This is a Ford probe GT V-6 with DOHC. Five speed, gets 22 to 25 mpg depending on your foot. This car is a real treat to drive, has the power and stability to handle city, country or interstate driving. Has a working sunroof so you can really enjoy the drive. Has a brand new A/C system, new tires, and the brakes are in excellent condition. The transmission just had the clutch, pressure plate and throw-out bearing replaced as well. The 4 brand new tires are P225-55/R16, so it hugs the road fantastically. It also had the water pump, tensioner and timing chain replaced. Than to top it all off has a new battery. Had to replace one of the CV axles as well. So as you can see I have tried to keep this jewel in excellent running and working condition. You might ask why am I selling it, well getting old, and need back surgery, and have to sell some of my toys to pay for it. I take care of my toys, and refuse to sell a car not worthy of being on the road. The price on this care is non negotiable, even though I need the surgery, will only sell it if price is met. Henry Ford's great grandson turned 16 on December 27, 1964 - two days after Christmas and eight months after the original Mustang went on sale. And that's just what was waiting for him in the driveway, courtesy of his father (and reigning chief executive) Henry Ford II.
The specially-prepared pony car had a pearlescent cream paintjob with narrow blue racing stripes, functional hood scoop, chrome trim, Euro-spec fender-mounted mirrors, a blue leather and aluminum interior, a monogrammed fuel cap... and a 289-cubic-inch V8 under the hood.
Ford confirms 1.5-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine for 2014 Fusion
Thu, 11 Apr 2013Earlier this week, reports were swirling 'round the internet about the 2014 Ford Fusion getting a new 1.5-liter three-cylinder EcoBoost engine. That was... half correct. Ford today confirmed that the 2014 Fusion is, in fact, getting a new 1.5-liter EcoBoost mill, but it has four cylinders, not three.
The new 1.5-liter engine will be the fifth EcoBoost powerplant from Ford Motor Company. Initially to be built at the automaker's Craiova, Romania plant, it will also be offered in the Fusion's twin, the Mondeo, in other markets. This engine will debut at the Shanghai Motor Show next month, and the 1.5-liter is of particular importance in the Chinese market - there is significant tax relief in the People's Republic for vehicles powered by engines with a capacity of 1.5 liters or less.
At a media briefing Thursday, Ford declined to divulge exact power or fuel economy numbers, though Joe Bakaj, vice president of powertrain engineering, told Autoblog that power output should be similar to that of the current 1.6-liter inline-four, and that overall efficiency will be "better than the 1.6." Our earlier report stated that the 1.5-liter four will produce 177 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque - losses of 1 hp and 7 lb-ft versus the 1.6-liter engine. Ford states that the 1.5-liter four will feature many of the same technologies used on the company's 1.0-liter EcoBoost inline-three, including an integrated exhaust manifold that recaptures much of the engine's heat.
2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid recalled over lack of roof padding
Mon, 29 Jul 2013Ford is recalling 33,021 units of its 2013 C-Max Hybrid not equipped with optional panoramic roof panels. During testing, the model in question returned testing results for occupant head injuries that fell outside of criteria laid out in the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard. The issue puts occupants at greater risk of injury in the event of a crash if they are in an affected car.
The recall will begin August 19, at which time C-Max Hybrid owners can take their cars to dealers to have energy-absorbent material installed between the headliner and roof. The bulletin below from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has more information.
