Beautifully and professionally restored in California this 2-owner Deluxe model Ford pick up truck is in excellent condition and ready to drive, show and enjoy! Featured in American Rodder magazine, this limited production model (approximately 300 of the Deluxe models were made in 1936) was found after years of searching and brought back to better than new condition. There is no Bondo in this truck. It is all steel with exception of the fiberglass rear fenders and it is solid. The Paprika Red paint is subtle but striking, yet not an in-your-face "lipstick red." The unmodified body, with its teak wood bed, sits on a Rod Factory '36 Ford Frame with TCI front and rear suspension, and the undercarriage cleanliness matches the top (see pictures). A ZZ4, 350ci 355HP engine with 4bbl carb provides incredible power and acceleration through the 350 Turbo Automatic transmission and 9" Ford rear end. Front disc and rear drum brakes stop the truck quickly and safely. American Racing wheels with 195/60R15 tires in the front and 255/60/R15 in the rear provide a stable ride. The spare tire is located in the side mount on the passenger side. Rack and Pinion steering enhances the handling.
Where typically one would find oak as the bed material on this extraordinary truck you will find teak -- an expensive wood often used in marine applications because it withstands harsh environmental elements. The custom interior was crafted from five matching leather hides from the same supplier that Ferrari goes to for their leather. Soft, saddle color leather perfectly coordinates with the Paprika Red exterior and dash color. Leather extends to the headliner as well. Creature comforts include air conditioning, power windows, a Sony sound system, etc. The air conditioning controls are cleverly mounted behind the glove compartment door. The power window switches on the door panels appear to be manual cranks, but they are not. They actually control the windows electric motors. The dash is populated with custom gauges by Classic Instruments.
Build cost for this truck ran well into six figures. Unfortunately, ill health forced the sale of the truck by the person who had it restored. This beautiful truck can by yours for only a fraction of the dollars invested in it. If you have any questions please contact Alan either through eBay email or by phone at (703) 623-7378. This truck is also being advertised locally so we reserve the right to end the auction early if a local sale is effected.

2015 Ford Mustang potentially 'leaked' by Car and Driver
Mon, 28 Oct 2013Few upcoming debuts have been as eagerly anticipated as the all-new Ford Mustang that's expected to debut shortly as the Mustang's 50th anniversary year approaches. Well, Car and Driver magazine would have us wait no longer as it claims to be leaking Ford's new global pony car early.
Of course what you're looking at is just as likely to be a composite rendering based on what C/D projects the new Mustang to look like, but to our eyes it looks spot on. Combining design traits from the Evos Concept with classic Mustang signatures and Ford's Aston-inspired grille treatment, C/D's images - including a complete 360-degree digital navigator - show a Mustang not only for the modern era, but also for global distribution, taking a quintessentially American car to markets its predecessors were never designed for.
Those global considerations are expected to spell the demise of the outgoing Mustang's holdout live rear axle in favor of an independent suspension, and a slight constricting of the exterior dimensions. And thanks to a separate leak, coming from a digital survey, we have apparent confirmation of what will power the new pony car. While the existing 3.7-liter V6 and 5.0-liter V8 engines will apparently carry over with only slight adjustments in output, the survey confirms a new 2.4-liter turbo four will be positioned in between them, offering slightly more power than the V6 but markedly improved fuel economy for a manageable $560 premium over base.
Jay Leno takes a Surfin' Safari in a 1937 Ford Woodie Restomod
Tue, 21 Oct 2014Woodie wagons were a major part of surfing culture in the 1960s, offering coastal style and a ton of room, and they even earned a mention in the Beach Boys' classic song Surfin' Safari. This week, Jay Leno's Garage takes a look at two modern, restomodded examples of these style icons.
Unlike a lot of restomods, builder Scott Bonowski keeps these wagons looking almost completely stock on the outside, and all of the upgrades are hidden underneath the timber. You can't tell by looking at it, but the '37 Woodie (pictured above) has independent front and rear suspension, disc brakes and a Ford 5.0-liter V8 under the hood.
Beyond the mechanical aspect, the craftsmanship into the wood is astounding. Bonowski claims there are between 30 and 50 coats of varnish on this wagon. It makes these woodies as much of a piece of fine furniture as a vehicle to drive.
Cars with the worst resale value in 2022
Thu, Nov 10 2022Car values are all over the map right now. Used vehicles that were worth a small fortune earlier this year are now coming back to Earth, but the new vehicle supply remains tight. Prices are still elevated overall, but some models have seen more severe price drops. Depreciation strikes almost every model, supply constraint or not, though a few vehicles are leading the way. New research from analytics iSeeCars found that a handful of cars depreciated more than 50 percent over five years, with the BMW 7 Series dropping 56.9 percent and an average price cut of $61,923 over that time. The vehicles with the highest depreciation — or worst resale value — over five years: BMW 7 Series: -56.9% Maserati Ghibli: -56.3% Jaguar XF: -54% Infiniti QX80: -52.6% Cadillac Escalade ESV: 52.3% Mercedes-Benz S-Class: 51.9% Lincoln Navigator: -51.9% Audi A6: -51.5% Volvo S90: -51.4% Ford Expedition: -50.7% iSeeCarsÂ’ research showed that midsize trucks, sports cars, and fuel-efficient vehicles were slowest to depreciate over five years, while itÂ’s clear that luxury brands tend to lose value much faster. As iSeeCarsÂ’ Executive Analyst Karl Brauer explained, used buyers donÂ’t value high-end vehiclesÂ’ features as much as the first owners, so resale values tend to be softer. The tech and options that made the cars so expensive and appealing new donÂ’t add the same value on the used market. Read more: Cars with the best resale value Interestingly, electric vehicles also depreciated quite heavily, though they were just short of the abysmal numbers in luxury segments. The Nissan Leaf depreciated most among EVs, dropping by 49.1 percent. The average EV depreciation is 44.2 percent, with the Tesla Model S and Model X sliding in right under the bar at 43.7 and 38.8 percent, respectively. As iSeeCars notes, itÂ’s important to be vigilant when car shopping and not let your emotions win over reason. Shiny new luxury cars look great in the showroom, but you could end up taking a bath when you try selling them a few years later on.
