Here is one of my personal favorites so far!! 1952 Ford F-6 fire truck that was in service in Tennessee and sold from the fire house to the individual I bought from in 2007. At this point the truck had a full restoration including all new interior, glass, weather stripping, seals , paint interior and exterior , all new chrome, etc. With only 6,112 original documented mileage this truck is in amazing condition with no rust ever. Original flathead v8 starts and runs on a dime every time with no cooling problems. Added electronic ignition, new water pumps, rebuilt radiator, and full tune up. Very well detailed under the hood. Since I have owned it I have installed a 1952 period correct 4 speed full synchronized transmission ( 4syn) for easier driving and also had the drive shaft rebuilt. It has a fully functional 2 speed split shift rear end. From there had the hard to find 19.5 wheels added to get rid of the old 2 piece wheels. I had a complete brake job done including wheel cylinders, shoes, lines, hoses, drums, hardware kit, e brake lining, power assist, master cylinder axle seals and more. This truck stops great!  All the fluids have been drained and filled. The truck has been completely rewired front to back with dual batteries installed. Full 12 volt battery conversion with battery isolator installed for running all the lights and etc.. Everything works on this truck mechanically and electronically. I have over 10,000 dollars in invoices for this truck that the previous owner had done between 2008 and 2009.  That does not even touch the amount I have done in the past year myself.  The two biggest things needed are the passenger side vent window needs replaced and the top of the driver side fender needs to be touched up where the paint has come off. The front lights on the bumpers are in perfect working condition I just have not wired them up completely yet. All the lights, siren, spots, etc.. all have been rewired and work great. I have never tried to pump water but its all complete and looks like it would work. All the gauges have been replaced for the pump (see pictures). The other added bonus is all the antique fire accessories that will come with the truck which is an easy 2,000 dollars worth of extras. I have collected enough parts from 3 trucks and planned on adding some of the accessories to this one. There is way to many parts to try to list here!!! Also have some of the original wheels, complete rebuilt set of brakes if ever needed, some extra 19.5 tires. When I bought the truck I towed it on a 20 foot heavy duty equipment trailer. Everything that comes with the truck should fit in the truck for easy hauling. This truck will also be for sale locally. Please email with any questions or to go over all the extra accessories.

This truck needs nothing mechanically its ready to go. No leaks !  I have done everything needed to make this truck usable while retaining the trucks original look.    You wont want to miss this one!!

Please ask all questions before bidding and only bid if you plan to pay.
1,000 deposit is due at the end of auction unless discussed previously.
Truck will be sold with Georgia state bill of sale only. Georgia does not and will not issue titles for classics of this age. I do have a photo copy of a title that was issued in 1991. And the truck still retains the Tennessee licence plate. If your state requires a title there are ways to get one.

GM takes 2020 full-size pickup sales crown

Thu, Jan 7 2021

It's no secret that 2020 was an unconventional year for auto sales. Extenuating circumstances or not, it was a year of upheaval even for ever-resilient (and ever-profitable) pickups, with General Motors taking the crown from Ford in the full-size segment.  The Ford F-Series still outsold every other full-size pickup nameplate in the country by a significant margin. It's only when you combine GM's Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra variants that you get a number that exceeds Ford's. This isn't really a new phenomenon, either. In fact, it was only somewhat recently that Ford took the overall full-size crown away from GM, and not only did Ford widen the gap in recent years, but Ram has once again become a legitimate challenger, even managing to outsell the Silverado by a healthy margin in 2019, but never coming close to the F-Series in terms of total volume.  But, 2020 being 2020, things got weird yet again. Ram remains relevant, of course, but Ford got caught with its pants down thanks to the one-two punch of COVID and the generational changeover of the core F-150 model, which resulted in a production interruption as the company's assembly facilities transitioned from building the old 2020 model to the new-for-2021. This perfect storm, as it turns out, was sufficient for GM to walk away with the full-size crown. See for yourself: Full-size 2020 pickup sales: GM total: 847,110 F-Series: 787,422 Silverado: 594,094 Ram: 563,676 Sierra: 253,016 Tundra: 109,203 Titan: 26,439 As you can see, Ram slipped back behind Silverado, slotting comfortably into third place. The Silverado 1500 had a flat year, but the heavy- and medium-duty variants bucked the trend and contributed to a slight uptick in sales for the nameplate, while F-Series tumbled more than 12% (nearly 110,000 units), opening the door for GM to steam ahead.  There were similarly significant shakeups in the midsize truck segment. First, 2020 was the first full year of retail sales for the Gladiator pickup, which surged to fourth place behind the stalwart Tacoma, Ranger and Colorado. GM's combined sales of the Colorado and Canyon are good enough for second place by manufacturer, but nowhere close to what it would take to dethrone Toyota.

FL man fatally shot after urging driver not to do donuts in a Mustang

Tue, 18 Nov 2014

Bradley Holt (pictured), the older half-brother of University of South Florida freshman quarterback Quinton Flowers, was killed in a random act of violence last week.
The 24-year-old Holt was throwing a football around with local kids in Allapattah, a neighborhood in Miami, when a yellow Mustang showed up and started doing donuts in the street. Holt, worried about kids playing in front his apartment complex, walked over to the driver and asked him why he was "driving so crazy with so many kids out here?"
The driver left. Holt's sister said the driver came back "about 15 to 20 minutes later" and fired two shots at Holt. One of them hit Holt in the back of the head, killing him.

Ford's Explorer-based Police Interceptor to get 365-hp EcoBoost option

Tue, 20 Aug 2013

Speeders beware, the police are going to be getting quite a bit faster. Ford has just announced that it will be offering its 3.5-liter, twin-turbocharged, EcoBoost V6 in the Explorer Police Interceptor. The new engine will be joining the existing 3.7-liter V6. The 365-horsepower, 350-pound-foot mill should be familiar to consumers as the powerplant that's found in the Ford Taurus SHO (and its LEO equivalent, the Taurus Police Interceptor) and the Ford Explorer Sport. It should also provide quite a kick in the pants to officers used to the naturally aspirated 3.7 and its 304 ponies and 279 pound-feet of torque.
The move to the more potent powerplant was born out of all the equipment officers need to carry on a day-to-day basis. These days, there's so much stuff that police need on a regular basis, that there's a genuine market for a faster Police Interceptor Utility, as it's known officially. The Explorer-based cruiser has already accounted for 68 percent of Ford's LEO sales in 2013, and that's with just the 3.7, and we'd only expect that number to increase once the twin-turbo, 3.5-liter V6 is available. Ford won't offer up any indication of what the take rate will be on the new engine, but we're guessing it'll be fairly high.
The success of the Explorer PI couldn't have come at a better time for Ford. The decision to end Crown Victoria production was not a popular one with police, and combined with Chevrolet and Dodge diving into the LEO market feet first, Ford hasn't been performing as well as it's wanted to. The Explorer has been helping it turn around, though. And with the inclusion of the EcoBoost, Ford also has a legit competitor for the Chevrolet Tahoe on the big utility side of the police market.
