2014 - Ford Mustang on 2040-cars
San Jose, California, United States
2014 Shelby GT500, black on black with stripe delete. It is fully loaded, Recaros, Nav, Track Pack, Performance Pack, Mach stereo. This is an amazing, if not the best vehicle Ford has built next to the Ford GT. The only thing is there are things Ford had to cut due to trying to keep the cost down. That is why I have custom built this one. This motor wants to breathe, so I installed a JLT carbon fiber intake, VMP 67mm throttle body, 2.40 supercharger pulley, and 90mm idler. Also, installed Redline Hood Struts. The SCT tune is for 91 and 100 octane. I am currently running VP MS109. Why not run engineered gas that is the one of the best. The biggest short coming out of the factory is the stock tires. So, I upgraded the wheels to 20x9 and 20x11, with 285 and 315 Nitto NT05. The front calipers have been painted Grabber Blue. The suspension definitely needed a few upgrades, BMR red double adjustable panhard bar and red lower control arms. I was asked by Eibach if I would be willing to allow them to use mine as the test vehicle for product development for the 2013/14 Shelbys. The vehicle is over 300 lbs lighter than the 2012 and that makes a big difference for the springs. They installed the Sportline springs and upgraded swaybars. I upgraded the axel-back exhaust with the Magnaflow Competition Series. The interior has the rear seat delete with crossbar custom painted Grabber Blue and a Grabber Blue shifter ball with the Billet Works adapter. The exterior I have custom painted the upper and lower grills, side mirrors, and rear spoiler Grabber Blue. The front splitter and side splitters have all been painted factory black. I bought this vehicle in March 2014 with 2500 miles and now has 2772, 100 of that was the drive to Eibach. I bought this as a collector and show car. Sadly, I am having to sell due to family issues. I have never tracked or raced it. I simply upgraded it because, hell, why not. This motor is amazing and with a few simple upgrades you can make it a happier beast. Prior to the 100 octane tune change it put down 676 at the wheels and with what I have researched it should now be over 700 rwhp. There is only one dyno near me and the owner is a complete dirt bag so I have not gone back. Included: the rear seats, a 5 gallon can of the VP109, stock throttle body and the tuner.

2016 Ford Explorer revealed with new 2.3-liter EcoBoost
Wed, 19 Nov 2014
A 2.3L EcoBoost four-cylinder takes over where the old 2.0 left off, making 270 hp and 300 lb-ft.
Right now, around 23 percent of all Ford vehicles sold in the United States is a utility vehicle. By 2020, Ford expects that figure to increase all the way to 29 percent. Put simply, SUVs and crossovers are very big business at Ford. So, when it comes time to update the Explorer, Ford's original sport utility vehicle, you can be sure that a whole heck of a lot of effort goes into the process.
2016 Ford Explorer embarks at the LA Auto Show
Wed, 29 Oct 2014Twenty-five years since its debut in 1990, Ford will celebrate a quarter century of Explorer models next year with the debut of a refreshed 2016 model at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show on November 19. The Blue Oval is keeping mum on hard details about the updated SUV for now, but the brand promises, "a new look, added capability and additional driver-assist technology," in its announcement.
Company marketing boss Jim Farley elaborated a little more on what to expect. "The new Explorer is still the SUV America fell in love with - a vehicle built for the perfect family adventure," he said in the release that you're welcome to read down below.
An updated Explorer is a pretty big deal for Ford's bottom line. Worldwide, SUVs and crossovers account for about 23 percent of Ford's sales, and the segment is projected to grow to around 29 percent by 2020. Ford further says that SUVs and CUVs are the world's quickest growing segment with demand up 88 percent since 2008.
Ford Australia debuts Ranger-based Everest SUV concept
Tue, 13 Aug 2013Ford has been in hot water in Australia ever since it announced plans to end local production of the Falcon and Territory SUV. Besides canceling a model that is to Oz what the Mustang is to America, the end of production means more than a few folks will be out of work.
Keen to prove that it has a plan for the market, Ford has unveiled the Aussie-penned Everest Concept, a rough-and-tumble, seven-seat SUV. While not a direct replacement for the aging Territory (that role will eventually be filled by either the Edge or Flex, according to Car Advice) it's an indication from Ford's brass that the Blue Oval is still committed to Australia.
To prove that fact, Alan Mullaly, Mark Fields, Jim Farley and regional execs descended on Sydney for the debut of the new concept. Ford's Australian president and CEO, Bob Graziano, said of the Everest, "Our customers, our employees and Australia can be assured that we're connected to the nation and committed to our customers through terrific products with class-leading technologies."
