I purchased this all original steel 1927 Model T Roadster out of California. This car has always been in California since new. Somewhere in the late 60s or early 70s the car was made into a hot rod. The body is rust free and very nice with real nice paint. It also has painted flames that are done with house of colours paint. The underside of the is just as clean as the outside. The interior is tan and in good condition. The windshield is in great condition with no cracks. The entire body is steel including the running boards and the fenders also. This is the real deal and not a kit car. This is a true hot rod survivor. This car runs very strong and will give a very impressive ride when you hit the gas.The motor is in excellent condition and makes no funny noises .It has a real nice sounding cam and exhaust. This is a list of the stuff I know is on the car:

  • 400 ci engine, the motor has been built and has a very healthy cam
  • 2 speed power glide transmission, these are very sought after by racers
  • Has a Ford 9 inch rear end with 4 link ladder bars and coil over shocks
  • It has front drop axle with 4 link bars
  • It has front disc brakes with rear drum
  • Has sonic turbo exhaust
  • Chrome alternator
  • Weiand intake
  • Edelbrock carb
  • Headers with trapped doors
  • Aluminum valve covers
  • Aluminum bird catcher scoop
  • True Spoke wire wheels
  • 15's rear and 14's front tires
  • Original Model T steering wheel

It also has a aluminum fuel cell under the running board. I do also have the top for the car and it is in excellent shape also. This is a true old school hot rod survivor. I am sure I am leaving out a lot of things but this is a basic description from what I can see. All of the lights and turn signals work and so the gauges and even the horn. This car runs and drives excellant and is beautiful in person. The car does very well at car shows I just won the best oldest car award at last show I went to. You will not be disappointed with this car.

Question of the Day: Most degraded car name?

Fri, May 27 2016

When Ford came up with a not-so-sporty version of the Pinto and slapped Mustang badges on it in 1974, that was a low point for the Mustang name. When Chrysler applied the venerable Town & Country name on perfectly functional but unglamorous minivans, it saddened many of us. But perhaps the biggest demotion for a once-proud model came when, in 1988, General Motors imported a misery-enhancing Daewoo from Korea and called it the Pontiac LeMans. The original Pontiac LeMans was a great-looking midsize car with fairly advanced (for the time) suspension design and engine options including potent V8s and a screaming overhead-cam straight-six. The Daewoo-based Pontiac LeMans was a cramped, shoddy hooptie that served only to ruin the LeMans name forever, while stealing sales from the Suzuki-based Chevrolet Sprint. Sure, using the once-respected Monterey name on the Mercurized Ford Freestar was bad, but Mercury didn't have long to live at that point. I say the downward spiral of the LeMans name was the most agonizing in automotive history. What do you think? Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. Ford looks back on 50 years of the Mustang in Detroit

Tue, 14 Jan 2014

Ford has something special sitting in its booth here at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show. In fact, it brought two special somethings in the form of the Ford Mustang 1 Concept that first saw the light of day in 1962 and the very first production Mustang that rolled off the production line in 1964.
These classic creations are sharing floor space with the brand-new 2014 Mustang in honor of the pony car's 50th Anniversary. Since Ford's latest 'Stang already made its auto show debut (at a number of locations, including Los Angeles), we think it's pretty cool that the Blue Oval did something special for its home-town show.
Check out both the Mustang 1 Concept and first production 1964.5 Mustang above and below.

Ward's reveals annual 10 Best Engines list for 2013

Thu, 13 Dec 2012

Ward's Auto has released its annual 10 Best Engines award winners. The 2013 list covers the full width and breadth of the internal combustion spectrum, from a spate of efficient four-cylinders to the most powerful production V8 on the planet. As always, the entries must be available in a production vehicle in the first quarter of 2013 with an MSRP of less than $55,000. The supercharged 3.0-liter V6 from the Audi S5 held on for the fourth consecutive year, and BMW earned two spots on the list with its turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder and turbo 3.0-liter inline-six.
Ford pulled in two awards for its 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder and and the supercharged 5.8-liter V8 from the Shelby GT500. Honda matched BMW and Ford with two wins of its own. Wards awarded the 2.4-liter four-cylinder from the Honda Accord Sport as well as the 3.5-liter V6 from the Honda Accord. Chrysler, General Motors and Subaru each garnered a spot on the list as well for the 3.6-liter V6 in the Ram 1500, the turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder in the Cadillac ATS and the 2.0-liter four-cylinder the Subaru BRZ, respectively.
