1965 Ford Mustang A Code Engine No Reserve on 2040-cars
Madison, Wisconsin, United States
1965 RED Ford Mustang Convertible, 289 V8 Engine Code A, 4 Speed Top Loader, 4 Piston Caliper brakes, and Power
top.
Not only does this Mustang have a V8 289, It is a "A CODE" Engine. Which had 50 more horsepower than the regular 289. Backed with a 4 speed Manual Top loader Trans. It comes with Rally Pac Gauges. You can stop all these Ponies with 4 piston caliper brakes, Which was a
factory upgrade on this vehicle. Back in 1965 they only made 5,338 body code 76B, Which was a convertible with
Luxury Interior. To get this engine/ Trans/ Brake/ Gauge setup..
The interior is done in a beautiful RED which was the original trim code color. It was restored many years ago with
new carpet, dash pad, Front and Rear seat covers, and Door panels. Which are all in great condition, and might show
just some minor wear.
Paint work for the interior is very nice. But, shows some small flaws. The original A.M. Radio appears to work
good, along with the speakers. Speedometer gauge works good, along with the temp gauge, and tachometer. Fuel gage
seems to be intermitted, and is probably nothing more than a simple sensor. The sensor is an easy fix, and the
clock does not work. But, who needs to know the time while driving this beautiful machine..
The oil and alternator indicator lights work as they should. The 2 speed power wipers work on both speeds, along
with the cigarette lighter. The heater and controls appear to work as they should. Moving between the vents and
moving from hot to cold, and the blower seems to work on all speeds. It has good heat. There is a owners manual
located in glove box.
The power top works great up and down, The motor appears to be strong, Sounds healthy while running and the
Hydraulics do not leak. Top was replace a long time ago, with a new rear window replaced recently. The rear window
is clear to see through as you can see in the pictures. The fabric for the top seems to be in great shape! Still is
a brilliant bright white color. Frame appears to be in good shape.. I have moved the top up and down a few times
and it appears to work great, and lines up nicely to the window, and locks in place nicely.
Windows roll up and down well, and appear to be in good shape and clean. I didn't notice any cracks and are
believed to be the original glass. Both doors open and close like a dream, and the door locks work on both doors.
Lock Cylinders work with the keys as well. The trunk and hood both open and close with no issues. Including the
lock cylinder in the trunk. The trunk is equipped with a trunk mat, a spare tire, and matching cover, and matching
tool pouch. The dash shows 25,510 miles on it. it is unknown if these are the actual mileage. There is a
possibility the it has rolled over once before. There are 4 seat belts in the car to make sure you and your family
are safe on those nights to the drive in theater.
The tires have a lot of tread on them and have awesome white walls to compliment the beautiful red paint job. The
tires are old but are holding air like new. The car will look great rolling down the street, and would make anyone
proud to own it. You can drive it as is, or you can restore it to tip top shape if you'd like. But either way..
You will be the envy of the neighborhood. The rims are in good shape, and have what appear to be the original
stainless Mustang hub caps with iconic spinners. All hub caps look like they are in good condition, and are not
missing.
This stunning mustang is equipped with manual brakes and factory 4 piston calipers up front. The pads and rotors
appear to be in good working condition. But would recommend having the vehicle looked over by a professional, as
the car has been sitting in a garage for many years. The rear brakes are drum brakes, and appear to be working as
they should. The brake petal feels firm, and stopped the vehicle nicely. I have not used the parking brake. I just
put it in gear when I park. I am unsure how well it works.
The steering and suspension appear to be good. I only drove the car for a short time around a few blocks. But, the
steering was smooth. I did not notice any noise, and it felt tight. Steering appeared to work as it should, and
returned nicely after turns, which made me believe the alignment is good.

Average transaction prices climb to a record $36,270 in January
Sat, Feb 3 2018The automotive sector made a hash of the numbers last month, a mess of pluses and minuses clogging the transaction-price charts according to Kelley Blue Book. The overall industry rose one percent, even though buyers bought fewer cars and light vehicles in January 2018 vs 2017 using the selling-day adjusted rate. Due to January transaction prices rising to $36,270, a record for January, the value of new vehicles sold climbed more than $1 billion compared to January 2017. KBB's transaction prices don't include customer incentives, which changes the complexion slightly; average incentive spending rose to just over ten percent. The average transaction price in December 2017 was $36,756, so January dropped a bit - nothing unexpected, with the month annually blamed for "January doldrums." More revealing is the fact that the average transaction price in January 2017 was $34,910. This year's plumped-up figure came courtesy of the continued shift to crossovers, SUVs, and light trucks, which shouldn't surprise anyone who's read an automotive blog in the past 20 years. That category comprised nearly 70 percent of new vehicle sales for the month. Some manufacturers profited more than others, though. Fiat Chrysler managed 12.8 percent fewer sales in January compared year-on-year, but the company's vehicles sold for $1,300 more. The Ford brand suffered a 6.3-percent dip in sales, but brand transaction prices increased $2,000, while a Lincoln sold for $8,700 more on average. General Motors sold more cars and sold them for more money; overall GM transaction prices rose four percent, or $1,270, while a GMC traded hands for seven-percent more than in January 2017 and a Cadillac got $2,300 more on average. Of KBB's listed automakers, the Volkswagen Group got the most of out its customers, transaction prices rising at the German automaker by 5.6 percent to $42,243 in January 2018 compared to a year earlier. American Honda followed with a 4.3-percent increase to $28,991, GM in third at 4.1 percent to $40,313. Find your next car at Autoblog using our new and used car listings or the Car Finder tool. Broken out by segment, minivans rocked the table, transaction prices leaping by 7.9 percent to $35,380 compared to January a year earlier. Luxury cars boasted the next-highest rise, at 3.6 percent to $58,533.
Gooding to auction 2016 Shelby GT350 to benefit vets
Tue, Aug 4 2015Gooding & Company will be auctioning off a brand-new 2016 Ford Shelby GT350 on August 15 at Pebble Beach. The chance to own Dearborn's new flagship muscle car is surely enough all on its own to garner some serious bids. Combine that desirability with a hefty dose of star power and the desire to support a good cause and we're sure this particular pony car will be boosted even further. The GT350 is being sold to support the Military Service Initiative at the George W. Bush Institute, a program that seeks to support post-9/11 military veterans and their families as they transition into civilian life. The car's dashboard has been signed by the former president, and will be auctioned off by none other than Jay Leno – who in addition to being an unsurpassed showman and car nut is also known as a passionate supporter of American servicemen. Gooding expects the super-Stang to fetch between $75,000 and $100,000 for the cause – or roughly twice the car's $47,870 MSRP. The 2016 Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang debuted late last year at the LA Auto Show. It packs a new 5.2-liter V8 with a flat-plane crank, kicking out 526 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque. That makes it the most powerful naturally aspirated engine Ford has ever made. "This is one of the most exotic engines ever produced by a major American manufacturer plus the fact that it's going into the most American of cars," said Jay Leno. "I am proud to help auction this car off where the proceeds will go to helping our veterans." Related Video: 2016 Ford Shelby GT350 to be Auctioned to Benefit the George W. (August 3, 2015) – Gooding & Company, the official auction house of The Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance®, is thrilled to offer for sale a 2016 Ford Shelby GT350. The sale of this Shelby will benefit the George W. Bush Institute's Military Service Initiative, a charity that honors the service and sacrifice of post-9/11 veterans and military families by bridging the civilian-military divide and fostering a successful transition and reintegration from military service to civilian life. The 2016 Ford Shelby GT350 is the first vehicle to implement Ford's new race-derived flat-plane crank 5.2-liter V-8, the most powerful naturally-aspirated engine ever to grace a Ford.
U.S. auto sales in April expected to drop despite big discounts
Thu, Apr 26 2018DETROIT — U.S. auto sales in April likely fell nearly 8 percent from the same month in 2017 despite big discounts for consumers, industry consultants J.D. Power and LMC Automotive said on Thursday. For much of the past two years, the discounts offered by automakers have remained at levels that industry analysts say are unsustainable and unhealthy in the long term. April U.S. new vehicle sales will likely be about 1.31 million units, down from 1.42 million units a year earlier, the consultancies said. The forecast was based on the first 17 selling days of April. Automakers, including Ford and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, will release April U.S. sales results on May 1. Earlier this month, No. 1 U.S. automaker General Motors said it will stop reporting monthly U.S. sales because the 30-day snapshot does not accurately reflect the market. GM will instead issue quarterly sales reports. U.S. new vehicle sales fell 2 percent in 2017 to 17.23 million units after hitting a record high in 2016. Sales are expected to drop further in 2018 as interest rates rise and more late-model used cars return to dealer lots to compete with new ones. LMC expects full-year 2018 U.S. new vehicle sales to come in at around 17 million units. "Uncertainty and unfavorable factors appear to be mounting for autos, including a volatile stock market, rising interest rates, rising oil prices and potential trade roadblocks," Jeff Schuster, LMC's head of global vehicle forecasts, said in a statement. The seasonally adjusted annualized rate of sales for April will be 16.6 million vehicles, down more than 2 percent from 17 million units in April 2017, the consultancies said. Retail sales to consumers, excluding lower-margin fleet sales to rental agencies, businesses and government, were set to decline about 9 percent in April. The level of consumer discounts, which can erode profit margins and undercut resale values, "remains the larger concern," the consultancies said. The average discount was $3,698, up $187 from April 2017. Discounts on trucks and SUVs were up $426, but down $226 on passenger cars.
