If you have any questions please email at: towandaraczkowski@oath.com . You are looking at one of the most accurate and detailed 1967 Shelby GT350 Replicas around. A great deal of time,
thought, and effort has gone into building this car with no expense spared. Many original Shelby parts and
components were used during the build process and the result is one of the most stunning GT350 replicas you will
find anywhere.
THE CAR
The foundation for this build was an all original 1967 Mustang C code fastback. Built at the San Jose, California
Ford plant on February 2, 1967 and sold at J&B Ford Sales in Corte Madera, California. The car spent most of its
life in California until 1986 when it went to New Mexico. In 2000, it returned to California and 2 years later
began what would become a 3-year restoration and conversion to its current state.
ENGINE
The original date coded 289ci engine is still in place. It was removed and completely rebuilt with a 0.010
overbore, forged aluminum pistons, high flow oil pump, double roller timing chain, Crane roller cam with a slightly
higher lift and longer duration, Edelbrock 4 Bbl intake and 635 cfm carburetor, stainless steel valves and hardened
valve seats ensure reliable running on modern unleaded fuel. Correct Shelby valve covers and early GT350 air
cleaner assembly installed. A newly rebuilt and correctly date coded alternator was installed as well as correctly
rebuilt water and power steering pumps. In addition, a correct K code 5-blade Hi-po fan was installed. In order
to ensure cooler running, a 160-degree thermostat was used and a 4 core custom-built brass and copper radiator was
configured to look correct and provide 20 percent more cooling capacity. The original C4 transmission was rebuilt
and reinstalled. All belts, hoses, battery, and wiring are correctly marked with the FoMoCo and Autolite logos.
Engine and drive train currently have about 900 miles on them since rebuild.
DRIVE TRAIN AND SUSPENSION
All new front and rear springs were installed with a 1-inch drop in ride height. New ball joints, tie rod ends,
universal joints, sway bars, shackles, bolts, and urethane bushings were installed. Rear axle retains its original
2.79 axle ratio with new bearings installed. All brake and fuel lines were replaced with new as well as a new
22-gallon fuel tank. Front brakes converted to power disc by Stainless Steel Brakes with new proportioning valve.
Rear brakes completely rebuilt with new drums, linings, wheel cylinders and hardware. In addition to front-end
rebuild, the entire power steering system was rebuilt as well including the pump, assist cylinder, bushings, and
lines. Complete new Magnaflow 2 ¾” dual exhaust with crossover and chrome tips is attached to a set of Ford
factory 4 Bbl exhaust manifolds. New shocks all around with the correct Koni logos from the mid 1960's. A new set
of factory exact Kelsey Hayes Magstar wheels with the correct hard to find Kelsey Hayes chrome lug nuts and brand
new BFG radial TA tires finishes off the look of an early build 1967 GT350.
BODY
Original rust-free body was completely stripped and all Shelby fiberglass panels and components were test fitted,
sanded and reworked and then test fitted again a total of 6 times to ensure outstanding fit and finish far
exceeding anything that originally came from Shelby. The result is a body fit and finish equal to that of a brand
new Lexus. This was an extremely labor intensive process but was well worth it to ensure beautiful fit and finish
quality with no waves, ripples, or warping. The car was then primered and painted with 3 coats of original
Brittany Blue before the white stripes were painted over the top of the car. In order to ensure a perfectly smooth
transition between the blue paint and the stripes, 3 coats of clear were applied with wet sanding between each.
The result is a multiple award winning paint job that is like looking through a layer of glass. Correct Shelby
taillights were added with new wiring, harnesses, and solid-state rear sequential flasher relays. These were wired
up to not only flash sequentially during turn signal operation but also to sequentially flash simultaneously when
the brakes are applied. All body, seals, weather stripping, latches, fasteners, and plugs were replaced with new
components. In addition, all body bolts, nuts, and fasteners were replaced with correctly marked original type
components. Over $20,000 went into the body and paint conversion alone and the result is a really outstanding work
of art.
INTERIOR
All new carpeting, door panels, seats, trim, stainless panels, dash, chrome, and hardware were used. A custom
8,000 rpm tach was installed in the clock position from an aftermarket manufacturer in Australia. These are a rare
aftermarket accessory and are no longer available. All electrical and wiring was refurbished and replaced where
necessary. Original Shelby Stewart Warner under dash gauges were installed as was a very hard to find original
Italian-made FIV Shelby GT350 steering wheel. Full Shelby roll bar includes impossible to find Shelby retractor
shoulder belts. All of these Shelby components are usually missing on other Shelby replicas. A Ken Harrison AM/FM
high power two-post deck was also installed with a trunk mounted CD player and iPod plug in. Sound comes from two
6 ½ inch Infiniti kick panel speakers and two 6x9 rear speakers. CD is controlled remotely from the aftermarket
removable console. Rear seat is shown in the folded down position in the pictures but it is there and can be
folded up again. Shelby GT350 floor mats, emblems, and interior markings including seat belts finish off the
interior. The final touch is the authentic Carroll Shelby signature on the right side of the dash. Signed by
Carroll Shelby himself in 2007 and comes with a COA authenticating this signature. At the time of Carroll
Shelby’s unfortunate passing I was offered $4,000 for this piece of trim with his signature and debated whether
to include this with the sale of this car but decided to keep it together as a package.
The final result as you can see is one of the most stunning and correct GT350 replicas you will find. Click on the
link below to see over 50 pictures of the car in order to appreciate the amount of time, effort and expense that
went into this build.

National Geographic Channel balances Ford F-150 on four coffee mugs

Wed, 29 Jan 2014

Proving that there is still something to be learned on television these days, National Geographic Channel recently introduced a new series called Duck Quacks Don't Echo. On the first episode of this science/comedy show, host Michael Ian Black proposes the idea that a truck can be supported with a ceramic coffee mug under each wheel - yes, he says that the entire weight of a truck can be balanced on just four coffee mugs.
Looking to find out whether this is fact or myth, the show uses a regular cab Ford F-150, weighing in at 4,800 pounds, and four average coffee mugs. Lowered onto the mugs, the idea is quickly put to the test. Can the cups hold up under 4,800 pounds? If so, what, exactly, would it take to break them? Scroll down below to find out.

UK auto magazine says this is the best car commercial of all time [w/videos]

Thu, 20 Dec 2012

There have been many great car commercials over the years, but is it possible to define the best? Well, Ad Week recently took a crack at it by rating the top commercials of the year by looking at their view counts on YouTube, but Auto Express took a more democratic approach by putting the decision to a vote. Just after Thanksgiving, Auto Express came up with a list of the 20 popular commercials, and it tasked its readers with choosing the winner for the best car ad of all time. The winner? Honda's 2003 commercial for its then-new European Accord titled "The Cog."
While the ad never aired in the US, most car people have surely seen the impressive Rube Goldberg-style spot. In fact, the only commercial on this list that we saw on US television was the Volkswagen ad "The Force," but many of the others have become viral videos, including transforming and dancing Citroën C4. Of the 19 other commercials that vied for the title of best ad of all time, only the Ford Puma "Steve McQueen" commercial gave Honda a run for its advertising money.
Scroll down to watch Auto Express' top five commercial in order and to check out a press release, then let us know some of your favorite car commercials in Comments.

GM hard at work on Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra PHEV pickups

Wed, Feb 21 2024

Autoweek heard from sources at General Motors and Ford about how each automaker is addressing the dip in EV enthusiasm and sales. At General Motors, AW reports, "plug-in hybrid versions of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra are headed to market, in a hurry." The sources gave no timeline for when the trucks might appear. GM CEO Mary Barra told analysts during GM's Q4 2023 earnings call, "Let me be clear, GM remains committed to eliminating tailpipe emissions from our light-duty vehicles by 2035, but in the interim, deploying plug-in technology in strategic segments will deliver some of the environmental benefits of EVs as the nation continues to build its charging infrastructure."  It's too soon to predict how the Chevy Silverado EV and GMC Sierra EV will fare on the market, the Silverado EV Work Truck still the only one available to customers. It might be better for GM if they're not too popular at first, the automaker's cautious EV production ramp-up and recent software setbacks responsible for some still-healthy reservation rolls. Barra said the company plans to build between 200,000 and 300,000 EVs, this year, which would clear that backlog. Heading into the end of February, with the Chevy Bolt out of the picture and additional EV pickup production pushed to 2025, our Spidey senses feel those are optimistic numbers. The Chevy Bolt was the third-best-selling EV in the U.S. last year, at 62,044 units. GM didn't have another vehicle in the top ten. Furthermore, the combined sales of every EV in the top ten after the Bolt — seven models from six manufacturers — is only just over 200,000 units. The Blazer EV and Equinox EV could make it happen, but there's no way Chevy wants to rush those, the Blazer EV still in software purgatory.   The report speaks of collateral damage, GM said to have canceled an electric pickup sized below the Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz. Automotive News said it saw the truck in January 2023, describing it as a futuristic two-door with a low roof and a 4.5-foot cargo bed. A new full-size van program supposedly got the axe as well, eliminating the plan to put a new Chevy Express and GMC Savana on a Brightdrop EV chassis. Over at Ford, AW says its sources mentioned another canceled midsizer; Ford's apparently stopped working on an EV pickup sized a bit below the Nissan Frontier.
