from Jay Leno's Garage.

Shelby boosts production of 575-hp Raptor on early demand

Mon, 08 Apr 2013

Shelby American unveiled its all-new Shelby Raptor at the New York Auto Show last month, saying that it would build just 100 examples of its off-road bad boy, a pickup priced at $17,995 over the cost of the donor Ford F-150 SVT Raptor. But the Las Vegas outfit apparently underestimated just how popular the supercharged 575-horsepower 4x4 would actually be.
Strong early demand reportedly has Shelby singing a whole new tune, as the company is now saying it will build upwards of 500 units annually. While the increased production will likely make for at least 400 more happy owners, those who were on the original short list - possibly speculating on future values - might not be grinning as much. Needless to say, the company has assured everyone that each and every one of the modified Raptors will still be listed in the official Shelby registry.
Keep in mind that Ford isn't sitting idle on its trophy-truck-for-the-street, either. The company will reveal its own 2014 F-150 SVT Raptor Special Edition this month.
