1958 Ford Ranchero 6 Cyl 3 Spd Original Restored Daily Driver Pu 58 on 2040-cars
Three Forks, Montana, United States
|
Up for bid is an all original 1958 Ford Ranchero.
With less than 1,000 miles on the original motor that was rebuilt in late 2006.
Nothing except a tow bar pins that were added is modified from original. All the
brakes, steering, wiring and chassis
components were restored in 2006. Both front brake cylinders were rebuilt last month because one showed signs of leakage. The Holley one barrel carb was rebuilt this last June. And, is intact with the see thru float bowl. This car has a gorgeous interior restoration that was done in
2008. This rig has the 213cc 6 cylinder with a 3 speed manual transmission.
Originally bought new by Montana State University. And sold to us in 1969. It
sat inside until 2005 when we started getting it restored. Comes with a clear Montana title. I'm looking for a home that appreciates these ole classics.
This is the first of several cars that will be auctioned from this estate. It runs and drives great. Good tires and battery. This rig has been
driven just enough to keep it maintained over the years. We take it to a couple
local car shows every year. And, to church and the store once in a while. The odometer
shows 29,712 miles. We expect the
chassis actual miles may be closer to 129K. When this listing starts it will only be driven for test drives of potential owners until sold. Located in
southern Montana just off Interstate 90 on our ranch in Manhattan, Montana.
There's a major truck stop in Belgrade, MT. 59714 Just 3 miles from us. Always garaged and never wrecked or abused.
The body is very straight with all original panels. No fiberglass or
aftermarket replacement parts on this rig. All interested are encouraged to
take this Ranchero for a drive and view it up close. Crawl underneath and do
any checks necessary to insure the quality and integrity of this classic. Not perfect. But, not a rusted out bondo wagon either! Please feel free to ask any questions before
placing a bid. International bidders are welcomed and held to the same
guidelines and time frames as all bidders. For detailed questions I can be contacted
directly from 9AM to 10 PM PST.. Bill Rhodes (406) 595-5309 A $500 non- refundable deposit is required
within 5 days of auction end. Paypal and
many forms of payment accepted for the deposit. Remaining balance must be
satisfied within 14 days of auction end in any form accepted by Ebay policy
Except Paypal. Of course
this car can be driven to your destination if desired. We have installed
tow bar pins under the front bumper attached to the frame for pulling if winner
would prefer to pull it with a vehicle. Please note that is you decide to ship
this car that the winning bidder is responsible for all shipping costs. We can keep this
Ranchero stored in our locked and secure garage for up to 60 days free of
charge. Longer can be arranged if necessary. We can also drive it to the major
truck stop located on in Belgrade, MT.
59714. Since shipping can involve many
specifics. We always ask interested parties to contact and locate their own
shipper. I can refer you to a few reputable shipping companies located in the
U.S. that customers and I have used over the years. We also have an
international agent for overseas shipment estimates. Feel free to inquire. Here’s a chance to own a piece of history and witness a great example of American ingenuity that was entertained through the 1950’s well into the early 60’s. Many satisfied customers. Thanks for looking and GOOD LUCK! |

Ford pits Cobra Jet versus GRC Fiesta ST, worlds collide
Thu, 31 Oct 2013Racing takes on many forms in the automotive world. There are sanctioned events that are as varied and diverse as NASCAR, Formula One, Global Rallycross and drag racing, and to be good enough to win competitively in one discipline, you need to have a specialized vehicle. Or do you?
Ford decided to find out what would happen when its Global Rallycross Fiesta ST, driven by Tanner Foust, lined up against its Mustang Cobra Jet drag racer, driven by Roy Hill. In one lane, Tanner has just 2.0 liters of displacement to work with, while Roy has more than double that, at 5.0 liters. Evening the playing field a bit, Tanner has a massive turbocharger and all-wheel drive; Roy has to filter all his supercharged power through the rear wheels only.
So, who wins? We suggest you see for yourself in the press release and video below. And we're holding out hope that Tanner's challenge at the end results in another video from Ford Racing...
2016 Ford F-150 gets propane, CNG conversions
Tue, May 5 2015It's a complete mystery if a hybrid Ford F-150 will ever see showrooms, but for buyers looking for an alternative fueling method, Ford has an option ready. For the 2016 model year, the Blue Oval is offering a kit that converts the pickup's 5.0-liter V8 to run on compressed natural gas or propane. The package costs $315 and adds improved valves and valve seats to work with the gaseous fuels. From there, the F-150s go to an upfitter to install the actual fuel tanks, lines, and injectors. Ford estimates this costs $7,500 to $9,500, depending on how much CNG a buyer wants to carry. After the conversion, the tow rating remains the same as running on gasoline, and payload is only reduced by the weight of the system. Ford offered a CNG option on the last-gen F-150's 3.7-liter V6, and sales beat the automaker's forecasts. With the greater grunt available from the V8, the company is expecting the conversion to be even more popular on the new pickups. In times of high fuel prices, CNG models have been a way for fleets to reduce their costs. According to Ford, the average price of natural gas nationwide is $2.11, but it's as low as $1 in some areas. The US Energy Information Administration lists the average for regular gas at $2.57 and diesel at $2.81. Chevrolet and GMC also offer a CNG conversion option on some of their heavy-duty trucks, and Ram does, as well. 2016 F-150 WITH CLASS-EXCLUSIVE COMPRESSED NATURAL GAS, PROPANE CAPABILITY GROWS FORD'S ALTERNATIVE FUEL LEADERSHIP Responding to customer requests, 2016 Ford F-150 with the 5.0-liter V8 engine will offer a gaseous-fuel prep option, making it the only light-duty pickup capable of running on compressed natural gas or propane Ford has sold more than 57,000 vehicles prepped to run on clean, low-cost compressed natural gas and propane – seven times more than all other major U.S. automakers combined – since 2009 Ford has the broadest portfolio of natural gas and propane offerings, including 2016 F-150 and Super Duty trucks, and Transit and Transit Connect vans and wagons Ford Qualified Vehicle Modifiers offer a wide variety of CNG options to help customers find the best, most cost-effective solution to their diverse operating needs Ford, America's truck leader, will offer the 2016 F-150 with an available gaseous-fuel prep package that enables 5.0-liter V8-powered models to run on clean, low-cost compressed natural gas or propane, making Ford the only manufacturer of a CNG/propane-capable half-ton pickup.
